- Ghost Recon Future Soldier is the most futuristic game out there because the soldiers receive real-time Facebook notifications during combat.

It's wild that the military technology in this game turned out to be more plausible than games using Kinect past 2010.
💀
b-but just dance is still great, right?
I'm sure they could release another one
@@davidsplooge14Don’t worry timmy, I hear the new one’s in beta
You know it's the current year in America when the Ghost Recon: Future Soldier tactical cops ride a robo crab through your wall and flashbang your dog to death because they misread the address on their search warrant.
Robo Crab's tragic experiences with the military-industrial complex really made this game work
Yes and according to the ghost recon community its holy
It’s definitely a sentient robo crab
Huh?
💯 🙏RIP 🙏
Pour one out fo the crab!
The absurd prediction was that Kinect will function to control the soldier throughout the ENTIRE GAME. Totally absurd
no, all future titles too.
why doesn't my kinect work with ghost recon breakpoint the ubisoft man said it would
Wait, did Kinect actually work with this game?
@@zrl1017 Yes as someone who played it at the time, it had some kinect functionality but i am spacing on exactly what it was now.
@@DawnApon damn, wish I had been on xbox instead of PS back then. That sounds awesome
The sheer number of hours I spent in the weapon customization menu and firing range alone is insane. What a great game this was.
This game did the crazy weapon customization before it was cool. Before COD and tarkov
Proto gunsmith
Only Tom Clancy game I ever played and I had a riot with it
@@idrisrobinson5393 the real OG was Army of Two the 40th Day tho
@@rocknrollrulesu2 Wish there was a remake I could play co op from my PC with. The 40th Day was god tier co op gameplay
The predictions may have been absurd but that armor is amazing
story is wack but the drip is gooood
All except for the bad guys prediction that no train would come along these train tracks. That prediction was so off.
What're the odds of a Muslim Arabian girl wat watching a video of oboe?
Literally dripping
In future warfare, it’s either drip, or drown.
I really liked the mission where the enemies start fucking with your HUD. They jam it or something and you have no idea what’s real and what’s not. I just wish they fleshed it out a little more since I remember this part going for a solid 5 minutes before soldier army man tells you to turn off the hud.
I actually remember all 4 Ghosts in the campaign, I think "soldier army man" was codenamed Ghost Lead
And yeah that mission was in Georgia IIRC, I think it was the bad weather that made their cross comms act up or something
@Omegaforge1 yeah I think it was them and it was overlord who shut down their gear in response to it acting up, forcing you to finish the rest of the mission without the cross comm that always tells you your combat status
It's so good.
@@TheUltimyrArchives Yep, there's Ghost Lead, 30K, Pepper, and Kozak.
Also, it wasn't the weather fucking with the CrossCom, but someone (presumably a member of Bodark) hacking into it.
@@ZeOHKaypretty sure it was jamming
Funny thing is most of the stuff in the game does actually exist in some way today including the Robo dog (even armed ones) and the AR helmet, hell the next generation sight for the US Army's Next Generation Weapons Program literally has an irl aimbot built in.
Yeah, a lot of the stuff in this game was being worked on at the time the game was made
@Based king no you have not
@Based king Story time... I mean unless you are lying but nobody lies on the internet.
@@Gatorade69 I don't know if any units have had their hands on prototypes of the sight but I know for a fact the 82nd airborne division is playing with the AR goggle things. I'm sure someone in uniform or contractors have been able to use it though, I mean how are they gonna develop it without people testing it?
@@FateBringsMe2U You are right. I just think it's funny that everyone instantly calls people liars online when they say anything that is interesting. I mean people are liars, so I understand but thats why I asked for Story Time. Would be cool actually hearing about it instead of "Oh I tried it, wasn't good."
"That one was my child. My wife is not gonna be happy." Absolute god-tier line
Future Soldier wad a damn good game though. The multiplayer was so fun as well. They turned the servers off this year though.
My friend was still playing it in 2017
not really my man, the servers on PC got restored, see the videos I post on my channel

"The rest of him is invisible, but he's got a pair of floating arms"
So he's the protagonist of Quake II RTX.
