These guys were all individually the best New York City had to offer at the end of the 80s beginning of the 90s. They all came together to support the amazing Lady Kerr! I was 18 years old when I ran away to see her perform in Soho the year before this album came out. It was a foundational moment for me. She is an amazing woman that has lived life on her own creative terms! ❤❤❤
😊 Hands down the best dance song of the 1990s. I was actually gonna request it. Glad somebody beat me to the punch. I was lucky enough to see Deee-Lite in concert at Six Flags Over Texas back in 1992.
God, I miss Six Flags Over Texas. I haven't been there since I was 14 in 1985. I would love to go and see what it's like now, but never seems to work out. I also miss living in Dallas.
Yes, it was the 90s and in Madrid we danced to this song like crazy in a club called Stella. The people were like the ones in the video. beautiful and very funny people
This track has always made me think that if you took the 60's the 70's the 80's and the 90's and put them in a blender this is what you would end up with! Truly amazing! I've always loved this track!
When I first heard this song on the radio I thought it was about a bunch of students out of their minds at a party 😂. Then, when I watched the video I was amazed it was so psychedelic (like something out of an Austin Powers movie).
This is an absolute banger of a tune, the funky hip disco mix is just so unique. I'm glad to see more people embracing this tune. Her vocals then that epic rap paired with all of they unique sounds, it's perfection in my eyes. It's also a very uplifting wee tune and never fails to perk me up 🎉
Doesn't sound that bad? Dude, this is the last kind of music I listen to, but this song gets played at max volume. When I listen to this song so do my neighbors. This song is 🔥. Q-Tip rapping, Maceo on sax and Bootsie on bass. Awesome song.
Thought you could use a curve ball from 1990 to get a better overall view of the time period😂 This was wildly popular, in heavy rotation on MTV and heard at the clubs nightly. Great opportunity for everyone to drop any pretense, bust a smile and have a lot of fun dancing.
This was a huge international dance hit worldwide in the early '90's. You were still stardust young man so you missed all the fun at the time. You do have rhythm though & your head is certainly enjoying dancing around. Maybe try standing up next time when you feel the groove & you'll be amazed how your body will just naturally follow. Don't forget dancing is real good exercise & a lot of fun. Better than just sitting in front of your screen not burning off any calories. I reckon you'd be a really great dancer & if you want to meet new friends for even more fun you'll have to be able to bust some moves to gain some attraction towards finding a partner. You can do it!!
"And remember Deee Lite has been known to smoke. On stage that is." This song is considered house music. The lead singer is Lady Miss Kier. The Asian guy is DJ Towa Tei. The dancing Russian guy is DJ Dmitry. They formed in NYC. React to their songs Power Of Love, Bittersweet Lovin and Thank You Everyday please.
Oh my my my, Lady Miss Keir. Still killin it after 30 years! When this video first came out all I could think of was "this looks like a PeeWee's Playhouse Dance Party"!! Sign me up!
it's not bad though you're right I mean it has a goofy, quirky psychedelic 1970's disco feel and it was a banger hit in the early 90s every club has this song
Chase, I think you believe you are a certain level of cool. Deee Lite never thought They were cool, but honestly they were ALWAYS MORE cool than you. It’s painfully clear.
this was HUGE and i do mean MEGA HUGE back in the early 90's i remember watching allmost 500 people in the palace nightclub in blackpool swarm the dance floor to this....
Bootsy Collins the bassist, and Maceo Parker the sax player are funk legends
They were a band and art group on top of it and yes to hook up with Collins and Parker was a moment in time.
That familiar voice is Q-Tip from A Tribe Called Quest.
Q-Tip, whatchu on the mic for?
This was one of the biggest club hits of the 90's. Incredibly catchy and makes you want to dance.
He mentioned that it was so weird and kind of out there. We even thought that back then!
Everyone got into this song, no matter what music you usually liked. I was into grunge and indie and I loved it...goths danced to this song lol
This was a great club dance song . Loved it then and still.
I’ve loved this song over 30 years.!!
It's scientifically impossible not to love this song.
That familiar voice is Q-Tip. The singer, Lady Miss Kier, is just an overall great lady. Still does a lot of activism work now.

Wouldn’t go that far but it’s up there.

Playtime nothing wrong with having a laugh and a dance ☮️

Bailando salsa, bailando salsa en el Stella, al son del ritmo sabrosón de las caderas de Carmela ;)

Love seeing young people see this video, this was my jam in like middle school. 90's doing 60's was a VIBE.
MY GUILTY PLEASURE SONG! 🤣😎💯
Incidentally, the bass player is Bootsy Collins, an absolute legend in the funk world.
Legend among legends!
Oh my, I sure danced a lot to this song.
Officially Love. I was just starting to go out to clubs when this song was big. I have never stopped loving it.
I was there! The best times ever! When this would come on in the clubs, people would go nuts! Miss these days !
Thank you. Really. Thank you.
The rapper is Q-tip from A Tribe Called Quest! Such a steal for these guys!
The album it was on was fire throughout. Try their song Good Beat.
This song takes me back to dancing all night the Lime Light in NYC...such a fun song!!
I love this song
This song was *huge* with me and my friends! 🌼+💃=💖 Thank you, Chase.
That was Dee Great! I think what you are thinking of is called a slide whistle.
Deee-lite is absolutely fantastic!
It's Rowan & Martins Laugh In 😀
When I first heard this song on the radio I thought it was about a bunch of students out of their minds at a party 😂. Then, when I watched the video I was amazed it was so psychedelic (like something out of an Austin Powers movie).
This song is The birth of the 90's
👍❤️💯
it was a huge hit in the 90s. Probably the song of the summer in 1990

The instrument you like the sound of is called a slide whistle. The rapper in the middle Q-Tip from the group A Tribe Called Quest.

We was cutting up in the club back then. This was the song that got everyone on the dance floor. I was in the Navy when this came out.
This song is the exact moment the 80s became the 90s.
Thought you could use a curve ball from 1990 to get a better overall view of the time period😂

Supa Dj Dimitri is the only Russian who has ever been to No1 in the American music charts.
Man I've always loved this !~
Loved your reaction young man👍🏻 One of the best songs to react to imo. So happy to see you appreciate and enjoy this awesome, one of a kind song!
I think you would really like their song “Power Of Love”, you should try it next!

If you just listen on a dance floor, it doesn't sound funny, but groovy, but the video is funny and cheeky.
Chase, you are cute as hell! I’ve become a subscriber! You have loved so many of the songs I adore!
I think was called funkadelic music
Man, you are cute!
if you name the donor and put their name in print in your video, people would be more interested
Rated one of the worst music videos ever made…don’t know why cause I love it!
Please Melissa Ethridge Like The Way I Do live. I’ll buy a shirt have
I can"t dance for nothing and even I got out on the floor back in the day in the OC when this came on. HS. Fake ID.
Dude, your reactions and expressions were better than the song!
Chase, I think you believe you are a certain level of cool. Deee Lite never thought They were cool, but honestly they were ALWAYS MORE cool than you. It’s painfully clear.
doesn't sound that bad? what currently approaches this in humor, beat, imaginative video, danceability?
