@@FishingHuntingAndBigfoot , there are things in your local forest too, what I don't understand is that they are not visible to us at times so not fair, - definitely Bigfoot and Dogman are the biggest predators out there...then there is other unknown creatures like gnomes, goblins, etc
I live in eastern TN. I've had two very weird encounters on the Smoky/Nantahala forest borders. They are very very much here, Been tracked or followed Twice there now. Thought it was a bear initially myself saw it in all fours. Kept hiking out, we took rest I turned around and crouched at a tree trunk as my friends joked and goofed. This thing stood up in the paralleling stream bed. It looked at me, we locked eyes, then it it slowly lowered down, much as I had to rest, out of sight. I said come on boys, we gotta go. NOW. It had a human like face and was an auburn color, easily my height over 6 ft, from a stream bed, so we're talking 8 ft easy. It Immediately started down pouring rain. There was Nothing on radar when we went it. I checked, twice. I told them it was a bear they had heard. One is an attorney, the other a non believer in such. I didn't waste my time. It very much was Not. Another time one tracked me up a trail, my elderly dog was limping behind taking her time. All of a sudden, she took of hoping like she was a young pup playing 40 yard into the woods to the base of a large pine. She circled the tree Smiling as if trying to play, Very strange for this dog, no growling, no barks, it's like she had ran into a human she knew well. This dog has been around many animals including bear. I've had to call her back from trying to go at a black bear cub. I never heard anything climb the tree Nothing, as I walked towards her. I shown a light into the top, it was swaying Hard, but I couldn't see anything. I tried circling the tree to get her and shine light up and look, and the tree shook immediately as if something had jumped 10 ft to another tree. She got stuck in fallen cedar branches. I can't think of anything that could make a tree move like that besides a large human or a juvenile squatch curious about Ol girl trying to play...and by God he did. My dog doesn't do that or act like that, she's Well trained. Very odd indeed.. Also, I've had one move a trunk when I was 10 or so from a trail I used to ride on a motorbike. I would fall over half the time going up the hill to get around it. One day it was just moved to the side of the trail. I told myself it was an adult that moved the trunk for some reason. It couldn't of been, I thought to myself then, well thanks I guess. That helps a lot, won't be falling over on that hill anymore. As an adult, and knowledgable about trees. It wouldn't taken a come along or a crew of men to do that. There was no evidence of vehicle or anything else I can remember. This tree was close to a foot in diameter, and was water logged I would bet too. I've done a great deal of tree work. In both of the last two situations, I can tell you it was No bear. It was no raccoon, it wasn't human. Still gives me the chills now. Although I will say I didn't feel threatened or in danger, just pure shock and confusion really, in these encounters. They very much exist folks. Especially in this particular area. Great story. Feels better to share. That's for sure!
I live in the Smoky Mountains, those huge giants of the forest _ARE_ here. They do exist. I know many people who have saw these huge creatures. Most will run away from you. Some will kill and eat you.
I follow hikers on UA-cam walking the Appalachian Trail , I have often wondered if they have come across Bigfoot or see signs such as huge footprints. They never say, but I scrutinize the background , trees, shrubs and the ground of their video and I often see what clearly looks like Bigfoot or their footprints. . I don't comment to them about what I see . Maybe that's why so many just up and quit the trail something spooked them.
We got a few of them boogers down here in Bama around Winston co I live on smith lake and have run into to 2 of them in 40 yrs of living here I'm 51 know but seen my first one when I was 10 and my second one around 40 they eat anything to and they love dog to eat I tried to hunt one to kill because it eat 8 of our puppies that were in a 6ft kennel they would come by and slap the top of our house at knight .i don't know why but I guess that they were mad because I keep the dogs in the house after the puppy incident. Anyway watch your pets out in the sticks .
Good story. I admire the fact that these seem realistic. I would much rather hear something like this as apposed to one of those campfire stories that get embellished.
Great story of encounters with Bigfoot! Probably a good thing the dad held off and did not shoot when he saw the look of fear on the face of the creature, like it knew it might be killed or at least wounded. But had he shot it anyway, he probably would have seriously regretted it, partly because after seeing the look of understanding of what was about to happen to the creature, but mainly because the remaining animals would have held a grudge!
I also was born and raised in the gatlinburg are the battle of the burg is true. Lucinda oalkey ogle daughter of Wiley Oakley wrote about this in her autobiography.
I also live at the Foothills of the Smokey mountains, and yes there's things in our mountains that can't be explained.
Like what things if you don't mind me asking?
