I'm 15 years old. I've wanted to become a pilot since 2006, the first time I was ever in a plane. Since then I've been passionate for this career and exited on when I can start it. I can finally get my student pilot license from where I'm from, and I can't wait when I'm in a Cessna 172 doing my first solo flight. I want to fly long haul for emirates or Lufthansa, And I want to fly the Airbus a380 or the Boeing 787. I hope I can follow my dream and achieve what I've always wanted. Mentour pilot you have really showed me a clear path on how I can achieve my goal.
i want to thank you sir for giving us time on your videos. even though your very busy. i like how true are you in helping us answer our questions. you are very detailed! in explaining. thats why i just subscribed! thanks sir! someday i want to be like you. to help others also.
Great video. Always wanted to fly as a kid then somehow lost the dream during my teens and early twenties. Was reinvigorated in 2003/2004 around 30yrs old after questioning life behind a desk! Went and got my PPL and had a blast. Started exploring route to go commercial and got offered a place on the integrated course at OAT in Oxford which was going to cost around £65k. Decided that this was best approach due to my age and need to try to get into the industry as quickly as possible however decided not to pursue it at the last minute. I thought I just didn't want it quite as badly as some of the people I met when going to selection centres. Many seemed to be dead set on flying as the ONLY thing they were ever going to do. I definitely made the right call in hindsight. I still love everything about flying but I just couldn't bear to commit to it as I saw it as a one way ticket. I wonder how much an integrated course is now at CAE Oxford (which is think is what OAT has become)? I guess probably £150k or something.
Roughly £100,000, depends on what course you take as they offer a few. Some cost upwards of £130,000 as you are also paying for a type rating. This is going off of memory so I might not be entirely accurate :).
I would love to fly for RYR, I'm in love with the 738 and the way that RYR operate is perfect to me, even if you have a base that you don't like you can always manage to get back home. I know that you don't like to talk about your own airline or a specific airline but I will and many of us will appreciate that you speak about yours.
Great Video! Forgive me for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you heard about - Rozardner Flying Bird Reality (just google it)? It is a great one off product for how to get pilot license without the hard work. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my GF after many years got astronomical results with it.
Lovely video content! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Rozardner Flying Bird Reality (google it)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for how to get pilot license without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my old buddy Taylor after a lifetime of fighting got amazing success with it.
My dream job? Long haul pilot for Etihad Airways for a number of reasons: I was born and I spent my entire life in Abu Dhabi so I'll be right at home, and frankly I've been to many countries around the world and there is no place I loved more than AD Etihad has been and will most likely stay one of the top airlines of the world for the forcible future, The salary is incredibly high and tax free It has a beautiful and very rapidly growing fleet I can get promoted to Captain pretty quickly unlike some other airlines where it takes up to, and sometimes more than 10 - 15 years Why long haul? The aircrafts are amazing (I'm hoping 777 or 787 Etihad operates them both) I am 18 and just started flight training that means I should be 19 by the time I have my frozen ATPL, so no family responsibilities that can be a downside when spending many nights away from home, Getting to go far away to beautiful destinations and see the world I've been flying my entire life and have always enjoyed long flights I could stay up all night counting reasons... Also another thing, I have no experience with that so I might be wrong, but I think joining the airline as a Second Officer on a widebody jet is a fast track to moving up in the airline, what do you think Captain? PS : My budget is tight now but I promise you as soon as I start working and receiving a salary one of the first things I'll do is become your paetron you're just so awesome!!
Hammaz Mcdawi Fawaz u have almost the exact same dream job as me only I wanna do long haul to Dubai but still on etihad...I'm still younger tho I'm only 16
NileBird At this time you should be flying a single engine plane Right? Does abu dahbi has cheap but good flying schools? , because that can help a lot
thank you so much for this advice! I was starting to get discouraged by looking at the prices and the length of time it would take to become a pilot but it has been my dream my whole life and I'm willing to do anything I watched your video the whole way and I like that little bit of extra information you put at the end I will definitely start doing my research again and get back in the cockpit.. again thank you!
my dream is to fly for Emirates airlines on the A340 long-haw.......flying is something i have been enthusiastic about and i would love to do it for a living......i hope one day my dream will come....And thanks for your they are really helpful
My dream job in aviation would be a private jet pilot, because the routes are vary and probably it is easier to control a smaller plane. Thank you for your video, very informative! :)
great video captain ! The 4th way is an excellent way! As for me, I like Airbus A300 because it has the greatest view in the cockpit specially it's overhead panel that's slightly comes down, also the main panels are 50/50 analog/display so it's kind of old "new" school ) unfortunately there are in cargo duty nowadays.. and life as a cargo pilot it's not a miracle.. only night flights, moreover a company gives you to know about your flight before 1-3 hours.. The unique advantage is that they recruits low hour first officers ! (250-300 TT). looking forward to watching new podcasts!
