Reminded me of flying orbit around cape Kennedy Now Canaverial for the night launch of Apollo 17. It was delayed by 2 .5 hrs so we flew back to Ft. Lauderdale EXC. and we watched from home. There must have been 150 aircraft in orbit !! AT NIGHT !!! kept us seperated by altitude ! And the light show was (running Lights and strobes) incredable !! 1972 dec. 6 6 souls aboard Cessna 337 N5438S Kevin and Jamie thanks for the ride !! Your the best !!!
Thank you Cathy...glad you enjoyed it! That sounds like an eye opening night you had waiting on Apollo 17! That's a lot of planes to be looking for at night my Twin Cessna friend. :)
I was stressing just watching the video, lol. Nice job keeping up with it all. I and a buddy drove to Sun N Fun several years ago and that was hectic on the ground. 3 light aircraft crashes that week, no serious injuries, will always remember that trip.
I love to watch your videos concerning flying in your airplane. You both are very classy and very funloving as a couple and a family. Please keep making your videos because you are so enjoyable to watch !! Love you Both .
Cool - I flew into S&F right after I got my private ticket back in 1988. I don't remember it being quite that hectic. 310 had a tougher go, when the RW was closed and they had to stack everyone up orbiting the lake that's when it seemed to get a little dicey. Back then they did not use the taxiway for landing but they did have noise abatement procedures in effect so we all had to approach close in to the RW and then do 45 deg plus turns to base and final. I was flying a 172 being eaten up from behind by a Prescott Pusher. Controller told me to add speed and land long, we landed simultaneously me in the middle of the RW and the Pusher on the numbers. The controllers they get for S&F and Oshkosh are elite. They are the best of the best and do an awesome job. NICE WORK 310 Pilot and co-pilot :)
First of all, you both are a great team! I love watching you both go places and figure out things together. This episode was one of my favs. You kept it calm and amazing in a stressful environment!!
It's funny because I hate crowds. I avoid them and big cities as much as possible. However, I love these big aviation events. After them I need a few months to get peace for my introverted soul. :)
My gf and I flew into Fun & Sun many years ago in a 172.. Had a blast! Most planes I had ever seen at one time in my life! Weirdly, the thing I remember most is when leaving....we were behind a Super Cub...I swear I have never seen a plane that slow that could go nearly straight up! Think F-16 in slow motion. Weird memory...fun times. Used I-4 and I-95 many many times to navigate, and the Florida Power station by the lake...
Kevin, you are a very accomplished pilot, but you still would have been in deep trouble if Jaime had not been an accomplished controller and co-pilot during that approach! She was your extra pair of eyes and a second pilot's brain to keep up with everything that was going on. I noticed I was holding my breath during your approach!
WHEW!!! Boy, that approach and landing tired me out just watching you and Jaime fly N771BC in to Sun ‘n Fun. I have to give you credit, Kevin. You were pretty calm and given all that traffic, all the radio chatter, and trying to follow ATC’s instruction. Yours and Jaime’s experience in ATC probably helped y’all, and kept you calm. Great job!!! Look forward to the next video. Happy Flying, and as always, safe landings.
Thank you Richard...glad you enjoyed it! Next up is my ride with the Aeroshell demonstration team with some formation acrobatics and some avionics shopping at the show. :)
Awesome...thank you for the nice comment! Happy to share our aviation journeys for those that are interested. Next up is my ride with the Aeroshell Demo Team. :)
Thank you Jim!!! Glad you're enjoying the channel. It would be fun to wear some sort of pulse/blood pressure gauge while flying into one of these things. Of course we probably wouldn't want the flight doc to see it. :)
310 Pilot looking forward to it👍 I used to fly an old 1966 K model 310 about 20+ years ago. Loved it😊, but had all the old “steam driven” analogue equipment. Nothing like all the high tech “Can’t get Lost” stuff they have these days. Really enjoy watching. All the best my friend 😁
The same exact thing happened to me a couple weeks ago in my 310. We left Bellingham on our way to Ketchikan Alaska and about 45 minutes into the flight we were climbing from 8000 to 10000 and right when we entered IMC we lost all vacuum and the boots were inflated. I was not lucky enough to have a G5 but we did descend to VFR immediately and returned to Bellingham. Both vacuum pumps were replaced and I had the boots completely disabled. The rest of the trip to Alaska was great. Returned home the 3rd of July. There should be an AD for this, I have the old style turn and bank, can’t imagine flying for long with that as my primary flight instrument.
Always love your videos but this one I enjoyed immensely because of all the information and graphics you showed ie all the pop ups etc once again you both done us all proud 👍👍👍👌👌👌👏👏👏
Oh no...I don't want to scare people away from these events. There may be better times than others to fly-in. I know OSH is usually fairly easy if you show up right as they open and builds quickly the first hour after and beyond. Glad you enjoyed it!
Man that was an awesome video, even better than Oshkosh. You had me right there with you all the way holding my breath. You two work good together, great stuff!!!!
