Dec 2021-still relevant. FIXed some targeting problems & REVOLUTIONIZED my gameplay; quick cast, max range, about face, look behind, stow weapon, & more 🤯 Thank you-🙏
This is awesome, thanks for this. I've always struggled with getting good comfortable keybinds that don't just overwrite everything causing me to have to go back through over and over. Currently using all your keybinds and it flows perfectly for me. Seriously appreciate the effort put into this.
I must say i am new at gw2 (just this week playing) and i also speak spanish. Out of all the videos u can find out there in spanish and/or english you r the one who explained everything the best xD i was rlly struggling a lot with the default setting and trying to figure out what was everything. So i rlly want to thank u for your video and say that u just won a subscriber! 🤘
Omg I cant believe i played for a whole year without realizing some of these options even existed. Like yeah I have an mmo mouse and I have messed around a lot with keybinds, but man the Combat/Movement section of this video has been HUGE for me. Thank you thank you!
Just now returning after about a 15 year break from GW2 and came back absolutely overwhelmed with an elementalist lol. These keybinds were still a huge help, even 3 years later. Much appreciated!
Thanks Rheyo. My keybinds are set up to my liking (see below), but the Lock Ground Target at Maximum Range is fantastic!! Makes life for my renegade much easier. I shifted my WASD to ESDF, and 6->Q, 7->W (which is always a stun break ability), 8->R, 9-> T and 0->Y. Always in easy reach. F1-F5 I use a combination of mouse tilt (L and R) and SHIFT mouse tilt. You'll need gaming mouse software to bind the tilt wheel, or XMouse - a fantastic little utility I use for all games. Non-combat (ie low priority) keybinds eg (G)uild, (Y) LFG are shift-G and shift-Y etc. Also mount Skyscale is mouse middle button and mount raptor (or your ground mount of choice) is shift-middle button. I also use the radial mount addon (bound to Z) for easy mount selection. The special ability keybind is A and to go down on Skyscale is G. I'd really recommend the ESDF, QWRTY keybinds. They're not my idea but I can't remember where I got them from.
Yeah I’ve heard of similar keybinds, I have a few buddies who have shifted their wasd keys over to esdf as well. I’ve considered it, maybe one day I might because that’d allow a lot more reach to some of the more unused keys.
I posted about ESDF before seeing your post. My setup is a little crazy maybe, but basically, my F keys are 1-5, and my 1-5 are (W R Z V T), my 6-10 are (Mouse4 Q B X Mouse5) Dodge is A, Special Action is Tab. Also you can do lots of shortcut keys with Shift- , Alt-, and Ctrl- ... like all my Mounts are on Alt- shortcut, Alt-R or Alt-W, etc to switch fast between them.
I wouldn't call myself new to gw2, but realized today that I've resisted using a mouse (yes, I spent 2 years in guild wars on a trackpad!) because I needed both hands on my keyboard due to 6-0 default keys and I'm just not fast enough for WvW. This was a great video, calming and clear explanations, thank you so much!
A trackpad only on gw2 sounds like an insane challenge! That’s crazy you could pull that off. Thanks for giving the video a watch, I hope it could help!
There's some of these things that I was aware of, but never made the effort to switch some of them around. This was a good visual example of things, and I think I'm gonna finally make am effort to change - particularly double tap to dodge. Also, cool to see the keyboard view! Thanks for the overview! Fun story: When I was having trouble with wrist pain, I would actually toggle action cam on and off depending on what I was doing quite often, as action cam gave me problems with ground targeted skills, but didn't require me to press mouse buttons as often to turn the camera. I definitely wouldn't play that way on a good day though - just adds one more thing to keep track of.
yeah for sure, action camera takes some strain off the left hand (for someone who needlessly spams their autoattack skill, heh) farming meta maps is great with action cam, labyrinth during halloween? action cam 100% I've gotten so used to playing without action cam, so the idea of it completely taking over my gameplay is foreign to me, and like you mentioned, the AOE's are different when placing which is a thing I don't really like when playing in Action cam.
What I learned from this video: 1. Free camera is the setting ive been searching all this time to run better. I could possibly not fail every single JP now 2. I find my healing skill slow af because I have ground targeting on normal Appendix: Rheyo gets mild motion sickness from a sensitive mouse Rheyo took a typing class The reversed camera = major mindfu** at 16:19 Many thanks daddy!
