Resistance is the textbook definition of a 2006 FPS

- Resistance is a game where the developers resisted the urge to set the color saturation at higher than 2%.

My favorite part about Resistance is the Co-Op and how the cutscenes/story are the exact same. “No one survived from the aliens.. except for one man.. and a Black guy that was following him that we’re never going to actually acknowledge and who isn’t allowed to talk.”
Hahahahhahahah!!!! Omg that’s hilarious
sounds about white
I think that's what they should do with most games instead of avoiding co op in general. Instead of changing the story to have 2 main characters just add a random guy or literally a clone of the protagonist like in Dying Light and keep the story. I don't need immersion if I'm playing with my friends
Did he even have a name lol
My buddy and I recently played all the killzone and resistance game in coop, best feeling ever
(For those who care) Lloyd is spelled with two l‘s because ll is a letter in the welsh alphabet, representing the approximate diphthong „lh .“
This is what I went to check comments for, ty 🙏
Thank you Wyoyd

I respect Robo Crab for not being afraid to speak the truth about Oboe's channel.
Robo Crab is the only reason to watch Oboe
I kinda want him to play Ratchet and Clank deadlocked for more robo crab jokes, bit of a pain to get running though
I think Robo Crab is the real hero of the channel.
Nah it's cringe
Who is robo crab
Resistance has some of my favorite gun designs, both human and aliens. The human ones look how our guns would have progressed if something so drastic happened post ww2, and the alien ones kinda just look great, always felt like you could swap parts between them since they have similarities
funny thing is, ww2 didnt happen in the resistance universe. Thanks to that they where still isolationists untill the brits would give the Americans a chrimea in exchange for aid
I have a soft spot for the main assault rifle in resistance
I wish i beat my psp copy of this game. Those aliens and monsters creeped me out but man they were cool
@@Alec_Reaper the Bullseye was a fun gun to use.
@@Alec_Reaper bullseye and auger for me
I always wanted to play it. Kinda wish they kept the aesthetic and vibes in the sequel with ww2 vs aliens.
In resistance 3 it kinda is there
I think it's an natural progression tho
The chimera already genocided the entirety of Europe, now it was time to go to the US and Canada, we still fight the chimera in 1950's america and see a full on alien invasion
I miss alien invasions like that
Were the aliens are really aliens and not dudes in armor using space assault rifles
@@guillegarcia7146 it’s more like 1950s vs aliens in resistance 3
@@ironpanther9409 the game was set in the 1950s from the very beginning
@@ironpanther9409 ya that's when the game takes place chief
The Battalion Wars shoutout proves that oboe is a real one.
Facts, makes me wish he would do a video on it
Now that is a niche reference, an amazing game
battalion wars on the wii was OG status.
BATTALION WARS REFERENCED, OPINION ACCEPTED.
Resistance was the first FPS I ever played on the PS3 and the second game right behind Bakugan Battle Brawlers. It's held up surprisingly well for a 2006 release and I just love its design aesthetics of the Chimera, the vehicles, and the guns. I think it earns some leniency on console shooter tropes for being earlier than most of them. Resistance: Fall of Man taught me what VTOLs are and how cool they are. I made a lot of VTOLs out of Lego. Also, when I said I wanted to blow someone up in elementary school the principal asked me if I played video games where you blow things up and I thought of the first time you fight a robot crab and said yes.
I bought a PS3 specifically for this game after playing it a little bit at demo kiosk in a store, and I didn't regret that decision for even a moment. This game was so good. I think I might need to replay this trilogy soon.
Resistance needs to come back. Killzone does too but only if it has the mechanics of 2 and 3
I don’t remember if I got a PS3 for this or what but I got it what my Launch system in March 27th 2007 (Irish launch) but when I did play I LOVED IT, it’s WW2 BUT ITS ALIEN INVASION ….Shame Getaway 3 never materialised
I always liked the ascetic and lore of the Resistance games, some of their story and gameplay choices seemed strange, but they all were worth the several playthroughs I did.
i remember being 7 playing this and adored it. The story is what attached me and the second Resistance I adored, esp with that weird multiplayer mode.
Resistance 2's coop was better then the single player, just playing lobies of like 12 people versus aliens was so fun
@@zcritten I'm still bitter that they shut down the online services for that, it was grindy as fuck but if you had 8 players in a game you'd be unstoppable
Who remembers Resistance 2’s PVE multiplayer mode? That was seriously the shit… miss it…
I loved this game so much man. Nothing beats PlayStation 2-3 games man. Those were the days. Where my 2000 guys at?
I'm so glad you made the cocoons joke, its exactly what I was thinking. Please for the love of God play the Killer Klowns from Outer Space game.
This was my first game I played when I got a ps3. My mom and dad went to the grocery store and I asked my dad to rent me a fun looking war game and this is what he grabbed
Imagine if he rented you Turning Point: Fall of Liberty instead
Always here for new content related to the Resistance franchise. Really hope we get a ground up remake of all 3 games, possibly the PSP games too and hopefully a new entry.
Lloyd is a Welsh name and the Welsh language has L and Ll, they both sound different, so Lloyd has two L’s because it should be pronounced differently to how you’re saying it but most people go with the Anglican way to say it.
This.