Excellent Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Rozardner Flying Bird Reality (search on google)? It is a good one of a kind product for how to get pilot license without the normal expense. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my BF after many years got cool success with it.
Cheers for the Video! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you heard the talk about - Rozardner Flying Bird Reality (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a good exclusive product for how to get pilot license without the normal expense. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my best friend Jordan at very last got excellent success with it.
Lovely video content! Sorry for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you researched - Rozardner Flying Bird Reality (do a search on google)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for how to get pilot license minus the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my GF got cool results with it.
I just found your channel today and I am thrilled about it!! Thank you for answering questions with honest answers! To answer your question......my dream is to fly short/medium flights or as we call it here in the US, regional! The aircrafts I would like to fly are the Embraer 170, 175, 190, and the 195!! Again, thank you for such a great channel!!
Would getting a suitability test at 18 be ideal? I'm currently 17, and my dream since I was 5 was and is to fly the 737-800/900 for United Airlines. As well as working long or medium haul.
I think one important thing you left out is the medical. Basically everything else is learnable, if you put enough effort you can do and learn everything, even improve your personality, but if you fail on the medical exams there is no way to get around it. Okay that integrated courses do require you take the medical tests before you start the training, but if you go on the modular way you don't actually need a class 1 until you start your CPL and if it turns out then that you have some issue that can be a huge dissapointment. SO I think you should do your medical around the same time as your suitability test.
My dream job would be flying the 737 at FR from MAD, ALC, VLC, AGP or BCN. I tried to get in an integraded course last year. Unfortunately, I didn't get through the last phase of the selection process. Now saving for a modular route besides doing an bachelor in ICT.
I want to become a tour pilot for a little bit, & then become rescue or a skydiving pilot... The excitement of the two is hard to choose from but I love the idea of being in the sky for a living. Just wanting to avoid debt @ all costs.
Hi Captain. I know this comment is a tad late, but just wanna get it out there. :) I am 16 years old and British. I have lived in Spain for over 6 years and I've wanted to become a pilot for a couple of years now. When I first lived in the UK I always had something for aviation. My Dad would usually take me to Blackpool Airshow and I loved it, we would also visit war/aviation museums since the UK has a lot of history aviation related. Around those times I didn't really want to become a pilot, although I was interested in aviation. A couple of years ago (age 14) I realised that I need to find a full-time career that I would enjoy and love. I started to think about a job that would interest me such as becoming an aircraft engineer. Then I realised, why not become a pilot? I was starting to love aviation more and more since the day I moved to Spain. I would never watch anything aviation related, due to me thinking that it was really boring. But I started getting into aviation more than ever before and I started watching channels like Mentour, CptJoe and many more. I also love watching VFR Flying vlog-type videos. Many years have gone by and I'm fully dedicated to becoming a commercial airline pilot. I'm driven and enthusiastic about this career. I have a flight simulator program called X-Plane 11 and a yoke, throttle quadrant and a joystick for flying all my aircraft, and I love it. I'm always flying to some part of the world on it! Last summer I went to London to fly a Tiger Moth biplane at IWM Duxford and has been one of the best experiences in my life. I also went to a proper flight simulator in Central London to pilot in the cockpit of a 737. I also loved it. I'm just fortunate for having a family that are very happy for knowing what I want to be, and they push me to achieve my dream. I'm on my GCSE's at the moment and doing well on them. I shall complete my GCSE's and any A-Levels that I need to get and join a flight school here in Spain. Funding may not be an issue, but if it is, I'm fully prepared to save as much money as I can (Like you said in this video) And go out and earn enough money to do the training. My plan is to finish in flight school then join a short haul airline i.e. easyJet or Ryanair... I will get the full experience of flying with a life full of takeoffs and landings. After doing my part in any of these companies I want to move over to long haul routes in an aircraft like the 777x. I will help people get to their desired destination and make them happy! Thanks for another great video mentour. I now have a better understanding of how the whole process works. Peace!