Great video, Rheyo! I'd like to give another tip that might work for some. I changed the default 1,2,3,4,5 keys to be q,2,3,e,r as those are the closest distance possible to the movement (w,a,s,d) keys. For the default 6,7,8,9,0 (those are SO FAR!) I use the same keys but add the ctrl modifier. So they end up as ctrl+q, ctrl+2, ctrl+3, ctrl+e, ctrl+r. This means that the main TEN skills are all a single key-space away from my movement keys! (I can't remember if those are my EXACT keybinds right now, but that's the general idea of what really works for me)
that's a really good idea, do they ever double activate at all? Like for instance, if you hit your ctrl + q, does it activate q as well? It does this in Runescape for me, but their tick system is also much slower. I haven't tried doubling up options like that with many keys in gw2.
I might try this aswell, for my setup (I did this because I hated keyboard setups in general) I have my Capslock key rebound to Lft Ctrl using a progam called keytweak. my Left Control is rebound to Esc, and my Escape key rebound to Caps Lock doesn't work for everything such as kernel controlling programs like steam, but for most everything else it is a dream. For the life of my I can't understand why Capslock gets such prime real estate.
I've played guild wars since prophecies and have always been a casual player. Eventually, things progressed and adapting to new content became more and more challenging (especially if you don't have a streamlined interface with the game's movement/physics). This is often something we ignore and even attribute to lack of player skill, consequently also developing bad habits and ultimately taking away from the experience. The devil is in the details!! Thank you so much for making my quality of life better in a game i already love
I highly dig the keybind suggestions and explanations as to why, it's been a while and a bit has changed it'd be amazing to see some type of update video to the new options, I'm a bit new and I'm sure tons of others would appreciate a blueprint of what can or should be used with the added keybind options!
Saw this video a bit late. I would change F1-F5 to more accessible keys since pressing any of those keys even quickly requires you to take your hand off wasd/other important keys. Also "Next enemy" prioritizes the highest priority target. It requires you to have nothing selected(excluding teammates). Very nice video overall
I use standard enemy models. Helps a lot in WvW since you always know what you're up against without getting misled by all those outfits and infusions. So that guy that likes to use the smallest Asura thinking it will be harder to get targeted, sorry, it simply doesn't work. Plus, less models to process and better performance.
i play untamed and i have my keys like this: weap skills on Q,E,R and 3 (sounds weird i know but works perfectly) and the utilities are on alt + A,Q,E,D - the profession skills are on f1-3 (pet skills) elite is on " ^ " and unleash i have on M3, dodge is on M4, change target M5, mounts i have on shift + Q,W,E,R,F,G - this set up is so nice to work with and im rly glad i changed it this way, it fits my kind of playstyle perfectly.
after 8 years in gw2 i never had touch a guardian ever and i have to say that for some reason after watching a CM guide you made me want to try it. You the reason i now am main Guard/FB/DH / player!! keep it up bro!! content you make so complete over all gw2 aspects!! you make the *hit the like button video* before i even watched it :D p.s. sry for possible bad english not english native speaker :P
4:15 Thank you for saving my life! In the very beginning free camera is defaults and I'm quite used to it. After a patch, that's looooooooooooong time ago, the camera is locked and I don't know where I can change it bc my Eng is too poor and I'm a game idiot too, I don't dare to change any game option even the game is using my own language Orz. 12:32 Wow this is really useful when I ride skyscale! Thank you! 18:19 I learn another new skill!! Thank you so much. I learn a lot today
Interesting! But to complicated in my opinion. I use shift+wasdfqe (and so on) for abillites. Just in these seconds i have to run full control by mouse. 1to5 is also possible to reach. And get rid of Capslock, thats my Keyboadlayershifter for another level full of exta keys without lifting one hand. For mounts selection you have a full numpad you can use.😅
My own personal preference for the weapon sets is shift 1or 2 and builds ctrl 1 or 2 and adding more numbers for more unlocks I have purchased thus keeping that all to my left hand as well. To add to this shift 1 is set up as my zerker set. shift 2- condi adding more sets for Unlocks I have picked up for each of my characters. Builds ctrl 1 for what you use the most and adding higher numbers more situational / other elite professions or just experimental builds.
