Is an AGM battery a good choice for your boat in the primary position?
Because of charging concerns, the AGM battery may not be a great choice in the primary position. It's life may be shortened and your motor's rectifier may get damaged as mine did.

To my fellow BOOMER..Like the shirt! Unsupervised!! I get off my chain a lot! Nice Rig. I've been modding my 17 F150 XLT Super Crew Sport 5.0, blacked out look, front and rear, leveled on 35's. Never too old at 65..
Thanks bro. Up to 74 now and still going strong.
😅
I have the exact same smoker as you my tip is only use the top rack and attach paper clips on every other grate wire so it should fit 11 pairs. And use scewers so that you can hang your jerky I just did some today and it fit 6 pounds of eye round
The skewers is a great idea. Thanks
I would park my nice boat and tractor outside
On my Masterbuilt I avoid the edges of the grates because they get overdone
Good to know... Thank YOU for sharing that tid-bit.
I use a glass bowl and put it in the refrigerator.
I'm doing the same as you did for talon, sandwich, just curious what type of silicone did you use n what did u torque the bolts at,, be my 1st time doing this.

Just hand tightened them.
Ok ty for the information n getting bck to me
Nice truck bro hey what’s the item number I would like to put them on my truck 07 silverado
My 2018 body is different from 2007. I can’t find a “Max Coverage” flare for your truck. It looks like it would be a Bushwacker Pocket Style. You’ll need to know the bed size as well. Hope it helps.
Great job man. Took me a few days and my body is a wreak.
Thanks Dave. Any issues? I had to lengthen my front drive shaft 3/4” to remove a vibration in four wheel drive. Actually, it still vibrates a little.
@camomano2 Too soon to tell. So, far so...good!
So you have that sandwich bracket on both sides? Just mounting the talon on 1 side. The other side evens the motor out?
Yes, the opposite side spacer is included with the bracket.
@@camomano2 thanks. I just decided to order the sandwich bracket for the other side as well. Figured I would just add it so I only need to pull the motor back once. Then if I ever want to add another talon, I’m all set.
@@pyrocrew13 I assume you’re doing this on a Tracker. Be advised that each one weights close to 80lbs. You’ll have motor, fuel, batteries and possibly another angler in the rear as well. See how it performs with one Talon. I’m actually going to change my prop in order to come up on plane faster. I’m not concerned about top speed as much. Today I can get to 35 mph with just me in the boat and 1/2 tank of fuel.
@@camomano2 yeah. Tracker 190 XT with 115 mercury. Just putting 1 talon on for now. Figured I would just add the second bracket just in case I wanted to add a second in the future.
You did a pretty nice job I just ran a cross your video I'm thinking about spraying mind all black
That should be much easier. Don’t forget the plastic sealer step.
Well done, but I suggest a couple of improvements of your method. The corks come 1.25" diameter. Clamp a board to your drill press and with a Forstner bit drill a 1.25" hole about 1/4" deep. Keeping the board clamped, set your corks in the hole to drill the center hole to size and dead on the center. Gorilla glue of similar polyurethane glues are a great choice for gluing cork. You wet the cork so It foams and fills voids.
Thanks Mike. Good idea. Sounds like you’ve done it a few times.
Tip when spray with spray cans keep paper towl in one hand every so often whipe nozzle to prevent the drips and spatter.
Thanks for sharing. Going to try to make my first batch tomorrow.
Looks great! Can you do a video on re-gearing it?
Beyond my capabilities. Besides, I’m getting used to the 3:08 gear. I just run in 5th gear most of the time.
@@camomano2 I have to say I am impressed with your work!