You know I used to think that was absurd but all the stories I've heard about people hiding with nothing but tall grass from people like 5ft away, a pair of floating arms would be pretty hard to spot
have you, like, never played any other first person shooter besides Quake 2 RTX?
Crazy how most of the stuff that was featured in Future Soldier was still in its prototype phase truly lived up to its name. Portable drone quad copters? Marine Corps and the Army has those down at the squad level. HUD? IVAS existed and its still in its testing phase I believe. Optical camo? Don't worry I believe they're still being researched as of now
One thing I loved about game was that aiming speed was controlled by all the stuff you tacked on your gun so folks who struggled with aiming speed weren't seriously handicapped while playing online. It also created guys who would build the most chopped up submachine guns to charge people who couldn't turn fast enough
I want not just a review, but a reading of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier Official Tie-in novel featuring robo-crab
Like it or not, this game is far more interesting than any Ghost Recon that came out after it
I mean the only games to come out after are only the multiplayer game that nobody played and the two open world games that have a story about as interesting as cardboard.
I wish they would return to the classic ghost recon 1 and 2 games I grew up with or at least the advanced warfighter type gameplay. Same goes for the classic r6 games too.
At least I still have games like arma and squad to help scratch that itch.
It’s a cool game, but for me the original Ghost Recon games are the best in terms of it feeling like it’s based on the real world. Of course their graphics and gameplay is outdated, but they were true Tom Clancy games through and through.
Ghost Recon WIldlands is really fun.
I disagree - because I like Shadow Wars on 3DS.
Still surprised people trash on Wildlands. Sure it isn't too tech focussed, but it's still a solid game.
Robo crab needs to become an actual character
Check his new Resistance video, Robocrab returns.
Man, Robocrab's life story really made me emotional.
One of my favorite games ever.
I remember even as a kid, using the mobile app to constantly customize my guns when I’d got bored.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one
I low-key would play a military game with two main characters, one Rambo like patriot and the other a robot plagued by regrets in everything it does
Same honestly. The robot's script would be from the writer's real life woes with life, relationships and stresses.
@@Sevensliders the robots script is just Marvin from Hitchikers guide to the galaxy
Ratchet deadlocked had a bit of that with the 2 robot guards you get aspetto companions. One is a scared recruit and the other wan a veteran. They had good lines but few in general
Most of this was actually pretty accurate, besides the weird optical camo most of this stuff does now exist or is in the prototyping phase
Optical camo should be close behind. Remember, if you see news about a “new” US military R&D project, there’s a chance we already deployed it.
@@BIGMANLOGJAM we can see it in Samsung Flip phone, the screen is special, it is flexible so you can turn it into a wearable chameleon skin.
a rudimentary optical camo is exist, it is just a thin Oled TV that you can place in front of you to hide behind it, like fictionalised in Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, hallway scene.
@@sety5591 That is an excellent point. Forgot about bendable screens entirely.
Robo crabs. Are they real?
Not only is there a Ghost Recon Future Soldier avatar skin…. I am also the proud owner of such skin… as a matter of fact. My Xbox 360 avatar is still wearing that skin today 😅
Mine is still wearing the MW3 pre-order Delta uniform
Mine had that skin but I switched to the Crysis Marine skin.

Honestly the last good GR game made before the franchise fell to Ubisoft's open world sameness and before GR got turned into an unwanted battle royale game, which is thankfully canceled
I won't hear this Wildlands slander
Sgt.Odsaze is one of the unlockable specialist from the original Ghost Recon 1
Btw a calculator and wires can be Important parts to build a improvised explode device, as shown in the game they are connected to a artillery projecile wich is used as active Substance just a Energy Source to that and you got your IED
The book Chokepoint is unironicly quite good actually.
I really enjoyed the Ghost Recon Novels.
@@Sabastian2000 Me too, i haven't read the newer ones though.
@@arnaudvanveeckhoven1633 definitely recommend them and the Splinter Cell Novels.