Sir, thank you so much for all your videos. It has been really helpful. As for your question, It doesn't matter what type of pilot I want to become because I am open to all kinds of hauls. What motivates me is the thrill of flying, desire to travel and be up in the skies. I am crazy about flying and hope to be part of the aviation industry soon.
Good Advice! VERY reminiscent of what my youngest boy has just DONE! Alas he's going into science at the moment. He was offered the opportunity at a TOP University, but chose to remain in the North of the UK at another University. He too is thinking of Post Grad top up Cert! Another one you've forgotten is the Wealthy Partner who happens to be a SCHEMER! ;) Much rather have somebody for me than against me!
I’m 14, and for years I’ve been dreaming about becoming a pilot. I’d love to become a short-medium haul pilot flying the a320 family. I found the podcast very useful and informative however I have some questions. 1. If you receive training through a program not sponsored by an airline, what happens if you apply and get the job? 2. Are you trained to fly one aircraft? Or does you license allow you to fly any. I’m assuming you need specific trading to fly specific aircraft. 3. What are the best ways to raise money for the such high fees?
Bit late but im trying to help everyone by answering questions that mentour didnt so I'll answer yours 1. So there's intergrated course which are apparently favoured within the application process which is true in some areas such as British airways only hires new cadets through dovetail training. However there are MPL programmes sponsored by airlines such as Easy Jet you complete the training and then get put in a holding pool for the airline whos doing the MPL programme. 2. Funding- usally banks will loan up to 60% however they won't just hand out the money you will have to have a property or some kind of security against the loan however if you fail to get a job after training you could end up with losing the house which is on the security. I know many pilot who have done their training and struggle to get by just paying off the loan. Other ways is working and saving this is more ideal for someone younger it will take longer but it's worth it in my opinion 3 flying planes- so you're allowed to fly 1 type of plane for example you can only be type rated on the a320 however due to the cockpits of the a320, a321, a319 and a318 are so similar youre allowed to fly them on a a320 type raiting same for boeing aircraft, 737-800 700 300 And a330 and a340, these aren't included in the flight training and usally cost about 30k max however some (most) like fresh cadets like Ryanair and will pay for your type raiting but you'll be bonded so its usally a 5 year bond, sometimes with salary deduction or not Can I also add since youll be 15 can I say work your socks off in school at gcse and things and you'll do great Hope this helps best regards azhal ciao.
Will look into the suitability tests. I'm training modular in the UK based at Derby Airfield for my PPL and then looking to start my modular CPL training at Stapleford Flight Centre also based in the UK after coming to a conclusion of keeping finances low. I'm very excited about fulfilling my dream to become a airline pilot. I have also taken notes from your videos.
I really loved your video is clear as the water it helps me a lot thank you. I've search a lot of flying academy in Europe but they all cost a lot and I was a bit sad because I can't afford all the money but now that I've watched your video I am more optimistic :):)
I would like to do some bush flying for a few years prior to joining an airline. Because of the risky nature of it, I think bush flying will really help me develope my airmanship and aircraft handling. It also gives me my adrenaline fix once in awhile.
I would like to fly the medium-haul route from New York (KJFK) to St. Martin (TNCM) for Delta flying a 757-200 because 1. I can go to the tropics in the dead of winter 2. the approach and takeoff is stunning and 3. The route has perfect hours. Depart KJFK at 9:30, arrive at 9:30 w/ a hour and a half break between flights. Also, nobody is cranky on that flight (except for maybe on the way back up :))
Thanks for the channel, you're helping me a lot! You are without a doubt an example and an idol to follow. Well, my dream job would be to do small and medium-haul flights within Europe. Sometimes I go to the airport (Lisbon, Portugal) to see the planes to land and to take flight. Without doubt the best job in the world!
I would love to fly short haul as a captain! The next generation of short haul aircraft is really exciting and short haul provides more flexibility for family life as well as more action in the cockpit. My favourite aircraft is the 777 but I wouldn't sacrifice short haul for it unless the short haul market changed significantly!