Thanks a bunch for the video! I'm a new player and I'm still only doing PvE content but couldn't help but to notice just how inaccessible half the skill keys were! I had already done some tweaking like moving dodge to my gamer mouse thumb button, but I was looking at how do more experienced players do their skill and targeting setups. Thanks!
thank you! this video is super helpful I wish I saw this video before I spent 1000 hrs clicking ground skills twice xD edit: I finally realized why I always lost my target when I'm moving my camera around
I'm glad it could help! I didn't put much thought into my key binds for a couple years actually, started playing mid Season 1, but didn't bother with key binds until about a year or so after HoT's release. It made a huge difference in my gameplay though, it just gives you much more control.
Just started the game a couple weeks ago and I've been working on these settings. Sometimes hard to decide as you're levelling and unsure what your final build/skill selection will look like but you gave me some great ideas I hadn't tried yet. Great video!
Quick advice to anyone new to MMO's / GW2 - just bind Mouse 4 / 5 to Ctrl / Shift. MMOs allow you to use Ctrl / Shift + Any Other Key. You can add so many quick commands by doing this.
As a person who has been playing wow for over a decade and creating his own keybinds just as long. I still found this video very useful as a great many things are different. Also, I highly agree with you about how crucial it is to not have to move your hand and or take your fingers off of your movement keys. I absolutely hate console games at this stage in my gaming life over that very inconvenience.
Wow...Im so happy i stumbled upon this video. I quit this game after 40 minutes of playing cus of the action camera...or the "missing" action camera. Im taking a break from New World and really wanted to try this game only to find the movement and camera fked up imo. Now i can play and move around just like in New World. Awesome
Good info for people with a three or five button mouse, but Blish Hud + 12 button mouse is the premium way to play. Blish Hud allows you to map all your mounts to a circular dial for quick and easy access, and the 12 button mouse allows you to keep your fingers on your movement keys much more than this. Don't be intimidated by the amount of buttons on these mice, they will make the game easier to play after you've gotten used to it. Takes one or two days to get used to it.
Such a great idea with showing your hand on a keyboard! I often struggle as GW2 has a LOT of keys to press (i think i don't play any game that has more) and i still didn't really figure comfy binds for mounts and they keep adding them xD Really great solution you have there, never thought about mouse+keybord combo like that! Need to try this out :) Also huge thanks for going over all settings, learned many new stuff (Take target, sheathe weapons, Nearest Enemy, action camera...) that i didn't even know existed :)
Thank you for this video! I'm so used to having my right hand on my mouse that I often just click to use skills as my left hand could not reach 6 to 0 keys.
Anytime! Having those 6-0 skills keybound closer to your left hand will make a massive difference in gameplay, you'll have a lot more freedom to use your mouse hand for it's main uses like aiming/targetting/moving camera.
First time visitor, hi, I've also seen you in-game, I have keybinds set but seeing this you inspired me to change the ones I've been considering changing some. Thanks
played dark age of camelot for years, helped in the beginning, altho i will say that theres still no face key, whether it be enemy then face, target nearest enemy while facing would be a whole lot better target aquisition then an about face, meanwhile a camerapan around your character while moving with a camera reset as well. QoL. 1 can dream. in dark age you could kite while Camara panning, holding forward or running and left mouse.
Yeah the best way I’ve found to “target face” is to have my target, and then auto attack without holding my camera in place with my mouse. My character will automatically face the target and then I can readjustment my camera
Keybinds & Game Settings make a massive impact on your combat play in Guild Wars 2, and ever since I've set up my own Keybinds, I've noticed an insane difference in my reaction time & my engagement in combat! Enjoy the guide, and of course ask any questions you may have!
Dude.... I feel like a super noob watching your videos.. Played this game for so many years and pretty much I learn new stuff from your vids every time.. So much gratitude for you man 😍😍😍
been playing off and on since the game came out and although I customized my skill/mount keybinds I always struggled with the camera action until you clearly defined them for me thank you.