Had this game for a good few yrs before playing it but I'm glad I did, was a pretty fun experience and the gameplay bangs
If nobody said it yet, the OS on the terminal at 6:22 is supposed to be sorta BeOS or Haiku. The yellow partial title bars are their thing. Also, I want a RoboCrab standalone game.
oh man, I loved this game growing up, it felt so cool playing it ages ago when it came out
There's also a companion short movie, Ghost Recon: Alpha. Honestly the best thing that came from these "modern" Ghost Recon games.
I for one would thoroughly enjoy a video covering robocrab’s continuation arc
I remember a trailer of this game where one of the guns have a attachment hook where you can climb walls, sadly it’ll never be reveal as it was cut.
Oboeshoes: "You signed up for the Army, what'd you think was gonna happen?"
Robo-Crab: "I only signed up for the money."
Boy, do I have some bad news for Robo-Crab...
I really enjoyed this game. But I've been a fan of Ghost Recon since 2010.
I actually enjoyed this game so much, played the campaing like twice and spent some time in multiplayer too, the gun customization was so cool and somewhat realistic for its time
this veteran's day I'm giving thanks to robocrab
I actually did read a couple of the Ghost Recon books back in high school. They were kinda fun.
I want to see a review of the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier official tie in novel featuring Robo Crab
Played this on co-op with my buddy last year. Wish GR would go back to games like this, it was a lot of fun.
i remember watching the trailer for this game so long ago. the game was still fun but i was so different from the trailers
You should play the advanced warfighter games. Advanced warfighter 2 still has one of the most memorable sequences for me. It also has the best multiplayer in the franchise imo.
I remember getting this game brand new, honestly had some genuine fun with it even if it was pretty generic. The weapon customization was awesome and the co-op mode was solid af. Iirc it was the last Ghost Recon to drop before the franchise just completely lost whatever identity it had left.
Also “this won’t even get 2 hits on the web” man no one talked like that even in 2012, come on hahaha
What a fucking great game it is, loved it played it a ton
This was possibly my favorite ghost recon game, loved the level design
The couch co-op in this game was so fun I remember playing through the whole game in a weekend with my cousin
7:53 sounds like Steve Blum which is awesome. I used to play advanced Warfighter on the PlayStation 2 and it's fun. The Saga of robo crab is truly something else would be interested to hear the chapter of the book with Robo crab
I remember the age where there were unlockables tied to mobile games; I farmed out xp in the Farcry 4 arena mobile game until I unlocked all the guns I wanted in game and never touched it again
Robo-Crab out here making Titanfall 2 references!
"Robocrab was fertilizing Steven's crops" Genuine lulz. Thanks dude, you made my night with that one
The only thing I can think that might happen in the future is adaptive camo, essentially the colors around you get reflected onto this special material that changes its colors to better fit your surroundings
yes, it is simply just wearing flexible OLED display, by covering the whole cloth with led, military can make it show a variation of camo that suits the surrounding.
@@sety5591 I believe I don't think it would an OLED or any type of display
It's just something I could realistically see happening
Like this is a type of cloth that already exist it tries to match the colors of the light bouncing off of the colors surrounding the user
i specifically remember my cousin using the word smorgasbord while we played through this game when it first came out. dont remember the context but when you used that word it unlocked a memory that was long lost
I love this channel, it's like you found a box of my grandpa's old games
I remember an interview with the devs and they said they we consulting the military with current and future technologies. She even went as far as said they were modern warfare before modern warfare LOL
You know Ubisoft make video games and are not considered part of the military industrial complex, right?
Can't be accused of war crimes if you're invisible
The technology was absurd but this is still my favorite game.
Thank you, for giving some attention to one of my favorite games of all time
Imagine if Ubisoft kept their promise with the Kinetic and they made Rainbow 6 Siege on it?
The Bodark theme HITS
😂😂 thanks for sharing this man. Made my night. God bless! :)
Honestly it's the most down-to-Earth future warfare game there is. The only thing I'd say is "absurd" is the Optical Camo, or Adaptive Camo? This thing has too many names. Other than that and the Warhound's ability to identify targets (given recent events) everything else seems pretty plausible
Came for Ubisoft, stayed for robocrab. Walks like crab, plays mobile games like people.
