I miss watching these 310 Pilot series, but stopped watching when the airplane and your hanger went up for sale. Jamie and you were fun to watch wherever you traveled...
I am from Michigan and live in the Lansing area its been a while since i was in Mackinaw, seeing Mackinaw city, the Bridge, St. Ignace and the Island warms my heart, Thank You.
Hey Kevin, I was raised in Michigan, living in Texas for the past 35 years, I've been to Mackinac Island several times, the last time was about 15 years ago, it looks like they added an addition onto the Grand Hotel since I was there last. I've always loved visiting Mackinac Island. You need to make another trip to Mackinac Island during the sailboat race from Chicago to Mackinac held each year usually in July, it would be magnificent to fly over the island as the sailboats are crossing the finish line, I've been onshore at Mackinac Island for the finish of a few races, the view form the shore is nothing less than spectacular, I can only imagine what it would look like in the air. Unfortunately this year's race was canceled.
Talk about the luckiest guy in the world ! A beautiful wife, two great kids and a fantastic airplane. All that and she handles the radios like a pro....bet she is a pilot in her own right.... Count your blessings...
Today I was bouncing around UA-cam when I happened by one of your videos. What caught my eye was Jaime in the thumbnail for the video. It's not what your thinking I assure you! When I first saw Jaime I about fell out of my chair! Jaime, you are almost a carbon copy of my girlfriend Lindsey. Sadly, I lost my beloved Lindsey a little over one year ago to a sudden illness. It is amazing how much you two look and ever act alike. I know this will sound strange but watching a few of your videos today was almost like I got to see Lindsey again. I can't put into words enough how much I miss her. I don't think I will be watching anymore of your videos for obvious reasons but wanted to share with you how much you touched a stranger today and say thank you. Daniel
Kevin, that was a great trip. Many years ago I flew into the island with a friend in his Bonanza. He lived in Michigan and recommended it very highly. Was a trip to remember. No motorized vehicles except for the excavating ones working on the island. The kids must realize how fortunate they are to have opportunities that most do not have.
Kevin, thanks for the shout out as being the viewer who messaged you if you guys have ever been to Grand Rapids! Really enjoyed this video a lot! We were up at Mackinac in July. Glad you guys enjoyed the island and made your way up to Arch Rock! Hope to see you around GRR someday
Loved it! We used to go to Douglas Lake in the late 50's and early 60's and my parents knew someone who flew into Pellston to meet us there. They would buzz us on the beach. Over a few summers we watched them build the bridge. Brings back old times! :-)
Great video kids. Pink Pony is out favorite place to eat. 3 summers ago our son interned there during the summer with the police dept, 2 summers ago he was there as his first job as a police officer.
Thanks for showing us your scenic tour of the island. So beautiful. I didn’t realize it was so beautiful. It is on my bucket list now. Thanks again for showing us around a bit.
The wife and I flew up there a couple of years ago. Our intentions were to land on the island but strong cross winds were not favorable at all so we went into Pellston where Rwy 32 was a much better option that day. There was a shuttle bus to the ferry so we got to the island just fine. I'll show my wife your video showing how we were supposed get there. Thanks for posting!
When I first stumbled on your channel I looked for a Mackinac Island trip. Well I’m glad you finally visited a place I call my favorite starting place. From 1965 to 1978 we traveled to Mac by boat from Grose Ille. We spent 4 to 6 weeks traveling to a different destination in the norther lakes each summer. Mac was always considered our starting place. even when we traveled four days to get there from grose ille. When we would get there we all considered it "Vacation just started". Never been on a ferry but did fly out then in for a quick trip around the straits "uncles push-pull". My #1 bucket list item; ride a snow mobile there on the Mac-Ice bridge. Then return and repeat the trip (exact GPS) on my wave-ride. Hope you enjoy it as much as we have over the years. PS: two motorized vehicles on the island in the 70s were "ambulance" and "fire truck". snowmobiles allowed in the winter. great channel folks
We've done that trip a couple times, albeit in a 172, years ago but from KMDW (and yes, stopped for gas in Pellston too.) It's amazing how some things have not changed. The Grand Hotel, the "taxis", the fudge shops. Great to reminisce. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for visiting Michigan, was a fun trip to watch. ‘Surprised you fast-forwarded at 18:05... missed focusing on the beautiful 5 mile long Mackinac Bridge connecting the Lower and Upper Peninsulas.
Weko Beach!!! My hometown of Bridgman Michigan! Loved hearing y’all name all the cities and landmarks, and the views were awesome! Thanks for sharing!!!