My keybinds left to right starting with autoattack Q, E, R, 3, 4, 1, 2, F, T, SHIFT Profession keys (I rebound mouse thumb button to right control so Im pressing thumb button plus keyboard key) RightCtrl + Q, + E, + R, +3, +4 Dodge is on Spacebar, Jump is on Left Control, Special Action on 5, Swap weapon on 2nd thumb mouse button. Stow Weapon on "`", About face left alt. Mounts on F keys, Interact on X
Great tips but the mount part seems more uncomfortable than necessary tbh, I have them binded to my number pad from most to less used 1 dragon, 2 gryph, 3 raptor, 4 warclaw... ect that way you don´t even need the radial mod thing, it is faster once you get used to it (number pad: on the right side of the keyboard works as different keys if someone is curious)
imo, it can't be faster than the radial addon, because you need to take your hand off the mouse in order to press the numpad. I have the keybind for the mount radial as a button on my mouse. it is very intuitive.
i find that turn left and right was only useful on mounts. I had a habit of showing the world map, autorunning whilst mounted and you could still move effectively. If that makes any sense. However.... yeah makeing strafe A and D is a gamechanger. Freeing up Q and E for quick access stuff is great. I have E for heal and it just feels right as the heal skill is on the right side of your normal bar. Then i have Q for elite skill as this is more THIS IS IMPORTANT to use.
yeah I could see that 100% for mounts, I've used strafe since prior to PoF so I haven't really tested it out with the default keybinds. The difference I've noticed in strafing though is just really something else. There's so many times I'll be in fractals and I'll see some party members running around in circles and it just puts them in awkward situations, and I used to have the same issue. Rebinding the Heal skill to Q, and f5 to E was a big changer for me as well, that's the keybinds that would be used for like healing stones/mana stones in other mmo's I've played so it felt a little natural making that change as well.
Hey of course! I started GW2 on a laptop so I 100% understand! When I upgraded to a desktop & starting using a mechanical keyboard it was almost like I was relearning the game
I don't understand your reasoning against the radial addon. It only shows up on your screen when you select a mount and the art style of the addon is so good that it looks like an official feature. Also, quickly switching in and out of action camera is very nice, if you set the toggle to a mouse button. Both the mount radial and action cam toggle feel very intuitive on a mouse button, since both have something to do with mouse movement.
I don’t have any issue with it at all, I just prefer to keep as much in game as possible. It’s a good add on and looks nice, I just prefer to Keybind it in game if I have spare space.
Rheyo, please give ESDF a trial, instead of WASD. You will have so many more keys that you can access more naturally. I have no idea why WASD became standard/default in gaming. You will have to readjust some keys, some relearning, but I think its worth it, IMO.
Thanks this is very very helpfull, I tried to change my keys but maaan it didnt worked LOL, my skills are set on right numbers 1 to 5, 6 to 9 are profession, right enter to dodge and i dont mouse for targeting just to support the camera.
Cycling through f1-f4 constantly on my ele drove me nuts in mid combat cause i have to stop pressing WASD to change element. Getting a mouse with extra buttons was life changing for me. Thanks for the tips on about face. never used it before, going to practice using it
I click directly on the skills and i target and move the camara with commans. So my mouse pointer all the time is down and near of the skills. I have a mounse with extra buttons but i use that buttons for evade and targeting.
Thanks for the detailed guide! I needed to change some keybinds and you gave me some great ideas! Also found out I forgot to add the Special Action back on my mouse shortcuts after reinstalling some software
Thx for taking the time and uploading this video, i saw you using a lot of settings options which i wasn't aware of ,was very helpfu!! If you dont mind, Can you plz tell me if my controls are okay cause u talked about spamming keys I'm lvl 80 (was just doing story mode so kinda newbie) and still getting clapped by bosses and pvp.. (i use laptop i dont have a desk) i was too lazy when i made this controls but if its wrong i dont want it to stuck in my head when i change controls. Characters: Thief and Elementalist. (Elementalist is the issue here am planning to go to toughness build cause die a lot but maybe its the controls too). Movement: WASD Weapon skills : Shift - AXDSQ Heal and other skills: Shift - ERFCG (G for ultimate) changing fire water air earth :1234 autorun as it is R I already changed A and D like u said Strafe left and right instead of turn and its really effective! I am trying to think of a key for target lock and trying to learn "tap" changing targets kinda confusing during fast match look behind and about face are Z and (the scroller in my mouse its clickable) Based on your experience, do you think this build is smooth for movement while attacking or I'm missing something ? Thanks.
As a new player, useful guide. What would make it more realistic would be for you to include footage where you use hard to reach keys during intense moments. It's one thing to show binds when the Golem isn't moving but I want to see it in a real situation. Anyways, just my 2 cents.
