The 2.7 turbo charged engine has had lifter failure, cam failures and oil leak problems... All of which GM seems unable or unwilling to fix.. Most of these problems seem to come from GM's AFM system. Why does GM think a 4 cylinder engine needs cylinder deactivation??? Especially in a truck? Just from the reviews I have seen here on UA-cam, the Nissan Frontier sounds like a better truck....

Which engine is more likely to run over 250,000 miles the 4-cylinder or the Duramax Diesel?
Sure you can turn off the headlights manually. There just isn't a physical headlight switch. Hit the headlight icon on the infotainment screen and turn the headlights off. I haven't turned the headlights on with a physical switch in probably 10yrs. Most cars and trucks have auto headlights anyways. It's nothing new. And you can unlock the doors if the battery is dead. The key fob has a emergency key that can be detached. There is a slot on the underside of the drivers door. Put that key in the slot and it will allow you to pop off the cover and expose the keyed lock on the door. Insert the emergency key into that lock to open the door.

I'm just not convinced Right now about Chevrolet's reliability for trucks, we had a 2018 Chevy 2500 work truck, and a 2017 1500 work truck, both of them had tons of issues including air conditioning, engine issues and horrible programming and maintenance issues when replacing a battery. We also had a 2020 Chevy suburban that it's AC went out and had the rear differential start making noises, we had major issues with three out of seven Chevy trucks. That is absolutely dismal in my book. I don't know what's happened to GM. 😢
You left out one bad thing about this new Gen that is the reason I’ll never buy one….No Long Box Option. No way I’m trading my 2018 Colorado LT 4x4 Crewcab Long Box for a truck with a smaller bed.
Is it possible to be able to define sanity, no ride will never be perfect, and Chevy has a good arrangement, I think the motor choice still leaves a little bit to desired,
Did you just tell me that they moved the headlights to the screen? That is not cool. I really hate that they're just sticking everything in the screen and connecting it to the body control module, physical buttons are the way to go for everything that is used on a daily basis.
One min he questions the 2.7L turbo's reliability 1:09. Then praises the 2.7L ability to tow and how it was tested over 300,000 miles 5:21. Make up your mind. Trashes the dash material on a low end trim truck... WTH do you want leather and oiled teak? No, I've never been off road and looked at my dash and wished it was leather. Not once did it ever cross my mind. And I've never seen a truck come with rock sliders that wasn't either ordered extra or provided in an upper level trim package.
For that price it should come with a better interior we should have more room in the back seat chef cup holders in the back seat. Shouldn't be all plastic inside? It's rather disappointing for that price.
When he said you can get this for under 30K dollars, well good luck with that price. maybe with 20K miles and a year old, these trucks go for 38 to 45 K dollars.
I look at reliability when I purchase a vehicle. Toyota certainly has been the best for reliability and I don’t think that has changed very much. However, turbos now with Toyota might change Toyotas reliability. Only time will tell.
I can leave in all plastic materials i dont mind. i the long run in everyday driving you dont care those plastic at the dashboard and doors. as long you enjoy your Truck

Another issue that you hinted to but didn't make the final connection with is due to forced induction and higher compression ratios this engine requires 91-93 octane. The 2023 Frontier has the same 310hp from a naturally aspirated V6, runs on regular unleaded, and because it doesn't have forced induction, is likely more reliable in the long term. With nearly a 55 cent/gal difference between regular and higher octane, the difference in fuel types means you'll spend about $10-11 more per fill-up with the Colorado.
@@CWFL5I don't own a Frontier, just pointing out the differences. However if you are running 87 in a turbo engine, you'll never reach that torque and hp value. Using lower octane fuel will require ignition retarding to prevent preignition thus reducing power and torque. In addition, the 4 cyl. needs to operate a higher total percentage of it's total work capacity. Another problem in modern turbo 4 cylinders is blow by. The use of thinner, lower viscosity engine oil in a high compression engine with loose fitting oil control rings means oil burn, dirty valves, carbon build-up, hot-spots, plug fouling, and eventually catalytic converter failure. Chevy has already had to deal with head gasket failures on this engine in the Silverado application.
That’s not correct, the GM engineer that helped build it said it was designed to run on regular unleaded. He said you can put higher octane in it but you’re wasting your money.
It’s a hard sell, GM is so cheap, affordable and cheap repair imo, I will say they did a great job with the infotainment center Ima stick with nissan or Tacoma
Really? It has electronic parking brake? Yeah, no thanks electric brakes suck! Hydraulic all the way! But the Tacoma, since it’s not a turbo, will last a hell of a lot longer than that Chevy ever will aspirated engine to last longer than turbos all day every day

It can run just fine on 87 and your v6 frontier doesn’t have 400+ torque.

Wow, they ruined it. The zr2 15-20 had the best styling. This thing looks like a dodge. Way to go Chevy, allways got to change it for the worst!
It's a truck. How much do you want to pay?
THE BED IS TOO SMALL
TOO MANY ADS
Can’t get a truck lien now. SVB and Signature bank closedown
It’s a hard sell, GM is so cheap, affordable and cheap repair imo, I will say they did a great job with the infotainment center
Ima stick with nissan or Tacoma
Worst car review I’ve seen in recent memory. Sweet baby Jesus, Chevy don’t give him another car to review
Lol now GMC is having me out for the Canyon 😘
@@theshiftlist yikes
Oh god it look like ford even got the ford blue going 😂😂😂😂 just cover the grill with ur finger!!! then boom it a ford😂😂😂😂
too much plastic.
Every vehicle has its upsides and downsides!
You give a Terrible review!
Really? It has electronic parking brake? Yeah, no thanks electric brakes suck! Hydraulic all the way! But the Tacoma, since it’s not a turbo, will last a hell of a lot longer than that Chevy ever will aspirated engine to last longer than turbos all day every day
Bad things- it's a chevy, it's a chevy, it's a chevy
CHEVY, CHEVY, CHEVY!! THREE GREAT THINGS!!!
.1% of people are going to actually trail drive it.
Turbo charged. Yay 🫤
Good looking redesign though aside from the GM interior. Who tf approved headlight infotainment control
