Are these the same hose lines you should blow air through if my gas tank keeps turning the pump off. I watched other videos that said the line might be clogged but I couldn’t find where those lines were under my escape. Thinking that this may be them and they’re just hidden??
I have no idea what you're talking about very rarely do these systems get clogged in all my years of working on cars I've never seen any of these systems get clogged unless someone did something stupid and dumped contaminants into the tank the pump is probably on its way out sometimes they work for a little while and then they don't sometimes they just died out right sometimes you can just hit the tank a few times and get it going again it sounds like you need a new fuel pump it's pretty common problem with domestic vehicles
Yanno, that is crazy that all the wires etc are just dipped in there. A bit sketchy. Lol Great video. I love how u showed the trial and error of doing this type of work, cuz it never goes as smooth as it seems.
1/4 video is taking off the pressure side clip ;-) 1/4 video is taking the top of the pump loose. 1/4 of the video is just getting the pump lined up in the hole. It didn't mention how you guys depressurised the system first, or how you pressurized the system after. The special lock ring removal tool (a punch) and vice grip pump removal tool is what most of us use ! At least someone didn't lock-tigh or silicone the gasket ring....or did they? I replaced mine because it had 200,000 miles on it, but the gas guaged on the dash was always off. I bought the entire pump assembly for $50 on Amazon, not worth disassembling. Fixed it. Identical to my Mazda Tribute. Thanks for making the video though !!! You should try this on a Vulcan motorcycle gas tank. Talk about a tight fit.
I watched other videos and it looked easy. Not so easy, they all showed just remove this plastic retainer ring and the pump just pops out. I go to my vehicle and its metal, I managed to get that off and the pump was loose but wouldn't come out. I found this video and discovered the quarter turn slots on the pump and went back to work and the pump came out.
I tried to take out the fuel pump. Something's stuck. But when I took a peek inside I seen a green line that might have hold the pump. Idk I? Not sure. But tldoesnt show in your video how you took out the pump either. What I was looking. I have 2008 ford escape XLT.4wd
Spent tons of money on escape. I ordered and they sent me 2007 fuel pump. I thought it was a 2007 escape. Didn't find out until I gave them the VIN number. Now they say it an 2008 model. But on a door where the VIN number is located. Its stamped as a 2007. That happened before when I ordered a rad. Good thing the garage said to bring the stuff back and they will get me the right stuff.
Mines starts if I gas it... But it dies once I let go. Ive concluded that its not the charging system. But I havent been able to check for fuel pressure. Think this could be my issue? The car was running a1 until this happened.
@@shakbishop4758 it could be the fuel pump sometimes when you give it gas there's enough pressure there to let it plop to life but not enough to keep it there I'm not sure what the rail pressure should be but if you cycle the key and you hear the fuel pump running and you go up under the hood there should be a Schrader valve on the fuel rail just like on your tire same exact thing you can push it down with a screwdriver and it should spray out a lot of fuel if it just barely trickles out the pumps probably bad it's pretty common for domestic vehicles fuel pumps to go bad
One of the worst ideas car company's came up with those damn line clips..and plastic lines...but gas does smell good lol....atleast it has a access panel

I haven’t been watching your videos too long but this is the second one that I’ve noticed that you’ve made a sexist remark about a woman. You know men do make plenty a stupid mistakes also.
Finally, a video of what my life is like! That just pop right out, never happens to me. At least I know how the lock ring works now. Thanks.

Especially when you waste 30 minutes trying to pry apart a quick disconnect clip!

You guys just needed to push down and turn pump counter clockwise. 😂.

That's awesome I'm glad I could help in any way even though we didn't know what we were doing either LOL
I had the same problem with those dam quick disconnects. I was lol because I went through the exact same thing 😂
Cracked off a piece just like mine. That’s going to leak like crazy, silicone will do nothing, I’ve tried.
I love the smell of gasoline 👍👍

What were the symptoms?
Not starting and no fuel pressure