True hero.
Hey...thanks man
@@lloydredman5170 lmao, no worries dude
1:45 Lloyd is Welsh and is supposed to have a slightly different sound when spoken in the Welsh language, sort of like "chLoyd". You see this double L with he surname Llewellyn too, so imangine being called Lloyd Llewellyn.
Holy shit an Oboeshoes Gaming Battalion Wars reference. That's should be next on the list of games to play.
In the first minute Oboe makes a reference to Warhammer 40k and Killer Klowns From Outer Space, a weird combination but nonetheless made the neurons fire in my chimp brain in the best way.
I'm honestly impressed by the range of references Oboe tosses out like it's nothing.
I still replay Resistance games once in a while. I wish Insomanic would return to it at some point, even if it’s just spin-offs with different characters separate from the Hale Storyline. Maybe in Russia during the beginning where the Chimera was still growing and the Cloven hasn’t gone insane yet.
Yes
The memes were funny, my favorites were, Gollum, Slenderman, Robo-Crab, SW:RoS, and the ever popular Amy, but in all seriousness...
The Bullseye (specifically The Bullseye in R2) is one of favorite video game weapons of all time. I decided to mention it here just in case Oboe doesn't play Resistance 2, but if he does, I'll go into detail why. Until then, just take my word for it, The Bullseye is an incredible gun.
Now I'm not saying that RoboCrabGames would be a better channel, but I am saying I would also watch it.
Little did he know... he DIDN'T actually want to play Gollum.
Cannot wait for more Robo Crab gaming
Beat it on Superhuman mode. Was unstoppable in multiplayer, especially when I got my hands on the sniper. Just imagine you’re chilling and a dude with black armor (what they called black ops) and a skull for a head demolishing you- yup, that was me. Great times. This game will always be one of my favorites. This video doesn’t even scratch the surface of how amazing this game was.
Battalion Wars was one of the best games back in the day, super unique gameplay too, no other game did it at the time that I can remember. WE NEED A REMAKE!!
bro i literally was talking to myself the other day shocked about how you hadnt had a video for my favorite childhood game, AND HERE IT IS! Thanks oboe!
I have been waiting for this for a very very long time!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
omg this game , so much memories , my first ps3 game and i did it with my older brother in split screen
I liked resistance 2 a lot. I liked listening to all the radios that you'd find
Youre simply the most entertaining thing on yt rn, and that says something
I distinctly remember playing this game at a friends house and using the slow motion thingy of the sniper rifle to headshot a guy and watch as the stream of blood spouting from hid forehead showed his trajectory as he fell over backwards.
That was a cool moment.
2 days ago i thought about you playing resistance and was sad you didnt have any videos of it, i cant believe it came true
I remember being really young and my dad had a ps3 and I would sit there and watch him play this game, trying to beat it on every difficulty. One day, I was like 7 or 8 he let me play, and I was really happy cause I hadn't really played the ps3 at all up to that point so everytime I see those aliens I get really good memories :)
Absolutely loved this game
"Luh-loyd"
It's nice to see that the Landstalker tank got more use after Dreadzone was canceled
I saw this game a lot in magazines, I loved the creepy alien designs and it's made by one of my favorite developers... too bad it's M-Rated so I wouldn't get to try it until much later
I love how BEIGE this game is, with subtle accents of BROWN and GREY
This game was awesome especially with a friend, man I wish they would make a new one
I cant wait for oboeshoes to play Ratchet Deadlocked so robo crab can get his revenge
This game was awesome for back then. I remember me and my cousins taking turns on this
That “big team battle” joke caught me off guard.
One of the best ps2 era games imo! Super good
Ps3
@@Norseman991 That's the joke.
resistance 2 had a crazy online multiplayer w like 60 people in a game killing each other it was awesome
That was absolutely crazy back when these games came out, Resistance is such a good series.
Do you remember MAG too? 128v128 players in a single match 😵💫
Hands down my favorite game of all time.
Such a good game, such great memories with my dad. I gotta replay it
I loved the Tunnel section. No wonder I loved dead space. Going through corridors is fun
This game series needs a reboot so hard
Seriously the world, story, concept, it's all so perfect