Hi Mentour Pilot, I'm not sure on what kind of pilot I want to be in the future. I think I want to be a long-haul pilot because I want to fly around the globe but as I said earlier I'm still not sure. My dream aircraft is the A380 and I'm hoping that one day I can fly it. Moreover, I'm also not sure in what airline I want to work. I've dreamed with the Asian or Mid-West Airlines, but of course first you have to find a Job there. I've always loved flying and the environment of an airport but it was not long ago that I discovered that I want to be a pilot. I love your channel and all the videos helped me answered a lot of questions. I already watched a lot of videos on your channel and I've just discovered your channel 3 days ago This video in particular helped me a lot! Thank you very much for all the videos.
First of all thanks for this piece of information.I have observed one thing in this field is that every thing depends where your working and what kind of schedule you have.I guess the best way to get trained is by the 2nd and the 4th way.Im confused to get a degree after my pre university or directly step up for training
Fantastic video yet again.! I love your depth and enthusiasm in this video. its a real inspiration. I hope, like many , one day to meet you in person and thank you for your advise and motivation.! Keep up the good work mate. :)
Sir, m here from India and yea thank u for the videos that u make. They are damn helpful :) And I wanna become a pilot and ur video keep inspiring me thank you
i want long haul flights. international flights. i want to fly a330, hopefully. my reason for this is because the pilots lifestyle is perfect for my lifestyle. i dont know what else i would be doing primarily, if not an airline pilot. thank you for the video! i am from the philippines by the way, just started ground school. im doing ppl cpl ir. much love! god bless you!
I totally love this whole series of podcasts and the wealth of information that they have imparted to world, they are a huge service to the general aviation industry and to those, like myself, who would like to become a part of the aviation industry. As for your question, I would like to become a long haul pilot and fly a super-jumbo jet to and from The African Continent... If I was younger than 46, I would like to pilot one of the next generation hyper-sonic jets that are due to enter service in around 2025.
I'd like to do both long haul and short flights. Mostly short flights because long haul will tire your body out because of jet lag. Plus I'd like to spend time with the family at home. But once in a while, I'd like to do long haul and go for a nice vacation.
Also to answer the question I'd prefer to fly short- medium haul as I like the idea of going home every day. And my favourite airliner would be the B737-800
Just to let everyone know you can pay as you go for your taxi/private pilots license. My first pilots license was my micro pilots license (I only paid approximately £3000) then because I did not want to go to college nor university and wanted to join a major airline, I went to the airlines cadet programme or academy (mine was British airways at Heathrow airport). Although I did not get great grades in school I managed to get into the training. So just remember you can do what you want, they also offer disability services.
I really want to fly the Boeing 737 ! It really is best airplane ever in my opinion! For the time being I am a solo released plane and glider pilot in France ( I am 15). I plan on entering the government free school. An airline Pilote life is a dream life and flying is for sure the best thing ever, it provides sensations and a happiness you can't describe. See ya in the blue sky. Anthony.
Hi +Mentour Pilot, welcome back to Guys :) Yet another video podcast, We hope you're doing GREAT as always! Another helpfull, interesting and uplifting video, Thanks !!
I wanted to pilot the F-14. Highly dynamic, requiring great skill, hugely varied missions. Plus, if the common opinion is true the US Navy fighter pilots are asking the most highly trained and skilled in the world. I could probably write a long explanation for why I wanted that career but I hope that it came through in this brief. I did not become that pilot, it any pilot for that matter. At the time I had an all our nothing mindset and if I could not be a nasal fighter pilot I did not want to fly. That has changed but at 37 it seems late to pursue anything beyond a PPL for pleasure. If my vision is actually correctable via laser surgery then that has only happened in the last decade. Glasses would have prevented me from being a US Navy fighter pilot.
Mentour Pilot may I ask you what is the list of questions can I ask it to my flight school to be fully understand if they offer a good service or not ? As I heard from some of my friends that the school near by they try to force you to do more hours (instead of 45 for ppl they get you to do up to 65 ) and how can I stop that from happening thank again
I would love to fly long haul for Lufthansa. 777-9X is the aircraft I want to fly. That's because I love the roar from the GE engines, that you only get in a really large plane. I like flying to destinations around the globe.
well another great video! i would love to fly medium to short haul, probably flying the B737 or maybe an E190 just because on a short haul flight there is not as much time to get bored in the cruise and you will get to fly more of the interesting stages of the flight such as takeoff and landing. I think it would also be an amazing experience flying long haul as the planes are just so big, such as the A380, B747, B777. Some of the destinations will be amazing, but there are down sides like not being able to see your faimly.
great video. could I ask that in future videos you boost the volume? I am constantly having to max-out the laptop's speakers and yet find it not loud enough. thanks!