Was there in August 1977 the week that Elvis Presley passed away.Drove from Port Clinton ,Ohio where I live . Loooooooooooong drive to the bridge. Took the ferry to Mac Island . Beautiful place , Another safe flight . Hope you had a safe trip home y'all. Take care........
Thanks for sharing this video last year. My wife and I just got back from Mackinac Island and we would have known about it without seeing your video. I little slice of heaven!
Brand new here! I worked at the Grand Hotel for summer many moons ago. I think I was 16 or 17. I grew up in Marquette Michigan. This island is beautiful! The hotel was amazing! Getting around was so cool. Very different than anywhere else. This video brought back some memories for me. Thanks for sharing it.
Nice flight and enjoyed your video Kevin including the footage from the island itself. Like those horse and cart taxis moving around in the picturesque village center. Very cool!
Just an awesome adventure! My girlfriends sister was married on Mackinac Island.. Beautiful wedding and boy did we ALL have a great time in a wonderful location/setting. We didn't fly in however.. Took the ferry over...
My Wife and I were there last year on labor day ,for our 30th anniversary stayed at mission point resort. very nice time, the pink pony had good food and cold beer, ahh the smell of horse poop and fudge....have a great time
Welcome to beautiful northern Michigan... there are many cool things to do in the Northern part of the Lower Peninsula. Drop into the little airport at Indian River and get someone to take you by boat around the inland waterway. You will love it!! Love your channel!
I grew up on Mackinac Island (pronounced Mack-i-naw) and got my PPL there in the 1970s, working with a CFI from nearby Cheboygan, who would fly over to pick me up for every lesson. The airport was a lot different in those days, including no lights on the field, but it was always a busy place. In June, July, and August, it wasn't uncommon to be on a ten-mile final behind five or six other landing planes.
Hi Guys...as a PPL I always love the flying content, but it is so great when you all get to your destination and show a little bit of your lives. I like to see you having fun. Be well. Looking forward to your West Coast adventures.
Just watched your interview with Just Plane Crazy and would to see you and the coolest 310 on our side of the pond........and Jamie too!!!!. Always love to watch family flights and the fun and lasting memories only flying can bring!
Did touch and go's while stationed in the UP at Kincheloe AFB about 40 miles north of St Ignace on the northern end of the "Big" Bridge! On weekends when I wasn't on call at the USAF Hospital I tried to spend most summer weekends on the Island! One of the only bright spots of being stationed 20 miles south of the Canadian border! Took the family there a couple of times, last time 2017. Loved it!
Kevin was so correct, that SR22 flew a pattern larger than what an B788 would have flown, geez Cirrus driver. :) Was lucky enough to get to Mackinac once as a kid and loved it. Great taxi ride from the airport. What a wonderful little town with beautiful scenery. Thanks guys for sharing your overnight with us all.
Easily your best vlog yet. Been subscribed for about 2 years (?) ...just love the way you take us to new and unexpected parts of the USA. What a cool beauty Mackinac Island is - I could spend a whole vacation there! Greetings from Macclesfield, 10 miles away from Manchester international airport in north-west England 🇺🇲🇬🇧
Thanks so much for sharing the experience and scenery. Plane looks great with the new paint job. I learn a lot when you provide your flight commentary. Thanks so much!!!
I flew there last year after leaving Oshkosh for my first visit. Your great video allowed me to come along this year, and relive some great memories. Thank You
I am from Michigan, been to the island a couple of times, always had such a good time, seeing you show the sites, it was just like I was there again, thanks so much, be safe and keep it level!!!!!❤️❤️
I hope you all got to visit both forts and got to see everything that mackinaw has to offer. Hopefully you will one day come to grand rapids and or Kalamazoo Michigan
I live in southern part of michigan. Mackinaw City and Mackinaw island are one of a kind. You can stay in Mackinaw City then take the Ferry to the island for the day.
YOU GUYS ARE LIVING MY DREAM! I live vicariously watching your videos. Ex Cessana single pilot, C152 to C210. Living in Africa never managed family flying life you have. I applaud you your easy going but st professional approach to flying. REcreational flying magic.
You really inspired me to learn how to fly, me and my family drove from Indianapolis to Mackinac Island, 6 hour drive, the longest trip ever, thanks for the videos keep them coming 👍
You must have drove like a bat out of Hades and not stopped much at all. We usually figure on about 5 hours from Grand Rapids MI, where I live. Although I have done it in 3 1/2 hours. That was with one 5 minute stop and going over the speed limit the whole time, often well over.
