For IBS masteries: if you are doing dragonstrom event often you might wanna max out "dragon slayer" mastery line. Dragonstorm has a rare drops called "Pristine dragon's left eye" and "Pristine dragon's right eye" worth around 1500-2000 gold but they can only drop after you have the last mastery unlocked from "dragon slayer" mastery line. Edit. A-net changed the masteryline name from champions to dragon slayer at some point

Great video! Would like to add that maxing out Arborstone Revitilization if you have EoD is a good one too. The 5 weekly Antique Summoning Stones is a decent easy weekly income of about 14 gold or important if you want to eventually make a gen 3 legendary weapon. Defo comes after prioritizing the ones outlined in the video though ^^
Finally a guide video that actually gives good information. Most guides that says "easier way", isn't the easier way. Or "things you should have". Isn't usually the most important. In this specific video everything you said is what I consider a must to have for a beginner and that will be useful in any content they will pay later on. Like updraft will be useful even later on even on other maps. Even if you have flying mounts.

I would like to quickly add, that if you want to get into raids you will require the ley line gliding mastery for one of the final bosses... so if you are gonna go up to advanced gliding do grab that if you plan on getting into raids
guys dont waste points on springer 4th mastery, its such a waste of points, even if u jump from anywhere too high while mounted, the mount will die and u can just resummon it, that only if its vulnerable to fall damage... yeah griffon, skimmer and dragon wont die no matter how high ur fall, not only that jackal u can activate its ability before it lands and it will reset the height? like if u activate it at a certain point i will be the new point where its falling from, so u can just cheese it and activate it before landing and it will survive, so that mastery point will only be worth for 2 mounts? (dont have beetle nor turtle for now but ill be honest with u, u can always just let the mount die and resummon it) u are better off getting jackal 4th one (evading attacks, debuffs etc while dashin/using ability is op af) or just save those points and use them elsewere
Any last ability of any mount is useful to all mounts and might come in handy. So if they follow what this video said they will be good to go and eventually they will want all masteries, specially to share them with other mounts.
also for hot if you are into raiding to pick up ley line gliding, cause there is at least one boss that is impossible without (had to learn that the hard way)
This is a great video for players who haven't taken the time to fully understand the Mastery System. I noticed that for myself as a solo player who got killed every time I entered any of the HoT maps, I didn't learn about the Mastery system until Path of Fire was released. Was it just so much easier to gain Mastery points in PoF, or was it easier because I was more interested in getting all of the mounts, and I found the story interesting? I don't know, but eventually I had to get better at playing GW2, so I could go back to the HoT maps and finish all of their Masteries. I was forced to do this when I started crafting the Chuka & Champawat Legendary shortbow, as it required me to finish all HoT Masteries, before I could complete the crafting of that shortbow. I'm glad I did that, and have all of the HoT Masteries completed, because many of them are needed to participate in Raids. I also noticed that I have completed most, if not all of the EoD Masteries, because I enjoyed exploring an area of Tyria that looked different than core Tyria and the jungle of Hot, and desert of PoF. I haven't completed hardly any of the SotO Masteries though, and don't know when, or if I ever will. Thanks again for this video.

I just feel like SotO is far enough into the game that most players will be able to figure out what to prioritize for themselves. The only one that might take priority could be the skyscale
slight misinformation: the legendary crafting mastery is not needed to craft legendary gear. it is only needed to craft Gen 1 and 2 legendary WEAPONS. I have an account with a set of legendary armor, the raid ring and ad Infinitum that doesnt have that mastery, it didnt even have revered antiquarian at the time of building the backpack, the ring or the first piece of armor.
I'd advice people to max the ice brood saga essences masteries specially if they do strike missions a lot . the blue/red/green chests pay really well and the pylons associated with them give you nice buff in strikes

If you are reading this you must understand that Autoloot is the second greatest Quality of Life Mastery in this game, second only to any skill that helps you not fall to your death! Gliding, Flying Mounts, whatever. But not spamming F in a fight is amazing.

Disagree with springer final. That was literally the last mastery I got of POF. Kinda worthless when skimmer, griffon and skyscale take 0 fall damage and jackal can avoid it with a dash. So it really only helps raptor, beatle, warclaw and turtle. And even if your mount died you were only dismounted. Jackal dash=dodge was way more useful it let you run through alot of areas that you'd get dismounted trying to get through.
Find friends in the game so you can complete the few difficult achievements. Most of the achievements are easy, and the mastery insights are as easy as using any Vista viewpoint. Besides, playing GW2 with other people is way more fun than playing solo all the time, believe me, I've played thousands of hours solo in GW2, so I know. Find a guild and reach out to other players. You might surprise yourself.
You can get the mounts out of order, but the game tries to guide you to get them in a certain order. Not many players will skip to the later maps before they get the mounts on the first map they encounter.
This list has several flaws here and there. For example: icebrood saga you want every faction at 3 of 4 first for daily strike missions. And basic gliding levels are enough when you have the flying mounts
Autoloot is absolutely the first priority. Core mastery points are quick to get, regardless, so really not a big deal if you prefer to jump straight into fractals instead

New Warclaw pve mount has a mastery that nullifies ALL fall damage for that mount, too

If you ever decide to get into raiding maxing glider is wise there are a few wings where you need leyline and updraft.

I just played gw2. and bought the path of fire dlc. but I'm confused about how to get mastery points apart from achievements which are too difficult

Play the story, you get MP by completing chapters.
I think you get gliding automatically, without needing a mastery point.
Also I think you can't just pick a mount, you need to go in order.
