I was doing some trial and error to figure it out and forgot to film it sorry. I ended up getting the main shape by bending it around a 5 gallon metal container. I finessed it with a rubber mallet while it was mounted to the truck. I will be featuring the other side installation with a few extra tips and tricks in an up coming video. I think I filmed the bending process on that one a little bit.
Nice work Devin. The welds are perfect sheet metal welds. I can see the penetration is excellent. Are you using .023 wire? I like the no door look personally.
Thank you Brian! I can’t remember what wire I was using but I think I’ll be going 023 on my next spool. I have this feeling I’ll never want to put the doors or roof back on it !
even though the screws work look intoo cleco;s ua-cam.com/video/pHrlo5czEOk/v-deo.html as for using compressed air to cool off the metal : dont do it that way or use a wet rag , causing a weld to cool fast can locally schrink the metal causing oildrum type buckling (popping inward outward dents ) , its better to not get it too hot to begin with and just let it cool naturally or hit it with a hammer and dolly to stretch it back out a little , since there mostly flat panels it should be too obvious buttrying the same thing on rounder car bodywork will cause you a lot of bodywork to get everything straight again
You never cease to amaze me with your perfect work !
Thank you!
Metal fab. My favorite part of any build 👍
I think I agree!
Nice job! On the driver side can you show how you achieved the bend radius around the back corner? Thank you.

Thanks for the tips. I do have the Clecos and agree they work pretty well too.
I like it without the door
I kind of agree. I may end up not wanting to reinstall the roof or doors after a nice summer drive.
