Good job. Finally someone to show that it takes time to fit 1/4. You have welding, riveting, spot welding and glue. It takes time to prep and set up all of this
I have probably replaced over thirty model 3 quarters, most of them full quarters which includes the roof rail. You can replace the complete inner arch without removing the inner strengthening panels. I'm now retired and living in Spain after 43 years of pannelbeating, love watching some one else do it now.
Does putting it on a single jack stand on the left of the car, cause a little flex in the chassis, which may cause slight misalignment of any panel repairs? Thanks.
Great and detailed job!! I was surprised that you didn't put the door and hatch bach just to check the gaps before permanently putting the rear panel. Well, at the end it's a Tesla, soli factory gaps are terrible anyway 😅😅
The power switch turned off we presume. To get a quarter panel you have to be a certified Tesla shop. Wonder why the car is not on a rack with universal fixture ie Spanesi or Celette bench. It would help in making sure the rear body and quarter are aligned
Hi i have been an autobody tech for over 24 years. It looks like you did a great job. I have never worked on a Tesla before. I had a question. I know the panels are aluminum. I did not know they make an aluminum spot welder. Is that what you were using? If so what is the name of the spot welder?
Hi fabulous stuff, I really appreciate it. Just a question to you, I’m down here in Australia and having a horrible time with Tesla and the Registered Panel Beaters getting the official repair documentation. Each says the other will share, however the RPBs says they will be stripped of their offical repair roles if they do. And Tesla say they won’t. This leaves me with my hands in the air and struggling as I need this documentation to get my vehicle registered. I spotted some of the pages on your video. Any chance of you being able to assist me with getting hold of them?
Is this manual you printed only available to bodyshops? I looked around but can't find it, I can only find the regular service manual. Nice work btw, its very hard to tell its been repaired!
That's a very good question. I bought total/salvage car all my life and I couldn't never figure that out. Sometimes even a theft recovery car with very little cosmetic damage it's still total. In this case, a fix like this in US would probably cost close to $10K if not above at the tesla certified body shop and maybe $5K to $6K at non-certified body shop so if you don't mind being a salvage title then you can get it at the auction and fix at the non-certified shop to save some money.

Thank you 👍🏼 I’m going to try and aim for one video a week. It’s just trying to find the time to edit them lol

When I heard him say a little Scotch . I was like hell yeah
🤣🤣🤣
Lovely neat clean job bud,I’d love to try the uv filler but here in uk England it’ll be expensive no doubt 😮
You should shop around. The more popular it’s getting the more companies are bringing it out.
I never thought I'd see a quarter panel being held on by glue, tabs and rivets.
Yep, a lot of cards are nowadays, this is Tesla procedure

I thought I did lol. But thanks you 👍🏼
Nice job
Thank you 👍🏼
Top man
Thank you
Whats the colour code for the olive colour? I use nissan greenish/gray but its not as close as the olive you use.
Oh I’m out of the shop right now I’ll get it for you on Monday.
I use axalta light green 433A
@michaelleal958 ill have a look into that. We use standox / Axalta so shouldn't be an issue getting the e-coat cans.
Does it look like never happened after the repair? I have similar damage. Does it affect the front booth during the impact?
Can you weld it using silicone bronze ?
We don’t use silicone bronze on teslas

For this procedure Tesla doesn’t call for a bench to be used
I'm surprised you didn't pull the quarter out before you chopped it off
Your not aloud pull Teslas at all.
Brilliant job. Do you do jobs on the side😂 my model S needs a back end.

which battery negative do you have to disconnect before welding?
22:12 - do you disconnect the high voltage battery for welding? (car main battery) is it enough to disconnect 12v?
Do you have the video after repair?

Is the repair procedure not open to the public now ???
Good afternoon, wow that butt welding is perfect. What type of machine and wire did you use to weld the panel seems?
I am looking for some body repair for my model 3 as well. Where in BC are you located?
👏👏👏🎉🥳🥳🥳👍
Thank you

I’m nearly sure all repair procedures are available to the public now
Where can we find those manual? I’m looking for everywhere without success
Olá ! Por quê não pode fazer furos de 6mm e soldar..(.plug weld).?!
How much it cost ?
What tool do you like to use to make your fake spot welds?
i use a pencil eraser, works great.
First rate
hang on if it can be fixed why do insurance companie total it? in the U.S?

И за маленькой вмятины, поменять целое крыло👀такое уродство!🤦🏻♂️
За это время, можно было отремонтировать в лёгкую!
Ничего личного, коллега!☺️
