    You know as I've gotten older I've been having a harder and harder time disassociating myself from the cash/financial implications when I'm playing cash-games.
    When I was younger, I could put my entire bankroll on the felt, lose it, and get over it in a couple hours. Now-a-days, if I lose less than 1% of my bankroll, I get angry, anxious, disappointed, etc. And, I have WAY more money NOW then I did back then.
    It's just so odd.
    Hence, I can no longer play cash-games, because I can't have a balanced strategy for I can no longer pull the trigger on my pure or low equity bluffing spots.

      There are many methods used. An old common one is to look at clock and use the second hand. Or another common one is before you play just use suits as randomized... Eg. If higher card is a diamond, randomized = 25, if both diamonds ~6%. Depending on how detail you want the estimate to be, of course the trick is to not change your mind/suits because of the run out.

    I don't think I enjoy the fact that now poker is about figuring out why the solver is saying things instead of figuring out why something makes sense.
    With blockers and unblockers, you can justify pretty much anything. It's bad to have a 6 on AQ544 because you block 76 that purefolds, but it's good to have a 6 on AQ544 because you block 64 that traps! The offsuit hands on a rainbow board are bad to bluff because you don't have a backdoor flush draw to improve, but the offsuit hands on a rainbow board are good to bluff because you don't block your opponent calling with a backdoor flush draw and folding turn when they don't improve...
    Ultimately we're all there trying to pretend we're doing some facts and logic when we're just following instructions, and since we don't always know what the instructions will be, we're ready to justify anything and everything.

    • @OsefKincaid
      @OsefKincaid 3 роки тому

      I think it would be interesting to feed a fake solve for a situation to a good player and see them justify the play using "facts and logic". As long as the fake is not completely obvious, I'm pretty sure they'd run with it no problem.

    • @OsefKincaid
      @OsefKincaid 3 роки тому

      Look at this sentence lol, at 1:13:45 => "If you have a hand like Q6 suited here, it's not a good call hand, because you really want me to have a 6 - although the solver ends up not jamming a six, maybe it is a good call hand, but the point remains, you really don't want to block some of these hands that could be bluffing"
      Literally nothing has been said in that sentence :D

    • @foraminutethere23
      @foraminutethere23 3 роки тому

      @@OsefKincaid I think he's saying that in theory q6 is not a good bluff catcher because it blocks a missed bluff straight draw. But then he says that the solver never bluffs a missed 6x straight draw on the river so then maybe q6 is a good bluff catcher

    • @OsefKincaid
      @OsefKincaid 3 роки тому +1

      @@foraminutethere23 There is no theory. There's just what the solver says. If the solver says that Q6 is a bad bluff catcher, then it's because the 6 is bad, we want villain to have a straight draw. If the solver says that Q6 is a good bluff catcher, then it's because villain doesn't bluff with his missed straight draws, so the 6 unblocks his bluffs. We are ready to justify anything :)

    • @foraminutethere23
      @foraminutethere23 3 роки тому

      @@OsefKincaid when I say theory I mean his current understanding of why the solver is doing what it's doing. You notice some trends and then the solver sometimes goes against those trends and you have to think about why. I get what you're saying too though