Wow - that's the maddest ATC radio conversation I've every heard, that controller was unbelieveable - no wonder Jamie was stressed. Busy place, hope you enjoyed the stay. Paul
That was CRAZY!!! Hats off to you both. The two of you work well together. I was stressing from my armchair, white knuckles, heart racing the whole bit. Thanks so much for sharing!
Wow Kevin, What a cluster! Controlled chaos at its finest! Cheers to the famous Jamie and her Miller Lite! Shameless product placement? Made Richard Rollins rich!! Great video!
For those of us who have never been to a large air show that is a glimpse into to how it happens. Good flying and way to stay on top of things. I see that you lost a screen in the dash, you use to have two on the right side.
Jaime, we all will blow you a kiss! Lol, but right now I think you needed a hug from that approach!!! As always yall made it fun (unnervingly exciting) but fun.
Watched from the edge of my seat.. felt I was doing the arrival myself. GREAT job aviating while documenting the flight. She is cool as always (even when stressed :). Found myself smiling while idly browsing 310s on Controller with no intention of buying.. gotta get me my own Jamie first :_). Thank you for your videos - you're on my must watch list. Best from Seattle, Diamond Pilot
That was awesome!! I was stressed sitting in my chair. On the ground. That was a great learning tool for a pilot in training. The way Kevin shot down ATC in regards to turning into the clouds was outstanding. You are in charge. A lot of people get balled up speaking/dealing with ATC. The hand flying in the pattern look fun and challenging! That's the way I always want to fly. I have to try it before my time is up. Good thing Jamie was there to assist and open the beers. Great video guys thanks.
Kevin - Sun 'n Fun looked a lot more nerve-wracking than Oshkosh to me. Which one was more of a challenge for you? Also, it's nice to see you guys get to experience the love from your subscribers. Keep up the good work!
Flew in last year in my musketeer. Had to drop flaps and fly at 70kts behind a cub. A skylane passed us like we were standing still. Some guys have forgotten how to do slow flight. It was the most stressful flight I have ever done, but when I touched down I was smiling ear to ear. Just relived it with you guys.
Glad to take you back to last year! Flying into these things in twins, we are usually faster/higher but it is still pucker time when its time to descend and blend in. No reason in a 182 you can't slow it down and stay in line. I was smiling ear to ear as well when I landed...awesome. :)
I was trying not to get sucked into the AIRSHOW myself, but maybe the “Sand People” should give him a prize for landing on the spot. "People recognize you". Kind of glad to see there is still a large turn out for these shows. Okay, I go now.
Jaime, you were cracking me up. Christine would be exactly the same way. Glad it all worked out. I sent you a link for a center console. Did Kevin happen to share it with you?? LOL. Ok Kevin fess up. You guys are an inspiration 😀 You both have helped us pursue the C310 dream. In 30 days we should be proud new owners 🎉
Thanks for the link Mark....it's added to the list of upgrades. Don't be trying to get me in trouble...I showed her right away. :) Congrats again on your new bird...looks like you guys will have an awesome cross country traveling machine. TSA goodbye. :)
Wow! Great video! A whole lot going on and yes, at times very stressful, but an extremely entertaining arrival all the same! Awesome job on the landing!
Mintz711, I see we have the same last name . Just wondering where you’re from my family is from around Fayetteville North Carolina. Also see you’re Into music. Well I’ve worked in the music business for 40+ years as a Rigger stage hand and lighting guy but retired now.
Whew! Kevin & Jamie, what a great VID! No doubt that was nerve racking but you guys did a superb job! You had me on the edge of my seat! :-) Thanks again. Don
And I thought my busy flight today was exciting but your's kept me on the edge of my seat, so much happening there. Thanks heaps for sharing K&J hope you enjoyed S&F . Cheers from Aussie :)

Holy crap man that would drive me nuts I would be totally stressed out to hear all that at one given time to get into a place anyway you too have a great Memorial weekend be safe take care
It's a lot to process. Helps to be very familiar with the procedures, not be a new pilot and being very familiar/comfortable in the plane you are flying.
Jamie is stressed and I would be too. Sooo much going on. I haven't flown in about 10 years but I love watching this stuff. That controller almost felt like an auctioneer.
Outstanding guys!...those Dilythium crystals you installed in the 310 really paid off, lol. That was truly an "E" ticket ride (Disneyland sold you tickets for rides back in the 50's & 60's, A thru E's and the E was for the harriest rides).
In......Sane! Outstanding job though. Jamie is invaluable in the right seat. I’m thinking this is one of the most stressful videos I’ve seen. It illustrates your expertise. Go Dawgs!
Holy crap, as a former regional pilot and current controller, that was extremely impressive by both of you. Thanks for sharing this video!
That ATC guy really earned his paycheck! How grateful we are to have those wonderful folks, clearly working their buts off to keep us safe
I can't imagine being the person on the ground trying to keep control of this circus
They did a great job keeping us safe there Robert! :)
@@310Pilot Yes. That was amazing. They could be auctioneers in their spare time too !
