Did the same build on a Kohler 14hp. Highly recommend putting high temp gasket maker on the shaft to prevent the gear box from seizing to the engine shaft. The gasket maker prevents water and bleach from getting inside the shaft and gearbox.
Great build! Congratulations on the new equipment!!! I am very interested in this video series as I would like to try and build my own 6 1/2 gallon permanent machine as well.
Love the build, I think my pump is starting to have an issue from me not being able to install a bypass on it. Definitely saving this for my next build.
Nice build! I am about to build one with the same pump but was told that the predator 420 will not get me only 1500-1800 psi, anything after that will bog the motor. How are you getting 3300psi. Is it operating fine? Thank you
@@jd-it4on I built 2 of them with a Predator 459 and at 2900 PSI and only 200psi spike, I am getting 7.5 GPM without a chemical injector. I will post the flow test video in my business UA-cam channel in the next couple of weeks.
thats not enough motor. for engine longevity you would really want the predator 670cc, but on a budget the 459cc will work. you will be running the 420CC at max power all the time to achieve the pressures you want, therefore reducing engine life.
@@staym925 even so, still close to the limit. (Gpm x psi) x 0.0007 will give the minimum hp required to run at max pressure. I like to have a little more power than that for engine longevity.
Yeah I don't think he is getting that psi and that gpm us8ng that engine,I just don't see it. I run a 13hp Honda and a 420cc crx engine both have a 3200psi 5.5 gpm comet pump but if I try to turn the unloader to get a bit more out of the pump it bugs the engine down.

do you just apply to the shaft before sliding on the pump?
@@AtoZPowerwashing correct! Anti seize didn’t work for me. The gasket maker created a water proof seal around the shaft and inside gear box.
Nice! For only 2 hours of work, you sure saved a lot of money

Good job! I'm ready to see it in action. Thanks for sharing.
Nice! I built the same one. I really like it!

I think that was the reason I went through 2 pumps in 5 months. Hopefully I won't have that issue now... 🤞

I'm getting about 3200psi at the end of 200 ft of hose.
@cunninghamclean how many gpm r u getting along with that psi? Because I would say that engine is not enough for that size pump to operate correctly.

Will this pump with a gearbox pull from a buffer tank or does it need water from a hose bib that is pressurized?
It pulls great from my 50gal tank. I think all gear or belt driven pumps suck water, but direct drives don't. I may be wrong on that.
@@cunninghamclean That's what I thought as well, but I just wanted to double-check. Thanks for the great video!

Over 600hrs and she still running strong.
Has a gear box to help.

Put a gocart tune kit on it and you'll be golden. 600 hours is pleeeenty of time to earn a new motor or 5.

Does the shaft with the key come on the motor?
Yes
How did you turn your pump down to 3300
With the unloader. That's what it's for. Just need to get a gauge so you know what psi your at when adjusting.