I start playing gw2 after I play a lot of RPG games that have an action camera and I'm not familiar with the original camera control of gw2 at all, so I toggle the action camera. The only problem I have is the targeting bc with action camera I have my auto-attack(skill 1) at left click, so the target is on the right click which is hard for me to target the boos especially during the world boss when there are a lot of targets lol I know people who toggle action camera on and off during combat but I'm not good enough to do that lol. I also have my other skills around the movement keys too and yesh heal on Q bc it's the fastest key for my finger to reach lol
I feel you, I have some friends that solely play in action camera and they’re great at it, I personally can’t play like that. My opinion just comes from my background, if you’re used to action cam due to that being your background then it’s completely feasible to make it work as I’ve seen plenty do so.
You don't need to toggle Action Camera on and off to mark a boss or any target that might be behind other targets. AC are built up on the default TAB-target system which this game where design around from start. It is to a large degree a Hybrid between both. Set up key bind for Take Target and Call Target. This way you will have larger symbol above main target (this also works for items and objects which will make a short red ping on minimap which is useful when you need to show other people something). With Call Target you now can see boss or main target even when there are a lot of enemies or player around. You only need to set up Next Target or Closest Target (it will rotate through all target - prefer Next Target as it will also make it possible see info on targets that are too far for Closest Target to mark). This way you only need one key instead for two (back and forth among targets aren't useful as either they die before you can get back to that target or you will auto-target when you start to attack target - this depends on how you set up AC in Option). You also have to be aware that the white dot in the centre of screen work as an aim (in TAB-target system you use cursor to aim). This means that might want to adjust your setting in Option for how high up from character ground this dot should be as default and use scroll wheel to adjust up and down when needed. This is the more harder part during a fight to keep your centre (white dot) at right level so you either jump (teleport) or use (instant cast) AoE in the right place for AoEs which can be targeted. Here you have to adjust the angle of your camera to get to the right position instead of rotating the ground and point with cursor where to land or attack with AoE (TAB-target where you use one mouse button or two to rotate your camera (ground is here the white dot where you character stand) to get right direction. That is why most PvP player use TAB-targeting instead of AC system as you don't need to adjust centre point and move at the same time with directional keys for movement. You use cursor instead to point and activate skill. I don't like to rotate ground this way as I am used to AC and get dizzy from too much moving at the same time, but it is one reason why it is slower as you need to adjust targeting with camera much more and get into position relative to target. On Skyscale you will to to be back and as far in centre as possible with white dot to get those Motes in air as if you get too high up with dot you will rotate mount around your dots position meaning you will do left or right turn when are moving not the same way as being on ground with your character. You loose precision to catch Motes in a line or you will fall down from cliffs edge on Springer, if you don't place dot as close as possible and behind mount. Use "Lock Auto Target" to clear (detarget) Next Target will clear marked target (but not Call Target), so it is useful if you want stop an attack or need to get back to look for which target you need to attack first.
Really like this guide, a lot of the advices are great, only sad there's not more recommendations for swapping the F keys, I can see it's not that much of a problem on your... Revenant, is it? But I'm playing Elementalist and man, it can get so far when you gotta swap attunements often :D But might use your utility recommendation for that instead, cos swapping is more of an issue to me than my utility. But love all the other tips! Thanks for the guide!
Thanks for this video. I have small hands, lol so I always try to have it to a minimum otherwise I usually end up with hand cramps. I’ve tried different key binds but always end up back at defaulted key binds which means reaching over for the mouse becomes annoying.
@@joshuaroe1402 I did. I got a Logitech G600 awhile back. But it was still too big for my hand and Just ended up with hand cramps after half an hour or so. Otherwise I really like the MMO mice 😊
I find the F keys a bit too far myself, I mapped one of my extra mouse buttons to alt and added a bunch of alt+ number or alt+ letter to my keybinds... That being said I liked moving the interact key a bit further from the wasd, going to try it later. Also did not know about the free camera option D:
Much appreciated my friend, apologies for taking ages to get back to you! I feel you on action cam, although I don't use it I have plenty of friends who do & they swear by it!
Thanks a bunch, now I go around popping dragonhunter traps everywhere :D Haha I've been meaning to work on controls for a while but I only started now... Muscle memory is hard to break after 600 hrs in the game... I didn't even realize how often I use autorun for some reason... I guess because I'm doing a lot of OW and farming...
