@@weareyourtest6029 I haven't made a project inspired by Water tentacles as the effect your thinking of would be very difficult to achieve without a lot of trickery in comp. Nice pack! I just bought it last night and only tested some stuff out. Preview Render was a little slow on the MacBook Pro 16” (i9, 16GB ram, AMD Radeon pro 5500m) so I think I’ll try it on my windows PC: i7, 16GB ram, GTX 1060) Do you recommend I upgrade the ram to 32Gb? Or is it worth upgrading? Particular always makes working on projects a little slow haha.
Yeah, the preview might seem slow at first when your first opening the projects, but provided you have allocated plenty of hard drive space to the After Effects cache the projects will become more responsive. The fire projects are the most expensive because of all those fluid sims. When you want to preview something always play it from frame zero because if you click ahead in the timeline it will pause for a good minute while the fluid sim writes a cache file to the ram before the image is displayed. This is also why I included those proxy sims, I think the end results justify the wait though.
I think the compositing could have done with a few more interations, I agree a couple of the shots could be better, that earthbending sequence was done last minute over the weekend. You can adjust the light direction with particular shading and get it pretty close to the shot. The are some limitations but it's a novelty to create 3d rocks in after effects.
This is more of a love letter to The Last Airbender film, the dynamics were very high quality made with Houdini by ILM. But not everyone has a multi-million dollar budget to hire ILM to work on their film, so that's why I made this.
@@RemusGT If you're talking about the flying rocks they are just attached to a null object which you can move around in 3D. Other effects like the earth shield and the spikes coming out the ground are animated in after effects so you can rotate a camera around them. This isnt houdini, that being said for the fire hitting the earth shield in the video. I added an invisible field of particles to the fluid fire so that it would kind of interact with wall. So you need to know particular but you could get somthing working
I would really recommend 32 gigs of ram because the fluid simulations have to be cached in real-time using just ram for preview. Considering your system probable takes up a few GB of ram that doesn't leave much for Trapcode Particular. The projects are pushing Particular to the limit of what it can do so it's going to be a bit slow, but you can do things like prerendering the simulations before going into compositing. The tutorial series I made addresses how to manage performance so you don't go insane.

@@yima8282 If it's a fluid sim you will probably want to work with the proxy sim until your ready to perform a render. Fluid sims have to be pre-cached to ram before they can be previewed. Make sure you don't click too far ahead on the timeline otherwise it will have to cache everything, much better to click (Ram-preview) from the start so that it can load in.
