Man, I just couldn’t do it like that. You’ve got all the parts to make it right, take the time. I’d rather change a complete quarter and weld up the drill holes, then weld across the panel like that..

Hey, we all make mistakes. I would fill it and leave it. It's absolutely fine!
Top tip: where possible when butt welding flat panels together leave an overlap, fit the new section overlapping the remaining original part, and then cut through both panels together at a 45 degree angle. This will close the panels together perfectly in a 45 degree butted join.

You have a point but no wrecked and rebuild car is going to be 100% Only way to get that would be to jack up the horn btton and drive a new factory car underneath ...Even then a 100% is no guaerntee I saw a FordTauras torn in half by a broadside hit from a 280Z ALL the factory spot welds were torn open leaving a bit of sheet metal holding the back half to the rest of the car. The Ford driver was killed in the collision. This is the kind of thing that makes a tech do his best work making repairs or it should

Outstanding!! I did i body work for one year after coming home from the military. This reminded me of a daddys little girl prelude we had, she got tboned and the insurance company totaled the car. Daddy came out of pocket to repair the car since she didnt want to let it go. We had half a Prelude come in on a flatbed cut straight down the middle. We cut and spliced that Honda, it was amazing. When we were done with it it looked real nice i was in awe of what i experienced/learned as an auto body apprentice. Great work fellas, i cant wait to see the end result.

With gas at 6 bucks a gallon or more for premium you might have to hold on to it for awhile! Usually I love your chanel and the work you guys do, but what gets me with this, is that you had all the parts to make a proper safe repair, that once complete would have been difficult to notice even with an intrusive inspection, instead you've used maybe 25% of the donor rear quarter and made a right hash of it. Over here in the UK these types of repair are called "cut n shuts" and they are illegal simply beacause they are unsafe, Having said that I guess you guys are not hiding anything and whoever might buy this car can watch the videos to decide if they want to or not.

I don't see that quality here. Why not replace the inner fender and the other part behind the wheel arch?
I would always replace the entire rear panel. It's more work, but putting it all together with bondo also takes a lot of time.

You need to eat Hubble pie and buy another quarter panel and do the job the correct way!😃

Why don't you do like vtuned? Overlap then cut bot pieces. Seems more fool proof short-cut =))

It's a salvage title car. I personally would have done the whole quarter replacement but what you have will be good enough. My eyes aren't that good but when you started the cut I said to myself , that looks too short LOL.

    That happened !
    No one is failure free.
Like in the Bible that one is failure free throw the first stone.
Try to stabilis with Zink this way i learned it from my Master in Reconstruktion .
That you don't need the bondow .
The rest you make so good work.
Don't waist money time and materiel .

I would leave it alone looks just fine mistakes happen besides a wide body kit in lime green would cover that up 👌

Been watching your videos for a long while and like you guys' work. Unfortunately I can't agree with you guys in the route your are taking with this project. I understand u have a budget per project but these rebuilt cars have you name it. This Hellcat having over 700 HP should have the panel replacements done right for structural rigidity. Rear body panel should be completely replaced, not sectioned. Same thing with the quarter panel. Some short cuts should not be taken as they take more time in the long run for it to repaired properly. Good luck ✌️✌️