The key binds in this game are so complex that I want to add another button between my space and left alt and a mouse with 2 extra keys above lmb and rmb.
I have always tried to use 1-5 for weapon skills but it is just not working for me. i have Q, E, R, F, Shift + F for weapon skills, Mouse 5 for healing and 1-4 for utility and elite skill
I prefer to go with 1,2,3,4,5 then |,z,x,c,v for right side skills so the keys are the ones over and under my WASD. I use Shift for dodge and I remapped most things that requires Shift+something else with Alt instead.
that's a good idea, I have a similar set up to this in Runescape 3 actually (of course much different game) this kind of set up really helps with not accidentally hitting the important keybinds
I believe it’s because the devs didn’t want players gatekeeping others based on their gear. I could be wrong but it’s a similar reason to why they don’t have dps meters included in-game
Did you try binding F keys to shift plus regular numbers 1-5? I have very similar setup to yours. Utility at Q,E,R,T, X for elite. Weapon skills at 1,2,3,4,5 and F abilities at shift plus 1,2,3,4,5
Gosh I can't even imagine using function keys for anything lol, that sounds mega uncomfortable. Then again it's not like I have those keys anyway, or number keys for that matter. I've got everything bound to QERFV for weapon, shift with those keys for utility and ctrl with those keys for profession. I literally never have to move my hand at all.
gosh this was helpful! but also... not XD... like this is my first ever game that requires such mechanics and i'm all the more impressed cuz i started to realize what kinda level pro matches are on! but honestly, how the hell do you train free camera mode stuff most efficiently? i've started to feel kinda demotivated right away since with default cam i could run through mobs and just mow them down but now i'm mostly missing attacks and dying even at lv 45 XD... do you have any tips on that? (i'm playing thief btw... kinda the worst choice in my case, i know...)
Thanks. You're attitude towards community and gameplay is an important part of why I enjoy your content.
as a new player it was really really helpful to know which abilities and interactions i need the most ...thank you so much
anytime, I'm glad it could help!

@@Rheyo ty so much
Omg I cant believe i played for a whole year without realizing some of these options even existed. Like yeah I have an mmo mouse and I have messed around a lot with keybinds, but man the Combat/Movement section of this video has been HUGE for me. Thank you thank you!
Hey man, I was playing for like 2-3 years before ever touching them! Keybinds make a massive difference in playstyle!
Just now returning after about a 15 year break from GW2 and came back absolutely overwhelmed with an elementalist lol. These keybinds were still a huge help, even 3 years later. Much appreciated!
THANK YOU FROM 2022 PLAYER HERE
Thanks Rheyo.
I definitely wouldn't play that way on a good day though - just adds one more thing to keep track of.
yeah for sure, action camera takes some strain off the left hand (for someone who needlessly spams their autoattack skill, heh) farming meta maps is great with action cam, labyrinth during halloween? action cam 100%
I've gotten so used to playing without action cam, so the idea of it completely taking over my gameplay is foreign to me, and like you mentioned, the AOE's are different when placing which is a thing I don't really like when playing in Action cam.
New player here. Tried those keybind tips for 5 minutes and it feels sooo more fluid!!! thank u very much. GG!
What I learned from this video:
1. Free camera is the setting ive been searching all this time to run better. I could possibly not fail every single JP now
2. I find my healing skill slow af because I have ground targeting on normal
Appendix:
Rheyo gets mild motion sickness from a sensitive mouse
Rheyo took a typing class
The reversed camera = major mindfu** at 16:19
Many thanks daddy!

I have 1-5 weapon skills on side of mouse, and shift+1-5 for f skills, then Q, E, R, T, C for the 6-0 abilities. Game changer for me :)
@@Rheyo Almost positive I've never double activated. Didn't know that was even possible :P
Interesting, I may need to redo some keybinds :p
I might try this aswell,
for my setup (I did this because I hated keyboard setups in general) I have my Capslock key rebound to Lft Ctrl using a progam called keytweak. my Left Control is rebound to Esc, and my Escape key rebound to Caps Lock
doesn't work for everything such as kernel controlling programs like steam, but for most everything else it is a dream. For the life of my I can't understand why Capslock gets such prime real estate.
thx i might to do this setup as i lack a 5 side button mouse
I've played guild wars since prophecies and have always been a casual player. Eventually, things progressed and adapting to new content became more and more challenging (especially if you don't have a streamlined interface with the game's movement/physics). This is often something we ignore and even attribute to lack of player skill, consequently also developing bad habits and ultimately taking away from the experience. The devil is in the details!! Thank you so much for making my quality of life better in a game i already love
This is simply the most important part of gw2 to know and it has been done rarely in vod. Gg dude.
