I remember how it would unlock pieces of lore and how people quite naturally worked together during gameplay. Well, most of the time. Sometimes, it did go wrong.
As a kid, the things that made you want to keep playing the singleplayer in these games were achievements, but the reason why Resistance & Killzone was praised is because they had actual good and innovate multiplayer for the most part.
I'll always remember this game because I was literally too scared to play through the section in Bryce Canyon with the Swarm, literally had horrific night terrors about the Swarm from age ten to like fifteen or so where I'd wake up screaming and thrashing around.
Bro when i was a like 9 or 10 or something i was watching my dad play the water part and i got the fright of my life and the cup of 2 minute noodles went everywhere and covered my face. Traumatic experience
The one thing that blew my mind on this is the glass physics. Shoot a window and watches sunglass breaks out then shoot the little pieces of glass left in the frame and then shoot the other little pieces left in the frame.
Hope you'll get to cover Resistance 3 soon. The biggest enemy in the game is not another alien lifeform or a human traitor, but the installation screen before you even get to the title screen

I was a tester on the co-op and multiplayer modes. Was a lot of fun testing as the game went from texture-less structures to the full game. I even did the gameplay footage that I think was included in some collector's set.

I forget if it was this game or one of the other 2, but I think there were radios every few levels turned to a station where a random guy would be narrating what's happening with him as a regular civilian. His whole saga spanned like multiple in game levels. I always thought that was really cool.

I really miss Resistance 2, I used to play the online multiplayer coop 8 player mode constantly back in 2008 or 2009. I played it a lot because my grandmother, who was like a parent to me, was dying of breast cancer so it became my comfort game where I could just mindlessly play and grind and have fun with others without pressure. The problem is the entire online component is completely gone, there's no PC port, and the service has been taken offline. So no way to play the online coop anymore, which really sucks :( Edit: But yeah I don't remember anything except towards the end of the Resistance 2 campaign for SP. R1 was way more memorable with the single player. R2 was more memorable with the coop online multiplayer.

I have this game's platinum, I love this game. Co-op was fantastic with 8 players and the multiplayer was super fun with 30 vs 30 in small maps. I miss this game, I hope they revive the multiplayer with private servers like with Resistance 1.

One thing i was sad about is that they got rid of the weapon wheel in Resistance 2, and instead used an call of duty max 2 weapon system, wich is a damn shame. Because the weapon wheel system is what allowed you to engage fights with whatever weapon you wanted.
Most unforgivable sequel sin: decreasing the amount of weapons you can carry.