Hey, mentour, great video, thank you, and please podcast a video that, which is better taking a degree and join training or getting directly to the training. Which is much better and secure for the future jobs. Is degrees essential for pilot careers .hopefully waiting
I will see what I can do but I probably wont be starting to recommend flight-schools. The reason is that I cannot vet them all and I will not run the risk of recommending a school who doesn't deserve it. When it comes to re-searching schools, you will have to handle that yourself. I am happy to answer any specific questions if time permits.
Hello Pilot Mentour, I was wondering whether the airline sponsored way is often free of cost, because i know an airline here in Kuwait which offer scholarship, but the costs are on the candidates. This the very first video i watched in your channel and i love it so i subscribed to your channel! Keep up the great podcasts/videos.
Hello. First some medium haul on the 737NG, or why not the MAX in a few years. Long haul on the Dreamliner would not be bad either. Anyway...I would be so happy with any job as an Airline Pilot!
Boeing 787. Hand in hand with what this is. My dream haha What should we be reading and trying to understand before stepping foot in a classroom? I have got a couple books offline from the FAA that Ive really been enjoying but I feel its not enough. Great Video !! Very helpful
Hello sir, i had wanted to be an airline pilot since age 7 but as i went into high school my parents kept putting me down and discouraging me from my dream. Now I'm 19 and in the U.S. Navy , but my love for flight still haunts me. However due tothe fact that my parents ruined my ambition, I wanted to know what motivated you to stay on track and get through the challenges. At any point did ever feel like giving up? (I am indeed an FSX simmer)
with my respect to you i think you're talking about old generation of training The MPL programs which get you employed in maximum 2 years is the new generation of training in my own humble experience. i don't think there's people still doing PPL/CPL etc.
Can you do a video about suitability tests? Also would like to know your take on how old is too old to start training to become a a pilot (not necesarily a comercial one).
Could you make a video on how to start becoming a pilot at a young age. My parents Suppourt me in being a pilot so if you could give tips on when to start training and things like that. Love your videos great inspiration 😀
Really nice video ! I am currently in a FTO, started the ground school 1 months ago not the best part haha and your videos are really interesting. Maybe I'll see you one day in a Cockpit ! Thank you for your work. Michael
After watching the video in it's entire glory: I would love to fly short-haul in Europe on the 737/A320/E190, maybe the Q400, because I would become a pilot because I love to takeoff, fly, enjoy the view and land. I won't apply because of the destinations I will go to. I would love a easyJet/Ryanair sort of way: a lot of flying and most of the time no longer than 4-5 hours. However, if that isn't possible for whatever reason long-haul flying would be a blast as well. I also would like to be a flight instructor for some time, because I love teaching. So, more or less, pretty much everything where I am able to fly an airplane. :D
Hi, I want become an airline pilot and currently in secondary school. If I got to choose I would work for a short/medium haul airline like EasyJet. I also prefer EasyJet as they offer a cadet program. I would like to fly the a320 as I have a lot of experience with it in p3d and love the way it flies.
Hi! Aswer to your question is..... Medium-haul Airbus A321/A320 or Boeing 737, because on short-haul, flights are very short and on long-haul flights, are very long so medium-haul flights are the perfect balance between these two.
