One of the high-class fashions in Egyptian dress was the bead-net dress. Bead net-dresses were made with thousands of beads arranged in lozenge pattern. The beads are strung together on a net which was then worn over a linen/sheath dress. This garment is close fitting and ended around the ankle. Bead-net dresses was an outer garments worn by Egyptian women during the Old and Middle Kingdom.

The garment is seen to be close fitted and consisted of beautiful beads of various shapes, color and sizes, and ending at the calf. Although the garment is covered in beautiful jewels and beads, the dress is still very reveling and see through. The garment worn by the model is also combined with matching jewelry.

In ancient Egypt, looking fashionable was an important part of everyday life, especially for the elite members of society. One of the high-class fashion was the bead-net dress. Bead net dresses were made with thousands of beads, although it is believed that women wore such dresses in daily life, most examples have been found in burials. Nudity was accepted, and the ideal body was tall and slim with big feet. Both the historical and the contemporary image are very similar. It is extremely noticeable that contemporary garment was influenced by the historical garment. The historical garment symbolized social status and power. The designer seemed to re-make the bead net dress. Both garments consists of being close fitted, long, and covered with colorful beads and jewels. Beaded-net dresses wore worn by women during the Old and Middle Kingdom. Today, the contemporary garment is worn by women as a sense of fashion. Being a couture garment, it is made with high quality material which can be worn to show social status. A garment like the on the right, would be worn to special events. The dress shows confidence, social status and sense of fashion. The designer added matching jewelry just as the ancient Egyptian women would do.