Lake Michigan along Lake Shore Drive to me is never warm, no matter how hot the weather gets. My husband and I were up in Saugatuck in July, and the Lake was so warm and beautiful. Never been to Mackinac Island, hopefully next year. Love your videos..:-)
We made this very trip on the ground last fall. Up the east side of the lake, back down the west side of the Lake. We drove around the whole dang lake! We also went to visit Mackinac Island. Really enjoyed watching you guys flying it. Mackinac is awesome! Really enjoy your videos!
Very nice perspective flying into Mackinaw, I only motored in with a Carver 42’ boat and docked at the state harbor. Seeing this from the air was definitely neat.
Mackinac Island was a favorite place for my wife and I. We stayed on the island (as opposed to staying in Mackinaw City or St. Ignace and taking the ferry across every day). After the last ferry leaves the place gets really peaceful. There ARE a few vehicles on the island, all official. There’s police, ambulance, fire equipment, and utility vehicles. I’ve only seen them at night. They hide them pretty well.
Glad y'all did this trip. We live in SE Michigan and get to Mackinac Island at least once a year. Great views and a one of a kind place. We took a 172 out out of Marine City Airport with friends many years ago, great flight. If you ever have the chance, make a weekend at the Grand Hotel
Brings back fond memories, as and I honeymooned on Macinac 14 years ago this month. We just drove the bridge southbound yesterday on the way home from 6Y9.
Thanks for the great video to Macinac Island. One of our favorite places and certainly brought back some wonderful memories. We live in California, but hope to be back there someday flying as PIC,
Kevin and Jamie, another nice destination in Michigan is Traverse City at Cherry festival time, nearby Glen Arbor and Suttons Bay are great points of interest.
I've been waiting for this trip to post! My wife and I have been to Mackinac Island so many times, and it never gets old. We often like to take a break from biking at the east end of runway 26 and watch the planes landing low overhead. Looked like there were a few people there when you were on final. 🙂 It was so cool seeing you guys enjoy some of our favorite spots! The only weird thing was how few people were there. Usually it's crawling with people. Great video!
Thanks for sharing a great trip. My son and I flew up for the day in July. Didn’t film the landing so thanks for letting me remember it thru your great work. For us 1.75 hrs by air in the Comanche vs 5.5 hrs by car. Great to make family memories. Congrats. I’m planning on getting my multi rating in our 310 this fall, just wrapped up my instrument. 1BC knocks 31YK out of the water. Stay safe and thanks as always for sharing.
So cool! It was really cool seeing the video of you flying over the state I live in and visiting one of my favorite places in it! I sure hope you had fun!
Growing up near the lake - 'lake affect' snow happened within 20 or so miles of the lake. The lake affects weather due to the temp change. Leaned early on - always bring a jacket / sweat shirt even during the summer. Driving around the south end - you can run into snow storms from this winter phenomenon. Drove around Chicago - no snow - hit Gary and light snow - head more east and was like 6 to 8 inches and near white out. Lake Superior is a lot colder yet. Take care - glad you had a great time visiting the island.
I miss watching these 310 Pilot series, but stopped watching when the airplane and your hanger went up for sale. Jamie and you were fun to watch wherever you traveled...
Born and raised in Flint,Mi and never been to Mackinac Island. Mom worked on the Island in the 50's in her teenage years. Nice flight .
I am from Michigan and live in the Lansing area its been a while since i was in Mackinaw, seeing Mackinaw city, the Bridge, St. Ignace and the Island warms my heart, Thank You.

Beautiful Island. Glad there are no vehicles. Keeps it quieter. Also glad to see the big kids. Thank you for sharing guys.
So great to see this family time together. I always wondered if Jaime has children. Daughter is a mirror image. What a beauty.
We are vicariously traveling about this beautiful nation on the wings of N771BC! Thanks for the ride!!

Used to spend a couple weeks in the summers in Mackinac Island when I was a kid. Thanks for this. It looks the same.
I get to see more of the good ole U.S. of A. while riding along in the back sear. Thanks for that. Have fun!
Mackinac is so beautiful....looks like a fantasy island
Loved it! We used to go to Douglas Lake in the late 50's and early 60's and my parents knew someone who flew into Pellston to meet us there. They would buzz us on the beach. Over a few summers we watched them build the bridge. Brings back old times! :-)
Dang Jaime! That young lady is the spitting image of you!! Thanks for sharing!!
Mackinaw Island I hear is gorgeous. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit. Your video brings back wonderful memories.
Great video kids. Pink Pony is out favorite place to eat. 3 summers ago our son interned there during the summer with the police dept, 2 summers ago he was there as his first job as a police officer.