Answer to your question: I would like to work for my local airline and fly the 737ng... Thats impossible, my local airline has gotten rid of their 737s... Anyway I wouldn't mind building a living around an assinged homebase and I wouldn't stay with long haul flying because I like the fact that you actually have something to do throughout the entire flight. I was fascinated with midrange planes as a little boy and up until now. My motivation was the flightsim that my dad bought me when I was seven. Long story why I got a flighsim but I remember it until today. :)
Hello! my name is Ruben and I'm from Portugal. first of all I want to emphasise the idea of the brilliant person you are. These podcasts you do are such helpful and I mean it is fantastic to have someone who is inside the airline industry, and helping others who are in my case determined to do that. I'm 16 and in 2 years I'm gonna start my studies in a flight school. Here in Portugal there's a school called gair that provides the ATPL for about 50.000€ and I don't find it very expensive comparing to other countries. Now,answering to your question, I want to fly a PLANE it doesn't matter whether it is a Boeing or airbus but I have a tendency to choose the airbus because as you might know, TAP PORTUGAL flies airbus and I would like to fly for my country's airline. I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU, have you ever flown to LISBON? Did you like the approach? :) well I think it is everything! kkkkkkkk
Are aviation schools accredited or receive some rating like nursing schools do in the USA? For example, the first thing a person searching for a good nursing school should look for is to look for the NLN accreditation. There are 3 accreditation agencies, but I believe NLN (National League for Nursing) is the oldest. I haven’t practiced in many years, so I’m not certain of that. But an accreditation agencies looks at every aspect of a program or school to see if the people who successfully complete it can pass the national nursing exam and be licensed. I was wondering if aviation schools also have accreditation agencies that would assure any applicant that this is a well run, thorough program for whatever profession you are seeking. (In the 1970s and 80s in the USA not all nursing schools had NLN accreditation. Even if a state or university “accredited” a program, those in the know would check for the NLN accreditation and if it wasn’t there, they’d move on. Yes, you could take and pass state boards ((and become a licensed RN)) but many potential employers would look to see how well your school was run, to be certain you were thoroughly educated. I don’t know if, these days, any nursing schools exist without one or more of the accreditations. Back then, many did exist. I avoided those.)
***** Forgot to mention how much I appreciate your videos. Being a Pilot here in the USA isn't so exciting for me compared to being one in Europe (I visit Poland every summer so I know how much I love it there). Anyways, I was wondering how to make it happen, maybe through European flight schools such as Baltic aviation or oxford. The tricky part is that I live in the USA and I have a dual citizenship
First short haul (I think you have to start with that one, right?) on an A320, I totally love the Airbus and its cockpit. After a few years change to long haul on an A350 or A380, depending on the airline. Airline should be anything in Europe, but NO LCC, perfect would be Lufthansa, German company... A bit easier for me... Otherwise BA, KLM etc. Just that, what will be there on about 5-7 years...
Hello Captain! First I just want to thank you for the amazing work you have done here on youtube. It is priceless when such an experienced pilot like you gives you tips and shares his experiences. Maybe you have noticed it in some of your videos but I have not seen all of them yet. I am curious...What do you think about the Gulf airlines?
Hi Mentour! I am looking forward on becoming an airline pilot and I have been told that nowadays it is recommended to have university studies before you start any pilot training, that airline companies are looking for pilots with this profile. I was wondering if you could give me your opinion about this? Thank you!
I forget the video but he mentioned that during a pilot shortage, the Uni graduates get first jobs but they will hire those without degrees without a problem.
Good Morning Sir. Firstly I would like to thank you for all the knowledge you have given me, some which I knew and some which I NEEDED. So thank you. There is something else that is bugging me. If I go the modular way, which is kind of my only way as it is cheaper, how long would it take for the licences to expire (3-5 years? or do some not expire). Another question is to cut the costs of training, do I HAVE TO do the PPL and hours building parts of training or can I skip these. This would make training way cheaper and much more substantial for me and my family. Last question, if I finish with my CPL, ATPL written exams, Night Rating, ME and IR is it possible to get my fATPL from the school and then a job as a first officer and a small probably regional airline then maybe move towards my dream as being a long haul pilot later in my life. Thank you for your time and effort 🙌🙌. These are questions that people usually ask flight schools through email but they never answer and get back to you. so if you reply that would be great. Thank you once again
Greetings Captin, i hope you are doing well. let me start by thanking you on sharing such valuable information. My question is: Is 27 years old too old to go to aviation school and start basicly from scratch with out any formal experience of the feild? Thank you, and all the best!
Did you become one?
I’m also curious. It’s now December 2024.
i want to thank you sir for giving us time on your videos. even though your very busy. i like how true are you in helping us answer our questions. you are very detailed! in explaining. thats why i just subscribed! thanks sir! someday i want to be like you. to help others also.

Mentour Pilot what training did you do
Great video.
+Mentour Pilot Yes I can imagine, thanks for you reply keep going.
This is the channel where student pilots start their career.
