Useful guide. If you want a bit of an easier gameplay with ground target skills, use the following: Ground targeting: Instant Snap ground target to current target: Enabled This allows you to use ground target skills as skills that work on the selected enemy. You lose some precision that ground targeting gives you but makes casting quicker and easier. Recommended when you like the casting that many other MMO's have, including Guild Wars 1.
Yeah, GW2 is notorious for this. I use Yolomouse mostly because in the past this was the only way to solve the issue. Nowadays GW2 has it's own settings for a bigger mouse arrow as the video shows.
This one is extremely important, I’ve tried everything in that option menu and make it fit to my playstyle, even now im still change for each specific game mode , role , profession
This vidfeo is absolutely helpful! I was revisiting my settings after years unchanged, some of these made the game feel fresh again and i'm also finally using addons which i refused for so long
Highly recommend player names turned on just to find some hilariously named characters like Cuddles Your Mother, Pedestal Turd, U Can Call Me Mommy, Kecskesajt (Goatcheese) and many more I can't recall right now😂
I hadn't revised my settings in years until a few weeks ago, when I found out the standard cursor with the bright outline was NOT an addon lol Good video - I do like some water reflection for immersion, and for me there was no extra performance cost though I realize that varies from system to system.
A really good video. Long enough but not as long as many so bonus points for you. I learned quite a bit. On remapping keys, I've always been afraid to take the plunge for two reasons: - I worry about how long it will take me to regain my current fluency. aka, I don't want to be at a speed/smoothness disadvantage that gets me killed for who know how long? - Important options are different for different classes, particularly on the F-keys. For example, F1 is a major key for Reaper Shroud but a similar major key for Holosmith Photon Forge is F5 but I don't assign the same importance to Chronomancer Continuum Split on F5. Second Example: Ranger: F1 is pet Attack My Target, F3 is pet Return to me but on Mechanist: F6 is pet Attack My Target and F7 is pet Return to Me. So consider me timid.
"I worry about how long it will take me to regain my current fluency." You know yourself that this will only get worse the longer you wait. ;-) These are my keybinds: Dodging and Healing on mouse buttons (e.g., mouse wheel click (M3) for dodging). Utility skills 1-3 and elite on q,e,r,c. Profession skills 1-5 (default: F1-F5) on shift + {Q,E,R,C,F}.
getting FOV to around 55-65% helps a lot in maps like amnytas and the wizard tower map + environment to minimum can get u some respectable FPS (also dont forget to lower shadows)
Indeed, the downside of a high FOV is that: The more you see the more has to be rendered. If you have low FPS, lowering FOV will lighten the load on your system a bit increasing FPS.
Binding keys to specific mount has been helpful for me. I can switch from raptor, springer, siege turtle to skyscale without going through the dropdown. I found this very helpful for me in exploration/travel and fast paced combat (if you are able to get out of combat). I have 'X' as may default mount key and Alt + as dedicated mount key
Got all of mine on the numpad numbers. Raptor 's 1, springer 's 2, skyscale is 6 etc. I don't even think about the "springer → aerial dismount into flying mount" trick anymore, (the one where you hit the dismount key as the endurance of the springer empties, so you get launched into the air) num 2 (mount springer) hold space (high vault) X (before jump) num 6 (mount skyscale) dash, dash num 5 (dismount skyscale) , num 5 (mount griffon) 🤔 hm, seems like I do think about it after all
6:33 the only time double tap to evade ever was a problem for me was the wintersday and halloween festival JPs ... other than ithat i generally do not see an issue with it for slight movement adjustments press w/e directions you want to go in and go bak and forth between going forward and w/e side you are trying to go to.does the same effect you want and it's pretty fluid in combat.
If you join metas i would advise to turn off Npc names as this is the only option i found out ,that disables Necromancer pet names and there is a lot of them ( ranger pets as well) Wish there was a option just for pets.
the snap ground target isnt a bad option it centers AoEs on targets ideally most aoes would be good to center on enemies and bosses, esp for damage over times to ensure theyre in the best spot and to prevent having to use the cursor to aim the aoe they let you hotkey to swap it on and off also incase u have to aim your aoe exactly like for pulls or something (but u can just untarget an enemy and do that anyway too)
best setting for most group content is all low settings except character model limit ... make that medium or something so things don't feel lonely and out of whack when you see like 3 people melting the ley line anomoly
@@alexmarvin3093 but then what's the point of playing Fashion Wars 2? On a more serious note: Most options that make the game look easy better don't impact performance much, so turning down "all" settings, as you wrote, isn't necessary. Shadows, reflections and the two character limits are the most impactful ones. No need to make the game look like ass for little benefit.
For me I'm always turn player name off. I don't really have any reason to see all players name at all time especially during meta. I wish I can also turn player pets (mech, minions, ranger pet) name off. For the about face if you're mainly use free camera it is a good option. But I'm switching between action cam and free camera base on class like in bladesworn for example I'm always on action cam since there're only 1 ground target skill with very close range. In action cam if you press a move direction your character will directly look on that direction without any setting.
@@boutch1993 A high FoV is important in challenging content, so you can see all the mechanics happening around you, but it's also less immersive for exploration. I wish there was a way to change it on the fly, e.g., shift + scroll wheel.
I don't like Show All Enemy/Player names most of the time. There's no reason? There is: visual clutter. If I wanna see those names, I can still hold Ctrl or Left Alt. For any PvP situation or any tougher content in general, I turn enemy names on. I really wish, we could set these things per game mode. I also disagree with the camera settings, especially field of view. A maxed out field of view lets you see more stuff, but it breaks immersion. You feel disconnected from your character and you also can't take in the world as well. If readability is the only thing that matters, why have beautiful graphics at all? All models should just be wireframe boxes. Again, in PvP situations, fractals etc., visibility is key, so all the way to the right the slider goes. You'll not only waste dodge rolls with double-tap to evade. Two words: jumping puzzles. "I can't imagine why you would wanna disable AoE rings." … which only shows a lack of imagination. Again, it's about immersion. GW2 was designed so that the 3D visuals in the world convey most relevant information to you. Really important AoEs have the solid orange areas anyway. For chill open world gameplay, disabling AoE Rings can be quite nice. "Lock Ground Target at Maximum Skill Range": I don't disagree with checking this on, but I disagree with the general sentiment displayed throughout this video: "There's no reason …". If there was no reason, then the option shouldn't exist in the first place. AoE ground targets can help to distinguish structures with geometry that you can stand on from such that you can't, primarily in jumping puzzles. Reflections and Shadows: These are good tips for performance, but … Reflections can drastically change how a body of water looks. Shadows turned off just looks bad and wrong.
-nosound? I'm glad I don't know you. Just kidding, but that would take away a huge source of enjoyment from my game. And all nameplates are just an eyesore

I adjust my camera settings for something on close thirty person like Resident Evil 4... it's more immersive and fun sometimes 😊

I hate how Show all NPC names also shows players pets even if you have other player names disabled

thanks!

exactly, and if I really wanna see all friendly names, I just hold Left Alt.
Field of view: just keep it at maximum if your pc is not a potato... Like mine. Believe it or not, this setting can dimish your fps in game.

Why? Just use a button. I have it on a mouse button, it's faster too.

Steam Deck gang be like.
it's a chill setting, but can be a hindrance in challenging situations
Instant aoe is best
