I have just come back to warframe this week after a multi-year break, finishing school and going to uni took my time. 9 years ago I started playing when I’d just turned 13, and I couldn’t stop showing all my friends “potato powered”s stalker warframe video. I sent you an email asking if you preferred boltor prime or soma, like some crazed childish fan.
I’ve always gone to your content whenever an update drops, or if I need to catch up on what I’ve missed. I can’t believe I’m about to be 23 and I am still watching all your videos, with as much awe as I did back all those years ago.
A lot of people here are thanking DE and TotalBiscuit, but I want to thank you for your massive role in my enjoyment of this game.

I've been thinking about all the older states warframe has been in,
and seeing this video, the more and more I think that warframe peaked in 2017-2018, take me back.
so many systems that have since been removed, so many frames that where since reworked but on the other hand so many frames that stood their ground (rather than being in the pointless state they are now)

This game has come such a long way and is incredibly good. Soo much to do, tons of fun. However IMO it's still missing something in the gameplay to retain players and also PvP.. PvE is too fatiguing after you've been playing for years, and you're tired of grinding for either the new shiny thing or a new power up. This game is at its best when you passively progress and grow stronger from doing fun missions... It's at it's worst when you're actively trying to get stronger by running the most efficient missions.
A better PvP would be great for the players who've done it all already, don't care about farming anymore and just want to enjoy the game..

I remember playing some time closer to beta, was such an interesting game that never really stuck for me. I'd come back every couple of years just to grind out some of the new content, each time the game would take leaps forward and fixing some of the issues of the updates before I got to play them. Coming back recently, the game really became a comfort game. something I know that I can just get on and enjoy the journey even if its grindy at times. I enjoy having a toolbox of items and frames, figuring out on my own some new ways to complete content to keep things interesting.
Used to be in the crowd that wanted endgame content but I now have shifted to enjoying a journey of progression which Warframe does really well. Its a game about building up an arsenal, and it feels rewarding to have new ways to play since it means coming back to older content isn't a chore but rather a new way to experience some content

Great video, I'm always curious about the game's past, like "How did the void keys work?". I totally forgot how awesome the game has been cause it feels like quite a while since something exciting came out- I tore through the whole game in about a year, starting during Orphix Venom (I wish they would bring that back, I even built a Voidrig just after the event). Railjack absolutely blew my mind (maybe because it's not as buggy?) and Scarlett Spear sounds like part of the big raid that ties the whole game together that I've been dreaming about, hopefully it will happen one day.

Ironically, i didnt have to grind for my railjack because i just joined an open crew to see what railjacks were all about, i got alot of resources, and when i built my own i had very few components to go get in regular missions. Like half an hour extra time ontop of doing the quest.

I stil remember the day I completed Second Dream.
Trough some incompetence on my part it became an even greater experience than it would have been had I been smart.
See, when your operator first crawls towards the warframe and you have to go extraction you can use the Operator to blast the sentients away.
    I didn't know that.
I just walked slowly towards the exit.
The mission is made so you cannot die, you just go down to 2hp.
So there I was, holding my operator in arms, walking as if carrying a heavy burden, while sentients descended and pelted me with energy blasts as I walked towards extraction.
I felt like Jesus carrying the cross to my own crucifixion.
    That's powerful. Very powerful.

I've tried getting back into Warframe but every time I do, I just get overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff there is to do and the lack of direction, not to mention how weapons and builds I used to use regularly have been nerfed into oblivion and the convoluted network of drop tables and mission types I have to navigate to get a piece of gear I want.
Still, I'm glad it's still going and that people enjoy it. This is probably one of the only live services that's actually lasted more than 10 years (anyone remember Anthem's "10 year journey"?).

Having 8 frames was kind of awesome, but it fell flat on it's arse because the encounters were designed in such a way that you needed some specific frames if you wanted to get it done.
Having at least 1 Trinity was mandatory as there was this one phase where you needed that 99% Blessing if you wanted to survive.

The "void keys: RIP" comment towards the beginning threw me for a loop. Clearly I have been out of Warframe for too long if that is no longer even a thing anymore!
I played Warframe back when it first was available to the public on PC, then went to PS4 went it launched there and played up until just a few years ago when I went back to PC gaming.
Still hoping to get back into the game some day when they add the ever elusive cross-progression so I can get my PS4 account back!