Ser upp till dig, du är min förebild👍🏻😊
I'm prepared to be broke just to get a chance to do something I'm passionate about 😩

What now?
Update? U in the friendly skies?
My dream job? Long haul pilot for Etihad Airways for a number of reasons:
I was born and I spent my entire life in Abu Dhabi so I'll be right at home, and frankly I've been to many countries around the world and there is no place I loved more than AD
Etihad has been and will most likely stay one of the top airlines of the world for the forcible future,
The salary is incredibly high and tax free
It has a beautiful and very rapidly growing fleet
I can get promoted to Captain pretty quickly unlike some other airlines where it takes up to, and sometimes more than 10 - 15 years
Why long haul?
The aircrafts are amazing (I'm hoping 777 or 787 Etihad operates them both)
I am 18 and just started flight training that means I should be 19 by the time I have my frozen ATPL, so no family responsibilities that can be a downside when spending many nights away from home,
Getting to go far away to beautiful destinations and see the world
I've been flying my entire life and have always enjoyed long flights
I could stay up all night counting reasons...
Hammaz Mcdawi Fawaz u have almost the exact same dream job as me only I wanna do long haul to Dubai but still on etihad...I'm still younger tho I'm only 16
NileBird 13. I want be the long haul for the Emirates A380 and the Boeing 777-300ER
NileBird
At this time you should be flying a single engine plane
Right?
Does abu dahbi has cheap but good flying schools? , because that can help a lot
NileBird WHICH U IVERSITY OR COLLEGE YOU GO TO?
I AM 18 AND JUST DONE MY A LEVELS AND THINKING FOR EMIRATES AVAIATION DUBAI
WBY?
good idea
thank you so much for this advice!
It's great to have someone helping us dreamers to have a goal and some idea of how to achieve it!
Great video! Really appreciate what you are doing for us :D
Mentour Pilot what train did you receive
Ive heard some great things about it and my GF got cool results with it.
i went FAA and converted to JAA, little more expensive, granted. But the experience between the two was priceless to learn.
Save all the mula
Every single last penny
Hi Captain. I know this comment is a tad late, but just wanna get it out there. :)
I am 16 years old and British.
Bit late but im trying to help everyone by answering questions that mentour didnt so I'll answer yours
Other ways is working and saving this is more ideal for someone younger it will take longer but it's worth it in my opinion
3 flying planes- so you're allowed to fly 1 type of plane for example you can only be type rated on the a320 however due to the cockpits of the a320, a321, a319 and a318 are so similar youre allowed to fly them on a a320 type raiting same for boeing aircraft, 737-800 700 300 And a330 and a340, these aren't included in the flight training and usally cost about 30k max however some (most) like fresh cadets like Ryanair and will pay for your type raiting but you'll be bonded so its usally a 5 year bond, sometimes with salary deduction or not
Can I also add since youll be 15 can I say work your socks off in school at gcse and things and you'll do great
Hope this helps best regards azhal ciao.
I very liked this video and it helped to clear things out a bit. Only thing that keeps me back from starting a training is the funding.
This is fantastic!!! Good note about going to a school to do training and then a brand school to enhance pilot CV.
The fourth tip after the false ending was a nice touch.
My dream pilot job would be short/medium flights (within Europe) and the aircraft type B737 or A320 family :)
Btw, I watched the full broadcast ;)
Hi Mentour Pilot,
I'm not sure on what kind of pilot I want to be in the future.
I already watched a lot of videos on your channel and I've just discovered your channel 3 days ago
This video in particular helped me a lot!
Your videos are brilliant. Appreciate all of them. Thank you very much!
Great Video!Thank you!Really apreciate everything you do!!!
Sir, m here from India and yea thank u for the videos that u make. They are damn helpful :)
And I wanna become a pilot and ur video keep inspiring me thank you
i want long haul flights. international flights. i want to fly a330, hopefully. my reason for this is because the pilots lifestyle is perfect for my lifestyle. i dont know what else i would be doing primarily, if not an airline pilot. thank you for the video!
i am from the philippines by the way, just started ground school. im doing ppl cpl ir. much love! god bless you!
Amazing video, it was informative and entertaining! I loved the video in its entirety ;)
Anthony.
