    I am so glad you mentioned oil cleansing clogging pores!! Don’t get me long I love Korean skincare but I hate the fact that it’s being marketed that you can’t properly get off sunscreen/makeup unless you double cleanse using a cleansing balm/oil and that micellar waters aren’t effective as a first cleanse 😭 oil and balm cleansers break me out so badly I think I’ll just stick to my trusty bioderma and normal cleanser

      Use organic grapeseed oil only that doesn't clog pores no need to use million million of mixed oils and then clean using wet wash cloth. Then go in for the gentle face wash. I'm oily as hell and yet this is working for me because of lenoleic acid in grapeseed oil

    I love the simplicity of your products and used them all consistently. Then found that some of the whitish bumps with no inflammation are sebaceous hyperplasia. Is your new retinoid serum potent enough to treat that condition or should I ask the dermatologist for an RX of tretinoin? Thanks for videos!

    The Paula’s Choice Azelaic Acid Booster with 0.5% salicylic acid worked absolute wonders on my skin! Highly recommend. It has helped not only with blackheads and rough/bumpy texture, but also when it comes to calming more inflamed acne lesions. And best of all, it made a noticeable difference within just a couple of weeks. I have never, ever seen results from a single product so quickly. I use it in the AM under my sunscreen and a retinoid in the PM…*chef’s kiss*!

    I had the worst skin in my whole life right before my mariage because of cicaplast baume B5 ! my skin was full of closed comedones. Two products that saved my skin are Salicylic acid and Differin gel, even Tretinoin cream had caused me more comedones because of the pore clogging emollients it contains.

    Very informative, thank you. How is sebaceous hyperplasia different from closed comedones? Would your suggestions be the same for sebaceous hyperplasia?

    • @DrSamBunting
      @DrSamBunting  10 місяців тому +5

      Quite different. You can tackle comedones with skincare. You can’t alter sebaceous hyperplasia, a benign physical overgrowth developing from the sebaceous gland, with skincare. This needs to be treated in a doctor’s office with a treatment like hyfrecation.

    I am loving this video so far, but I have one concern. You mentioned a cleansing balm may be the cause for these closed comedones. I had the idea that using a cleansing oil/balm is best to get rid of sunscreen or makeup. Would you suggest micellar water instead? I always double cleanse but these stubborn bumps on my forehead don't go away no matter what!

    • @hanamiumel2650

    Hi Dr Sam! I know this has nothing to do with the video but I have a question. I am currently taking vitamin D supplements, my doctor told me my vitamin D deficiency could be caused by wearing sunscreen everyday. Is it true that wearing sunscreen can block my body from absorbing vitamin D? What can I do about it?

    • @kalayne6713
      @kalayne6713 6 місяців тому

      Many people can have a genetic mutation where Vit D is not affected by sunlight no matter how long you are in the sun.Vit D can be absorbed by using drops available at a holistic doctor but it's more dangerous, skin cancer wise, trying to get Vitamins from the sun. A simple blood test shows what's going on.

    • @shivangibind7349
      @shivangibind7349 3 місяці тому

      From what my doctor said, yes sunscreens block your vitamin D absorption, you can continue taking vitamin D supplements or take morning sun-light for atleast half an hour. Using sunscreen is important in noon to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
