Virtual Angel definitely has a darker undertone in the sense that it does touch on the worshipping of idols and the connections that fans feel they have. It's both comforting but also harmful at times I will say that after listening to the album, these songs are great but the best B-sides were all the unreleased tracks. They are seriously amazing songs.
Yeah they say it at the very start: I’ll be there for you WHEN your wings break. Being deluded and disappointed by your own expectations towards your idol is a certainty cause using parasocial bonds over irl relationships so you don’t get hurt will only leave you stunted. The lyrics are pretty clever.

Honestly sound and themes wise Virtual Angel feels so much like the yyxy repackage that BBC axed due to costs; I don’t doubt deep down JJ picked the project from the point the meddling started and is executing that vision with ARTMS.

I love virtual angel and i love the aesthetic of the mv and the idea of the mv in THEORY it's just hard to look at. I wish the like 4 frames per second were maybe only towards the end of the video for a shorter section. And it needs a more obvious seizure warning lmao