K, You can always get loans 😊
Soren Tyto Alba free school? Lol not in USA
Quality advice mate seriously helping me out here 💯🛫
Hi +Mentour Pilot, welcome back to Guys :)
Yet another video podcast,
We hope you're doing GREAT as always!
Another helpfull, interesting and uplifting video,
Thanks !!
Great video and great advice! :)
Thank you so much! Really enjoyed the last bit. Haha
+Hossen Ali Mir Great to hear!
It's awesome ... Great help to young pilot aspirants
I loved this video !! thank you very much for your valuable time :)
Great Video , left with another 200 to watch :)
Make a video on cadet programme, how to get thru it and what to prepare, so that many of us would benefit from this, thanks brother, much love
great video. could I ask that in future videos you boost the volume?
I am happy to answer any specific questions if time permits.
today is 23 august 2020 and this video is from 23 august 2015 .5 years thank you mentur
Hello Pilot Mentour,
I was wondering whether the airline sponsored way is often free of cost, because i know an airline here in Kuwait which offer scholarship, but the costs are on the candidates.
My dream haha
What should we be reading and trying to understand before stepping foot in a classroom?
I have got a couple books offline from the FAA that Ive really been enjoying but I feel its not enough.
Great Video !! Very helpful
i want to thank you sir giving much time for us. thank you very much sir
I'd like to fly medium haul, short haul maybe, more for the frequency of landings & take off
***** Thanks, please keep making great videos
Thank you very much mentour pilot.
Really Really appreciate it!
I live in the USA, I haven't heard of a suitablity test? Is this different from the medical certificate? If it is different, where can I find a test?
Thanks alot i was just looking into how to become a pilot
Hej! Jättebra video! Vet du om många elever från SPU/SAA får anställning efter deras utbildning?
Hello sir, i had wanted to be an airline pilot since age 7 but as i went into high school my parents kept putting me down and discouraging me from my dream. Now I'm 19 and in the U.S. Navy , but my love for flight still haunts me. However due tothe fact that my parents ruined my ambition, I wanted to know what motivated you to stay on track and get through the challenges. At any point did ever feel like giving up? (I am indeed an FSX simmer)
Never leave your dreams alone what your dream is thats your destiny
@@armstrongsecurity9238 I'm 28 and just now starting. Life is long. Don't give up.
with my respect to you
i think you're talking about old generation of training
The MPL programs which get you employed in maximum 2 years is the new generation of training
in my own humble experience. i don't think there's people still doing PPL/CPL etc.
however thank you for your videos. you're doing great job.
extremely good and useful sir thank u very much
Hey, you have a New fan now!!
Can you do a video about suitability tests? Also would like to know your take on how old is too old to start training to become a a pilot (not necesarily a comercial one).
Thank you very much for all this information. Definitely helped a lot to us who aspire one day becoming a airline pilot. 1 more subscriber.
Great Video quality. Nothing like it on UA-cam keep it 😄
Could you make a video on how to start becoming a pilot at a young age. My parents Suppourt me in being a pilot so if you could give tips on when to start training and things like that. Love your videos great inspiration 😀
Great Captain hope to get advices in the future too!
I m become a cpl course pilot very impressed u video
thanks for your advice. really helpful 👍
Thanks a lot for a great video!
I love your vids
Great to hear!
Hi,
I want become an airline pilot and currently in secondary school.
:) well I think it is everything! kkkkkkkk
Civilian long term flights, I love the buttons in the boeing 737
Thank you for your advice, much appreciated. Greetings from Puerto Rico
As a 19 year old living in the USA, my dream Pilot job is to fly the 787-8 for LOT Polish airlines. Basically being a pilot in Europe is my dream :p
Thank you!
+Mentour Pilot Thank you very much!
I forget the video but he mentioned that during a pilot shortage, the Uni graduates get first jobs but they will hire those without degrees without a problem.
last part is the best, all hope is back
Would want a long haul. Because of the travelling to different countries. Seeing different sites and different people.
+Shohiab Raza Thank you for the information, greatly appreciated
Make a video on cadet programme, how to get thru it and what to prepare, so that many of us would benefit from this, thanks brother, much love
Greetings Captin, i hope you are doing well. let me start by thanking you on sharing such valuable information. My question is: Is 27 years old too old to go to aviation school and start basicly from scratch with out any formal experience of the feild? Thank you, and all the best!