This is really nice for veterans that want a new feel in their movement
Oh my goodness. Amazing vibes, amazing video. Thank you so much !
Thank you!
Hey of course! I'm glad the video could help. Good luck with the new keybinds!
This is really helpful. I last played 6 years ago and this explained all the stuff that I've forgotten or never had an idea about.
Thanks!
thank you! this video is super helpful I wish I saw this video before I spent 1000 hrs clicking ground skills twice xD
edit: I finally realized why I always lost my target when I'm moving my camera around
I understand that completely. If you can just nail down a comfy place for your 1-0 skills then you’ll be in good shape.
As a brand new tab target mmo player this video was invaluable! Subblscribed ❤️
Wish I had found your video before I started playing this game; it would have made my life way easier. Excellent video.
Hey thanks for giving it a watch man, enjoy the new binds!
Something that WoW have and GW2 dont. Its the posibility to create macros.
Awesome
About time someone did one of these. Well done. #gw2 #gaming #mmorpg #newtoguildwars2 #gw2guide
OUTSTANDING WORK,SIR! My Compliments to the Chef that cooked this one up!
Glad you enjoyed it my friend
Wow, you definitely play GW2 a llot. Very well thought out guide
Like wow, this totally improved my game-play by leaps and bounds....thank you for sharing...
I’m glad this could help!
First time visitor, hi, I've also seen you in-game, I have keybinds set but seeing this you inspired me to change the ones I've been considering changing some. Thanks
anytime, im glad you could get something from it!
Rheyo, I appreciate you making this video. My gameplay has gotten significantly better, thank you!
I’m glad to hear it!
played dark age of camelot for years, helped in the beginning, altho i will say that theres still no face key, whether it be enemy then face, target nearest enemy while facing would be a whole lot better target aquisition then an about face, meanwhile a camerapan around your character while moving with a camera reset as well.
My keybinds left to right starting with autoattack
Q, E, R, 3, 4, 1, 2, F, T, SHIFT
Profession keys (I rebound mouse thumb button to right control so Im pressing thumb button plus keyboard key)
RightCtrl + Q, + E, + R, +3, +4
Dodge is on Spacebar, Jump is on Left Control, Special Action on 5, Swap weapon on 2nd thumb mouse button.
Stow Weapon on "`", About face left alt.
Mounts on F keys, Interact on X
Great tips but the mount part seems more uncomfortable than necessary tbh, I have them binded to my number pad from most to less used 1 dragon, 2 gryph, 3 raptor, 4 warclaw... ect
that way you don´t even need the radial mod thing, it is faster once you get used to it (number pad: on the right side of the keyboard works as different keys if someone is curious)
This is a good use. I use those for my equipment templates / build templates so I can’t store them there
imo, it can't be faster than the radial addon, because you need to take your hand off the mouse in order to press the numpad.
Rebinding the Heal skill to Q, and f5 to E was a big changer for me as well, that's the keybinds that would be used for like healing stones/mana stones in other mmo's I've played so it felt a little natural making that change as well.
thank you for this video. for tuning the options and for filming your keyboard when demonstrating using your skills. Very usefull.
I’m glad it could help!
So helpful.. Thank you..... I play on laptop so keys are closer can get frustrated but loving game so far.
Thx alot.. You've made my life so much easier in GW2. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Cheers.
Of course, I’m glad it could help!
My first time seeing a video like this made a massive difference in my gameplay!
This is truly a great post, imoo, but I came for a " how to ", map all 3 mount abilities... sad :(
Rheyo, please give ESDF a trial, instead of WASD. You will have so many more keys that you can access more naturally. I have no idea why WASD became standard/default in gaming. You will have to readjust some keys, some relearning, but I think its worth it, IMO.
Hey I saw your other response as well. Yes this is something I’ve considered, I might give it a try!
Hey of course, thanks for checking it out!
Very helpful to me as a new player. First visit to your channel and I'm enjoying the help. Thank you.
Thank you so much, as a new player this has helped so much.
I’m glad it could help!
