I can't believe how much I still love this show 👽
Man, I just wish there was one whole episode of where Dr. Jackson goes to like a conference and just tells EVERYTHING that he has found out about aliens and the ancient mythology of Earth, making an official timeline of Earth's history and aliens interactions with it.
I think basically the last 2 years of SG-1 were a totally wrong direction. They should have wrapped up the show on a high note- Goauld vanquished, no Ori, Jaffa free, Asgard benavelent benfactors, Jack O'Neill still in charge of the team. Then Atlantis would have been a natural progession.
I've never seen an Asgard Video- good job! I miss the guys!
I liked the Asgard better than the Ancients. The Asgard, in my opinion, were THE best because they had a pragmatic view of justice even thousands of years hence. The ancients made a complete mess, and then ascended and declared themselves above the mess they had wrought. The Ancients armed extremely powerful elder species against powerless young ones while washing their hands of all responsibility.
The Asgard always took responsibility for the just-minded. That's why the Asgard rule. :P
They were better than the Nox too. While the Asgard did possess some arrogance, they were a force for good and supported the Tauri. The Nox seemed always be on a high horse, and if I remember correctly, spoke condescendingly to the Tauri just because they dared to stand up to the Goauld. Nothing but a bunch of arrogant cowardly snobs, the Nox!

@0israphel0 at the time the beam weapons hadnt been developed, and the o'neill class had ion guns and the daedalus class had railguns and missiles. Only in the last episode of sg1 (Unending) were the beam weapons actually implemented onto the 304.
@0israphel0 The Asgard ship is sending the " UnReplicate " beam on the Replicators making them fall in pieces.

I really wanted a scene where O'Neill was in the bathroom and then he was suddenly beamed up. That would have been funny.
I wholeheartedly agree that the death of the Asgard was incredibly stupid. But if we start making lists of everything the writers did wrong we would have a very, very long list.
I hate the finale. I was hoping that maybe getting stuck in the time dilation field was some sort of test from the Asgard - that maybe they were just testing if the Humans are worthy of their technology or something - that they weren't really dying - that they'd come back, everything will be back to normal. BUT NO. I miss the Asgard. I miss Thor. I miss SG-1. Why do things have to end. I hate my life.

So sad that asgard could pretty much take on the ori warships themselves, but they didn't bother bringing more than 1 ship...
I don't know WHY it still bugs me that their species name should be Aesir while the PLANET they live on should be Asgard, but it does...

i think they could have corrected their genetic code eventually. if they did what robo-sg1 did. basically go primitive replicator or do what the Gadmeer terraformer did using the tauri as their keepers.

and at 6:05 which is the battle at the super stargate there were 2 whatsit class ships that WERE equiped with asgard energy weapons and asgard weapons were proven to be rather effective against ori ships and there was an o'neill class warship so why didnt the 2 whatsit class ships and the o'neill class ships just blast the ori warships to kingdom come and back using the beam weapons which were proven to be able to blast ori warships to kingdom come

and in a way they didnt die as they gave the whole of their knowledge to who they felt could handle and protect their legacy, us the 4th race
even great civilizations die no matter how strong or just, they had reached the end of their cloning capabilities and could no longer continue to live the immortal life they had created without ascending in a way like the ancients which was obviously not what they wanted
even in our real life history most of the greatest empires have crumbled, seems the writers just mimic-ed life in this instance
Eehh, the ancients were part of the 4 races, probably the most advanced and instigators of such an allience. And as for them making a mess then ascending? They were dying from a plague, and still managed to pass on their legacy by guideing human evoloution through the dakara machine. It was not their fault their tech and knowledge was missused by other lower species (mostly ours, we made more of a mess than they did). And when they ascended they choce to no longer get involved in lower plain
affairs, which is quite right, they done it themselfs by themselfs so we and all other species should have respected that fact. And dont forget it was the asgardsown genetic tinkering that saw to there demise, if they had ascended like the ancients would they have been so benevolent as they were being coporial?
they didn't want to interfear to avoid beeing seen as Gods and end up like the Ori.WIth time I belive they lost the sense of reality and didn't want to take any actions even when there existence was threaten and Merlin was forced to try alone and destroy the ori before they become more powerful then the alternas but they stoped him.

This technology is real. The grey aliens(in the real world) as depicted as the Asgard in this series actually have this technology. It's more discrete though. There is no flash or light or anything. People just disappear and reappear.

.... actualy i think the asgard had intended something else... is it a bit suspiscious that the device they put on their ship in the last episode is capable of time travel if somewhat imperfectly... almost like they set in a series of back ups so they can travel back and save teh asgard in a future series etc
The Asgard killing themselves was a complete cop out. It was simply used as an excuse as to why they suddenly gave away all their tech and something better could have been thought of.

I like the Asgard better than those snubs & annoying Ancients.still would like to see the Furlings.
I't seemed like the asgard beamed those 3 goa'uld ship's and army but did they ? or did they destroy them ? and if they beamed them where did they beam them to ? if they just beamed them back home that wouldn't discourage them very much lol.
They just dematerialize the ships and the jafaas as Heru'ur escaped through stargate and I doubt Thir materialize the ships and jaffa somewere else.

The problem they never truly disclosed the program to the public as what many expected in the last Atlantis episode when an entire city drops straight down into San Fransisco bay but they "magically" manage to cloak the city despite it should not have had enough power for that!

SHADOWWOLF77 the ZPMS weren´t depleted it could have been done with single one, let alone 3 working in parallel.
Atlantis was just damaged and shield capacitors and engine capactiors needed recharge.

One question I heard the Asgards blew up their own world in SG1 series, and I cant remember seeing that episode so can someone point out the season in where that happened, and the episode itself. HELP

In last Episode, Unending, They gave SG-1 their technology, their legacy and wanted them to witness their last moments as there were nothing they could do anymore to prevent the sickness (which had infected all clones, all Asgård) from killing them. They blew up their planet while SG-1 to fleed from the Ori fleet.

It's sad that the Asgard killed themselves. If only they could of solved their genetic problem. Because they were the best alien race in the series. Only second to the Ancients.
in all fairness.. i think part of the reason they avoided interfearing was caus they gained really good hindsite at thier actions when they ascended and decided not to make things worse lol... although stargate atlantis really raped the image of the ancients lol
