hii the context that i accidentally cut out was just that i wasn’t too familiar with loona when they were still loona so i don’t have the same emotional connection to the girls and their re-debuts as a lot of other people do but i was excited to finally get to experience their talent too! i also wanted to express how happy i was for all of these girls getting new opportunities and another chance on stage after all the shit they went through 🫶🏻
loona are still loona! i know a lot of people are (understandably) confused by their situation but they never really disbanded, just left the company. all the girls still call themselves and the other members loona, and there are plans for future ot12 activities. artms and loossemble are like new sub-units whilst yves and chuu are active as soloists again!
@@astrobuddy00 i was just going to say that i wasn’t too familiar with loona when they were still loona so i don’t have the same emotional connection to the girls and their re-debut as a lot of other people do but i was excited to finally get to experience their talent too! not totally important context now that i’m thinking about it lol
"The sin of swallowing the sun" is a callback to LOONA. Butterfly Effect has been kept in the LOONA vault for 6 years waiting for the right moment to release it.
Both Birth and Distress are songs voted by the fans to be added in their album! The first place of the voted song would be given a MV, which is Birth. There were originally 5 song snippets and both of those songs prevailed❤
the weird vocal effect in flower rhythm is an edited version of heejin's intro to her solo mini album! (also it's just pronounced cherry) and candy crush is familiar because it's sampled from haseul's solo "plastic candy", which is in turn sampled from "plastic love" by mariya takeuchi
i genuinely love the way you pick apart these songs as you go through them, from one melomaniac to another, your ears are so keen and it's so great to watch.
Still my personal album of the year with Virtual Angel being my current title track of the year. I think as far as post loona releases we have gotten this is the closest to being the "Loona Sound" that people know and love. They exceeded all my expectations and more with this release i couldnt be happier. I saw them on tour a month ago and it was so incredible to hear all these songs in a live setting. Im so nice to see them happy and living their best life and the same can be said for the rest of the Loona girls. It truly is an amazing time to be an orbit.
This EP remains my favorite release of the year, and Birth is a masterpiece. The choreo for it is some of the best in kpop when it comes to storytelling. I don't know exactly what I was expecting for the ARTMS debut, but my expectations were why, what we got was so different and better than I could have imagined.
Flower Rhythm and Candy Crush both sampled ARTMS stuff too! Flower Rhythm uses the instrumental of Heejin’s album K and the “na na na” part in the post chorus you liked was a sample from her title track Algorithm from that album. The instrumental part you liked from Candy Crush that you said felt like a sample actually was a sample from Haseul’s solo Plastic Candy. The pre releases (aside from birth) are meant to be kind of nods to the “predebut” works from ARTMS between the three members of Odd Eye Circle (Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry), Heejin, and Haseul. So i really do think that the reason the “da da da” part they used from AF1 in Air felt out of place to you (and to a lot of people when it first released) really is just due to knowing it’s from another song (and one that has a totally different vibe). After a few listens it re-contextualizes it and actually fits really well with the song I think! ALSO the line that Jinsoul sings in the first chorus of Virtual Angel “The sin of swallowing up the sun” is a reference to her solo debut Singing in the Rain during the predebut phase of Loona back in 2017 where she sings a similar line! Honestly there’s so many Loona lyric references all over this project but that one in particular I really loved because that line has always stuck with me ever since I first heard it in her solo song.
ahh ok this is good to know! i do think knowing the air force one reference wasn't the only one they made def helps my liking of that line. but after revisiting plastic candy and algorithm i do think there's still some disconnect with how that air force one sample is integrated into air. something about the old song to new song transitions in the other pre-releases are just much more seamless to me but! like you said it takes a few listens to get used to it and i don't really mind/care anymore. i have found that i always let go of my personal preferences when the context is that they are referencing other art and influences :) and speaking of that ^ VERY cool that they're referencing lyrics as well, especially that line bc that language is gorgeous!
I wish I found your channel earlier, I love how you notice small details in the inst, and replay over and over to hear it and give your honest feeling about the music
i truly have so much fun picking music apart and i'm so glad knowing other people like yourself enjoy watching/hearing me do it! hope to see you hanging out w/me for a while
When this album first came out it didn't grab me, but one by one every song except one has grown on me. Now Dall is my album of the year. If only the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy hit for me, and it would be a no skip for me. Also, love your makeup look in the album reaction!
So glad to finally see your reaction to DALL omg! I’m glad you liked it, I feel like Modhaus consistently has some of the most interesting song productions and compositions. I think what they really excel at is setting the vibe for a song for a project, it shows in all their releases but especially in bigger projects like Assemble24 and DALL, which both have a pretty diverse range of tracks but each develop their own mood. Another personal favorite of mine is Muhan by TripleS Lovelution, it’s just so energetic, a tad bit hectic, and intensely groovy. I’m really excited to see how ARTMS and TripleS continue evolve.
Bravo! 👏👏👏This is what I call a REACTION. Your sensitivity and attention to detail in every part of every musical arrangement is impressive and satisfying, to say the least. Besides, the tone of your voice and your gestures are very pleasant to hear and see. Thanks Lana-Kate, I couldn't help but subscribe when you finished your reaction to 'Birth', which is my favorite ARTMS so far for being so, so special as MV and as a song.
Amazing video thank you. Artms being from modhaus and jaden if you liked the production and how they play with song structure of artms music. You should 100 percent check out TripleS. They are also from modhaus and jaden. And are like the little sisters of artms.
i am VERY into tripleS! i haven't done any videos on them so far for various reasons but i am considering going back and doing some videos anyway, they wouldn't be first reactions but they'd be reactions/reviews nonetheless! we'll see, we'll see :)

Thanks for reacting to one of my fav artist, i would recommend you to react to other artists like Fromis_9! I love this group and i hope you would too! I might suggest to react to their first full album "unlock my world" considered as one of my favorite album of 2023, filled by songs with unique mix of sounds and instruments packed into a good album will probably excite your ears, personally i love "prom night", "in the mirror" and "attitude" 🥰 And the fun thing is, it's just the surface of their whole incredible discography and sounds, personally my "airplane mode","escape room", and "take a chance" is my favorite b-side outside of the full album. I hope you love them as much as i did, keep up the good content ✨✨💖

Flower Rhythm was based on Heejin Solo "Algorithm" and her intro to her album "Kehwa" I do believe, and Candy Crush was Haseul's song "Plastic Candy"