My name is not Lloyd *but* I do know the llore behind the llegendary name.
It was during the alien invasion of WW2 (a little known fact, studied only by the most knowledgable historians) that Churchill pronounced his famous quote: "We must kill the bloody buggers."
However, he misspelled the word "kill" by adding an extra l. Soldiers could not understand what he meant by "killl" and the war effort was halted.
Humanity, especially Great Britain, was about to meet its demise when, out of the bllue, a brave soldier named Loyd sacrificed himself. He threw himself on top of the radio transmitter, which was broadcasting the speech nonstop in the hopes that the army would eventually understand, and he took the L for Queen and country.
He was tragically killled by the typo, but to this day his heroic demise is remembered everytime that a child is named Lloyd.
4:22 that was some impeccable British humour… “SOMERSET” had me rolling🤣🤣🤣
It makes me happy that I wasn't the only one that had a "cool" lecturer for their editing class. Mine gave us about 200 hours of raw interview footage we had to cut down to 7 minutes. We weren't allowed to upload to youtube either and had to use Vimeo because our lecturer was too awesome to use such a mainstream platform like youtube and made a point constantly to tell us he was better than those losers that use youtube. He said he had never used it and would never have an account, we were all suitably impressed by his refusal to use the one platform that has managed to stick around all this time and be user friendly.
I remember having nightmares about the gray jack (Slenderman) in 2006- was in middle school. My friends revered me for playing fps survival games without pissing myself, oh boy did they knew.
One of my favorite youtubers
I miss this series so much. They can really do a remake
Resisting the urge to tweak up the blue levels on my screen
This was my jam back then. I played all the Resistance games
Wait, they tried to sell us Genji with the giant enemy crab but never pitched Robo-Crab for us during the Resistance launch...huh...missed opportunity.
Dude the resistance was my childhood when growing up
I actually unironically love the minefields in this game they're such a fun little puzzle
Squeezing the most out of that industrial laser footage huh
robo crab didn't even bring up helicopter casualties
Omg you played battalion wars?! What an absolute gem that game was for its time! I haven't even thought about it in at least a decade now. DO bring that one back
Resistance is a fantastic game. One of my favourites.
I don't know how but oboe has one of the best subscriber to view count ratios I've ever seen
the coop in splitscreen is fun
Resistance 2 and 3 are excellent can’t wait for those vids
It was an awesome game, 9/10 easily
I remember playing this on release day of the PS3. When I shot a window, and the glass shattered into separate pieces, that's how I knew we were in the next gen. Gotta respect games that were among the first to imement stuff you take for granted today.
I actually started with Resistance 2 which I think was bundled with PS3 at the time I bought it. From what I remember it was super impressive for its time and the boss fights were really amazing. Loved the story and the gameplay. Resistance 3, while focusing on a different story and main character I really enjoyed the co-op multiplayer. All in all, an amazing trilogy and no idea how they haven't ported these to PS4. Praying for a PS5 re-release!
Also, still have the trilogy bundle somewhere and a PS3 :) Might have to start playing the series again some day!
Loved playing this with my dad growing up. Great memories
The Battlion wars comment got you a like. Those games were so fun and underrated.
Robo crab is truly the best character of the channel. Should be called robocrabgaming.
Four player split screen was the jam on Saturdays with this game.
I love the resistance games growing up. Now I'm on Xbox and big sad I can't play them anymore
I played this game with my dad a few years after it came out. Good memories.
Can’t wait for golem and I would love killer clowns from outer space
This game is ok and I like the horror elements and the alternate history stuff but the two sequels were sooo much fun. Great guns and great co-op. It’s crazy that they never ported these with the amount of ps4 he collections that came out.
The Resistance series is one of my favorite PS series next to Uncharted. Please do Resistance 2 and 3 even if you hate them!
The commitment to the robo crab bit....
Bravo sir bravo
Resistance fall of men was my very first game in PS3 era and one of my favorite game in my childhood and i wished i would play again in PlayStation store or PS4
Oboeshoesgames is my favorite Dailymotioner
now I want to see you play bataillon wars
4:45 😂😂 relatable
Man me and my dad favourite ps3 game of all time! We did a challenge while playing split screen it was to finish the game in superhuman together without fully dying (revives only allowed) its one of my favourite memories. Even when he will be on the other side i will remember those days until i will pass.
dude I forgot all about battalion wars, I got one as a kid in middle school for the Wii and mannn it was wacky and fun as hell lol
Man I really enjoyed this game
This game and Warhawk were the first PS3 games I really got into. I still love them both.
RoboCrab is the best video game character, after only Sigurd. I wish we got a continuation of RoboCrab’s app addiction lore though.
One of my favorite games…idk why but if I can find time, I play it.
Loved the weapons in this game ❤
Lloyd is Welsh, they use double L to make a different noise
i love the guns in this game, so much.
Finally, someone calling for a reboot of Battalion Wars. I thought it was just me! That game rocked.
I remembered when this came out and just walking up to a wall to stare at the detail
Bro battalion wars reference! That game is 🔥