Bro I luv this. I’m all about DIY and fishing is my life. I’m just having trouble with getting set up on this particular jig mine isn’t the same but same principle. Any advice
Be glad to help. Where are you having problems?
I have a tracker 190 and I am trying to install a ghost trolling motor. My question is, did your positioning or angle of your ghost mount differ a lot from old trolling motor mount area? I am trying to find the best position with proper overhang and keeping motor head still inside boat. Looks like you angled it different which puts more of the unit in deck area when stowed. Which is what I would have to do. Just checking before drilling new holes. Did you plug your old holes or left alone?
Jasen, my Motor Guide holes did not match the Ghost so I just put it where I wanted it. I believe Lowrance calls for 1” off the bow and, as you mentioned, position the head inside the rails. I do have some exposed holes. You can get plastic plugs to fill them or be lazy like me and place a decal over them. Actually, I believe there’s only one. I’m willing to take some updated photos of the positioning if you like. Let me know Thanks Tom
@@camomano2 I have seen another video of someone installing a ghost on a boat exactly like yours and his motor head looks like its sticks past boat. Yours doesn’t. I was curious if you could send pics of the front over hang. The only way I can get mine head unit to line up inside is to have the front of mount not be 100 percent parallel with the curve to the bow. Hopefully that makes sense. Maybe you could take a couple pics from the front downward angle so I can relate the angle. Thank you for the quick response and pics would be helpful.
Jasen, send me your email. Trumore@ptd.net
@@camomano2 DONE let me know if something went wrong.I will send again. Thank you.

Did you really need to cut it perfect in half ? I think you could of gone close enough pick the nearest stave . Cut just the bands off and not have to cut the wood. Won't notice that one barrel half is smaller than the other
Thank Robert, you probably right. That was my first go around. However, I don’t see me doing another.
What year is your boat?
Michael, it’s a 2016 that I purchased in March of 2017.
Nice job! I have the same boat. Decided to upgrade trolling motor and graphs instead of buying a new boat. Now have Ghost TM and 12" HDS Live front and back with Active Target. Love it!
Awesome Rob. Good luck.
Please give an update on the paint job. I did the same thing and my paint is flaking off
No paint problems. However, under the flares there is a rub line on my truck paint. I take them off for cleaning ever spring and I noticed it after one year. I reinstalled them with a light coat of oil on the vinyl gasket. I’m hoping that minimizes the problem.
@@camomano2 thank you I’m repainting mines tomorrow
Put 3m clear tape or double sided tape where the fender flare meets the body and it shouldn’t leave any lines. Installed mine about 8 months ago took them off and no damage to paint 👍

Hi Tom it looks great! I have a 175 TXW and am doing the same thing as you are. My question is, how did you route the NEMA and Ethernet from the bow to the helm? Thanks
High Mark, it’s routed along the side in the gray conduit.
You an see it on part 2 near the end of the video.
Great job Tom,... I have a 2019 bass tracker 175TXW, and I also live in PA. I really like the boat. But as you know we have a lot lakes that we can't use our big motor. I just purchased a 55 thrust trolling motor to be mounted on the starboard side. But do to my big motor steering and cabling, I can't mount the additional motor. I have my mini power poles mounted on the port side. Do you have any suggestions?
Well Karl, I have a Talon on my starboard side. I’m not sure why the motor cables are a problem for you. On my port side, I have a bracket for a 7.5Hp mercury engine. ( however, I don’t trailer with it mounted)
thanks Tom, I appreciate you input... I decided to send the additional trolling motor back, and invest in some good lithium batteries for my fortex...now I should be able fish all day...

Hey I was wondering how are the sandwich brackets holding up? Wanting to place them on 195 txw 150 pro XS
They are rock solid. I haven’t had any issues.
Great work
Thanks, but as Ricky mentioned below, I didn’t use the 3M tape and the flares are leaving a mark on the paint. I rrr we move them once a year to clean and wax but it still marks. Can’t buff out either. I would have to wet sand to get it clean again.

Actually, it's a 374 and mine was still made in Germany. Not sure how old it is.

I have some doubts with where to install anthena. I was thinking on the left on trolling motor but manual recomend not to install very near. Thank you!!
I’ve had it out two times. No problems with the antenna position. The anchor feature works great. The power is awesome. I had it set at “7” and When I turned it, almost knocked me out of the boat. I’m still getting used to it’s turning sensitivity. Yesterday I was fishing in a 15 to 20 mph wind and used anchoring for 4 hours and saw no loss of power at the end of the trip. You’ll love it. They need to add pickerel. When bass aren't cooperating, pickerel can save the day.
🙋 so are they done fixing this minsi lake yet, also did the Pennsylvania fishing game commission stock it yet for the new trout fishing season to open up and start. The last time I finished this, I think I was 21 years old and soon I'm going to be 47. I would love to come and fish on my birthday.