9 year old me loved the crap out of this game, I would play it over and over
god i remember this game. i bought it because i loved ghost recon. it became call of duty and perished.
The night vision looks like thermal and white phosphorus put together
Great video as always!
Just wanted to point out that Peshawar is a Pakistani city which is located in South Asia, not Middle East.
robo crab saga gotta continue
I feel like robo crab is my best friend I never had
The only thing I asked Santa for this Christmas, is 25 days of robocrab
Robocrab Advent Calendar. Every day is a new Robocrab
I used to love playing this and future soldier two .
New game idea, Tom Clancy's: Robo-Crab, you literally just play as Robo-Crab throughout the entire game, with Oboe being Robo-Crab's Voice Actor
“Good, That’s one less loose end” - General Shepherd
I actually got to playtest this game with a group of kids way back before it came out. I was in some after school class that was all dudes and we got to go to the "Dev studio", it was called and play the game. It was pretty awesome.
All hail Ghost Recon
7:52 Aww man, they roped poor Steve Blum into this didn't they?
4:10 Miraak vs John Henry Eden vs Druzhina, who would win in a battle to control Raven's Rock
Wish they went back to this , I remember playing this 24/7 at my brother's house good times 😢
"What have I become, my sweetest friend..."
7:49 did he just magnetize to the chair for the cutscene? lol
The last great Ghost Recon game before it went open-world
Shame that most of the cutscenes are unskippable, though
Ex. the pre-rendered videos are skippable if you hit ENTER key, but not the in-game cutscenes IIRC
It's nice to know where they got the idea of the division from.
I miss this game I’m glad they added the camo into breakpoint
That game went hard when it came out imo
Future soldier was my favourite game for so long, it was such a fun game
Great video, it's gonna get like two hits on the web!
They shouldn't even put Tom's name on it anymore.
For an old game that no one remembers, this looks pretty good and well made. Maybe not all the way through but short clips look pretty nice at least.
Even the graphics don't look that dated except for the gray town near the middle.
It is. It has a cult following. The multiplayer/coop was a lot of fun.
The game was excellent in terms of technicality. It functions well and its smooth in every aspect. However, the game is boring due to the generic level design.
Ah yes, the mid game with an unexpectedly banger song in the middle of the game
I can see the influence this game had on "The Division"
I had a lot of fun with this though its actually the main series game I played last so far. I had all the games up to Advanced Warfare 1 on my PC or PS2. I got Advanced Warfare 2 soon after getting my PS3 at the end of 2011 (November but due to a road trip I didn't seriously start playing it until after Christmas) but the next non-portable Ghost Recon game I got was Breakpoint.
Then a few months after getting Breakpoint I got WIldlands and its DLCs where I discovered that the protagonist of Future Soldier was an Engineer. If I had known that when it first came out I probably would have pre-ordered it. I definitely would have gotten it much soon because an Engineer protagonist, or the option to play as an ENgineer is one of the things that bumps a game higher on my to get list.
One thing I remember annoying me in this was how long it took to unlock a full-auto Assault Rifle through campaign progression. I know there was a challenge that could unlock one sooner but whatever the challenge was I couldn't pull it off and just unlocking through defeating missions the first one didn't unlock until almost halfway through the campaign, IMO there should have been one in the first set of weapons unlocked by completing missions even if they had to add an extra Assault Rifle to the game.
The amount of money I'd pay for another ghost recon game like this.
I could have sworn you had 2 new videos up like half an hour ago
This is still my favorite game. I just like it. Simple as
I was obsessed with the multiplayer mode on this game, may just be nostalgia but I remember it being so much fun.
What did you guys play it on?
@@co.1157 the 360 I even tried playing it with the Kinect, it was as bad as you'd think
So a friend and I pre-ordered this game through a local gamestop when it was first announced. For whatever reason they assumed it warranted a midnight release so we decided to go. We were the only two people to show up and at 9pm the only employee there walked up and told us that if we'd leave he would give us our copies early so he could to home and go to bed lol.
Fun fact this game takes place a year before breakpoint.