Movement: WASD
Weapon skills : Shift - AXDSQ
Heal and other skills: Shift - ERFCG (G for ultimate)
changing fire water air earth :1234
autorun as it is R
I already changed A and D like u said Strafe left and right instead of turn and its really effective!
I am trying to think of a key for target lock and trying to learn "tap" changing targets kinda confusing during fast match
look behind and about face are Z and (the scroller in my mouse its clickable)
Based on your experience, do you think this build is smooth for movement while attacking or I'm missing something ?
You should get a mmo mouse with the keys on the side of the mouse. It made playing these games so much easier for me with much better reaction time.
@@joshuaroe1402 I did. I got a Logitech G600 awhile back. But it was still too big for my hand and Just ended up with hand cramps after half an hour or so. Otherwise I really like the MMO mice 😊
Nearest Target keybind was good tip. Thank you
I find the F keys a bit too far myself, I mapped one of my extra mouse buttons to alt and added a bunch of alt+ number or alt+ letter to my keybinds...
That being said I liked moving the interact key a bit further from the wasd, going to try it later. Also did not know about the free camera option D:
That’s a good idea, I’ve considered doing that myself actually it seems like it’d be a good idea
Great guide man! I'm a big fan of the action camera Coming from action combat mmos
Much appreciated my friend, apologies for taking ages to get back to you! I feel you on action cam, although I don't use it I have plenty of friends who do & they swear by it!
Thanks a bunch, now I go around popping dragonhunter traps everywhere :D
Haha I've been meaning to work on controls for a while but I only started now... Muscle memory is hard to break after 600 hrs in the game...
I didn't even realize how often I use autorun for some reason... I guess because I'm doing a lot of OW and farming...
plop, plop, plop.
Old habits are hard to break for sure, but if you're breaking them for better ones you're doing yourself a big service!
Such a useful video! Thank you for making it
Glad it could help!
Thanks for this content 👍
Sweet set up you have on your keybinds.
thanks my friend!
I prefer to go with 1,2,3,4,5 then |,z,x,c,v for right side skills so the keys are the ones over and under my WASD. I use Shift for dodge and I remapped most things that requires Shift+something else with Alt instead.
that's a good idea, I have a similar set up to this in Runescape 3 actually (of course much different game) this kind of set up really helps with not accidentally hitting the important keybinds
addon GW2 radial is awesome, lets you use all mounts with 1 key, also there is an ingame dps metter addon
never thought of using B for interact, very nice!
This is wonderful. Thank you.
No INSPECT character function in Guild Wars 2. Is there a deeper meaning of this?
I believe it’s because the devs didn’t want players gatekeeping others based on their gear. I could be wrong but it’s a similar reason to why they don’t have dps meters included in-game
Dope video love your rs3 content also!
Thankyou so muh it will improve my gameplay a lots
Of course, I’m glad it could help!
Thanks for your efforts, well done :)
homie this could be 4 full vides i just wanted a quick vid explaing how tf im supposed to reach with small hands
I am So happy I found this video
I’m glad it could help!
This is very useful, good content!
Much appreciated!
Great guide! Thanks so much! Got some good ideas from it
Damn this is very useful information. Thanks!!!
This is very very helpful. Thank you!
Did you try binding F keys to shift plus regular numbers 1-5? I have very similar setup to yours. Utility at Q,E,R,T, X for elite. Weapon skills at 1,2,3,4,5 and F abilities at shift plus 1,2,3,4,5
i haven't tried this, there's a few people i've talked to that do this though, it's a good idea
I literally never have to move my hand at all.
more content man, this was great!
Much appreciate man
thx bra i have a had time find some of these options
anytime!
Good video bud.
This helped so much, thanks a lot
I’m glad it could help! 🙌🏼
I learned so much from this video I'll have to rewatch it xd
gosh this was helpful! but also... not XD... like this is my first ever game that requires such mechanics and i'm all the more impressed cuz i started to realize what kinda level pro matches are on! but honestly, how the hell do you train free camera mode stuff most efficiently? i've started to feel kinda demotivated right away since with default cam i could run through mobs and just mow them down but now i'm mostly missing attacks and dying even at lv 45 XD... do you have any tips on that? (i'm playing thief btw... kinda the worst choice in my case, i know...)
very helpful, ya just earned a new sub :)
So helpful! Thanks
I want to ask how can i control my necromancer pets and use the target sustem
