I hope they bring back a Stargate show someday, hell I'd be insanely psyched if they ever did a show about the Ancients. That would be amazing.
sadly from what i understand .. they are just going the lazy route and rebooting the series.
Love or hate SGU you can't deny it had some of the best sci-fi aspects regardless of the character drama

They want to reboot the original franchise. The original Stargate movie is classic. Don't mess with it.
I'm sorry but the original movie never made stargate what it is. As much as I like it. And judging by the mess Emmerich made of his independence day sequel I'm surprised he's getting funding for his "always planned" trilogy. 17 seasons 3 series and 3 movies, that is stargate.

The movie is barely better than Universe, no one cares about that trash,that's why the planes reboot based off the movie got scrapped. They realized the fury of a million fanboys rage would burn with a white burning hate the likes of which has never been seen.
around 5:40 when they show the map with all the Galaxies that Destiny visited ... let's just take one moment and imagine how those gates would look like, what other races and technology SGC would find ... that right there, at least for me, is a damn good reason for a new series where they visit the other galaxies ... and i counted at least 10 galaxies including Milky Way ... so taking that one, Pegasus and the one that Destiny is going through, we have 7 more unknown galaxies
Aside from that, seeing this video and other videos of Stargate on youtube really brings a tear to my eyes
saveschi Well fully powered Asgard warships could traverse galaxy in 2 minutes... flight between Ida and Milky way took them about 30 minutes. (probably at cost of damaging strain on their hyperdrives)
but assuming even half the speed "several billion" lightyears should still be traversable within a year... providing they could find (or make) naquadriah to power the neutrino-ion reactors on the way and refuel time to time - any Belisknir could catch up with destiny in year or two... with weapons superior to just about anyone it could meet on the way...
so they really should dug in into the datacore on Oddysey...)
I know, and you're right ... But I was talking about the design of the Stargates from the galaxies that Destiny visited ... So far we only know about the Milky Way, Pegasus, and the models that were used in season 1 and 2 of SGU ... So what about the other galaxies, how would their Stargates look like ? What other civilizations would live there ? Who would the bad guys be over there ? Do those galaxies have Replicators ?
saveschi The only galaxies that have stargates other then Mily Way, Pegasus and Asgard galaxy, are the galaxies that the seed ships seeded hundreds if not thousands of years before Destiny was launched and even those galaxies didn't have gates on every habitable planet but just on the path that Destiny would have followed.
Any civilization in those galaxies would be much different then any races in SGA/SG1 since they have evolved without ancients interference, like those in SGU - The Nakai and the Ursini.
Vaclav Sobr our knowledge is limited. Don't forget that we are just some punks that barely got some rocks from the Moon not long ago. Asgards are over 100 000 years old civilization. It will take us aeons to understand and make use of most of their legacy.

I had forgotten, or perhaps simply not noticed, how the Ancients casually murdered the ordinary people in the village on their way to the Milky Way.
The people in the village were the Ancients. They left in the ship when it lifted off the plateau.

The music is too prominent. This video should be about the ancients, but instead the 'main character' is the music.
Loved it. But, take it down and re-upload with the sound on the music turned down some. Most of the dialogue is inaudible

I am a Vengelis fan! Frankly his music has a greater storyline than this film/TV show! Oh I love the show! But don't mix it with musical genius! The scene MUST be tailored to the music! The music can NEVER be imposed on the music!

When I found out they were discontinuing stargate atlantis I was so mad. I think I prefer atlantis than stargate sg1 because I really like space battles and stories that deal with a struggle. A fight for preservation of a species if they didn't have enough money they shouldn't have made universe and just bridged sg1 and atlantis building up a scenario that the wraith or a new species of alien was invading the milkyway galaxy eating and enslaving the world's populations where ever they went. They were less evolved but had the numbers like the wraith during the ancient and wraith war in Pegasus galaxy. And it was a race against time for atlantis team and sg1 to defeat the alien scourge which lost and hidden texts recently discovered in the ancient Mesopotamian city lead them to a new ancient archive of the enemy. And they find a vast fleet of ancient ships used in the last War in the milkyway against the scourge aliens. Psychically linked to an individual by birth it would've been a good time to reveal the stargate program to earths populations and hundreds of thousands of single humans would become captains of different ships and pilot them through thought. Stargate universe shouldn't have been made in the first place if they were going to discontinue it after the seconds season.
Well I guess the Alterans are similar to the Nox in that they prefer w primitive lifestyle..

I wonder in which season of SG1 they begins showing the real story of the ancient? I'm interested in that part I don't like the Egyptian god storyline
I liked the Ancients more during SG-1's early seasons, where they were mysterious and their technology seemed to be made of stone (like the room with the head sucker from the episode The Fifth Race). When they started to flesh out the Ancients more and we saw their technology looking different (Atlantis, etc.) is when I lost interest in them.
I still enjoy watching Atlantis though. :)

Pity I can't kill the music to listen to the what they're saying. Another possibly interesting video ruined by abysmal music and sound level choices. Either don't includes scenes with dialogue, or kill the damn music!
Without music the video gets banned, or at least that happened with one of my spacebattles videos when i tried to upload it with original sound

It's about sound levels. They don't have to drown out the dialogue with loud music to still have music. As I said, if they need the loud music, don't include dialogue scenes. If they want dialogue scenes, don't use music that drowns out what they're saying. Having loud music drowning out the dialogue isn't necessary, unless the entire video is a troll meant to annoy people like me (and I'm definitely not the only one). It worked too.
refresh my memory, do they ever find the ancients? i watched sg1 and atlantis and i don't remember them ever meeting the real ones

The ancients are real and they didn't exist a million years ago. We are not the first civilization of mankind.
The question is whether they still exist but are hidden, whether they were destroyed by themselves or whether we are prevented from having knowledge of them as a sort of quarantine so that we follow a different path from them and don't make they same mistakes they made resulting in their destruction.

well you ruined it by adding stargate universe which in my opinion was a total waste of time and money.
This is an absolute waste of time. Had to stop watching as 'HOT MUSIC' ruins even the images. Give it a pass, too bad a REAL MIXER wasn't available for this clip. Bonzo the hack in his garage needs to return to sweeping the floor. Brooms are a tool he could handle.
