😆🐝🐝I love how the bumble bee was checking out the pad......Lol
That bumble bee was awesome!
@@LesleytheBirdNerd 😊Yes it was.......I love seeing them around my yard. 🐝💛
The bumblebee even helped, it dragged some hair into the nest. 😂
@@karls.5921 it's a worker bee.
they were chill about the bumblebee but the wasp was on sight
Ur back! Bird nerds activate spring vids😁
Thanks!
One of my favorite birds and certainly you are my favorite bird nerd! ❤
:) Thank you
@@LesleytheBirdNerd - I was diagnosed with Parkinson's this winter, and it's bad. Last week, the Chickadees were there in my yard like normal, and I said "are you here to help me?" They flew all around while I accomplished the small amount of grafting and propagation I'm still able to do. They *were* there to help me....
RIP corner baby
Wasn't that the first one to hatch after the mama dug it out?
😢
😭
🍳
it was surprising it still hatched after being without warmth for multiple days, but they were just too smol to compete with its siblings :(
I am in the process of moving and it's been a horrendous day, with some tears. Please know that this video helped me to calm down and appreciate what is going right in this world. Love you you Leslie!!!!! xxx
It's so tough having to move, I'm so glad that this video helped you to feel a bit better. Wonderful :) Take care of yourself and all the very best to you in your new place. Hugs xx
Good luck, moving is never easy.
The runt didnt make it unfortunately - I didnt see the parents remove its body. Two plump siblings however. It was indeed fascinating - I know the number of caterpillars and such that they consume are huge, so the parents work really hard. Fabulous video, thank you so much, Lesley.
I have videos of Inky removing the nestling but I was worried it might be disturbing to some so decided to keep that out. Thanks for the kind comment, glad you enjoyed the video, and you are 100 percent right a lot of caterpillars are fed to their young. Around 7000 or more for just one brood! Busy little dees
Omy gosh Leslie thank you so so much for this!!. Black caps are so sweet and for me that feebee song is the best! Such good parents.. the bumble bee was interesting. Just amazing!! With the babies!👍👍🌎💯🌳🌲🪹🪺✝️
@@scott2726 You're welcome :) I agree, they are such precious little birds. Love them. Glad you enjoyed the bumble bee :)
@@LesleytheBirdNerdthank you for your service. Your honesty & positive waves are a real help.
Such an amazing thing to see. Thank you for this. I love the chickadees. Was the one egg earlier than the others?
A Wonderful Celebration of Life - Bless you for sharing 🙏🏼
I agree!
We were worried about you, our Bird Nerd Goddess!! Thank you so much for checking back in, we'll take all you're willing to share. Love from Massachusetts and say hi to our juncos for us!!
My most favorite. They Dee-Dee me when I'm filling the feeders ❤
Lesley, you produce some incredible work in my opinion. While I fully respect your decision about further videos, I'd like to make sure you know how much even a sporadic, random video is appreciated. Right now I view you in awe, as a princess that all the birds flock to, but with continued education on my part maybe I could begin to understand how you do what you do. Right now I'm just basking in the beauty of that which you bring us. Thank you very much for your efforts in sharing your art.
Lesley! Cool! 🥰🥰🥰
I moved from CT to NYC. I miss these sweet little critters. Thanks for this precious view
Aww so sorry, I bet the city birds can be just as fun to watch. Thank you for watching :)
Great time lapse of the chickadees. Thanks for sharing, Lesley! And great to see you again. 😊

Home sweet Home!🌹🕊Hello Leslie, stunning birds 🐦
Thank you! :)
So glad that you are back and posting videos again! 😊
My favorite bird!
Awwwww!! Inky and Philbert are so sweet to each other and are such hardworking parents! I'm still blown away by how many worms they're able to find for their babies - and that's just one chickadee family! Seeing that wayward bumblebee made me giggle all over again, hehe. So sweet knowing that these two brood 2 siblings are out there, exploring the wide world around them. I wonder if they got to see the aurora last night, hehehe. Thank you for putting together this incredible timelapse for us! 💗
Chickadees are such amicable little birds ,seeing and hearing them is always a joy. Thank you,Lesley for sharing these adorables!
They certainly are wonderful little birds, love them. Thanks for watching!

Great parents indeed :) I'll be posting more videos yet.
I can't get enough of these little guys.. magical! Thank you Lesley for another awesome showcase of my favourite feathered friends!
You're welcome :) Thank you for watching!
I put a nest box in my yard and have a family of chickadees nesting right now! I wish I had a camera in mine - I can hear the nestlings in there making their cute noises and it warms my heart ❤
Loved the video, Lesley! Inky and Philbert are the best, and two healthy fledglings (RIP little one). Couldn’t stop smiling when I saw you had posted! Have a beautiful weekend!🩶🤍🖤
Oh so nice to see you back. Hope all is well with you.
Thank you! I'm doing very well these days
@@LesleytheBirdNerd Oh good. So glad to hear that.❤
Hi.
Im so glad i found this group! I was looking for help with a blue jay issue. We've had a pair in our yard for 2 yrs. The other night, something attacked a nest they had. We found 2 babies in the driveway and heard one of the adults screaming. We put the babies in the catio for the night, making sure our cat had no access. We opened the door to the catio early in the morning because the mother was circling around the area. She went in and fed them many times during the day. It was amazing to watch! The babies hopped around in the catio and even flew from cat perch to cat perch. They climbed the screen but never realized the door was open. We checked on them all day long. So did the mother Blue Jay as she went in and out. It got dark, and we decided to close the catio door for the night so the babies were safe from whatever predator attacked the family, only to find them gone! My first question is, could they have flown out to join the mother? My second and most important question is what will the female do without her mate? She's been around today taking peanuts from the porch railing. That's always where we fed both adults. He's obviously gone. Will she survive without him? Will she seek another mate? Will she leave the area?
Only my two cents but your babies were probably ok if you didn’t see a bunch of feathers everywhere in the catio. Just found a spot they could fit through and flew off early in the morning. ❤
How wonderful to be able to observe these beautiful birds! Thank you Leslie.
Glad you enjoyed seeing them! :)
Bird Nerds named Lesley make me happy 😁
With all the bad news, it's really a relief to watch your videos again, I didn't want to believe that it's was over for ever, in life sharing may be the most important thing, I see so many interesting comments, sharing both ways.
Oh Leslie. So good to see this nest being built, the babies growing strong then flying off. Once a bird watcher always a bird watcher. I love watching my birds and my view is from my backyard where I have to put food down at least once a day. I am enjoying two pair of quail that have decided it's ok to be in my yard. I have worked hard to encourage them and get the chickadees and goldfinches in here too.
My favorite bird is the mourning dove. I named my house after them. The pigeons and Eurasians have pushed them out though. I still get a fair amount during the winter and even less the rest of the year. There is no pushing the pigeons out. I don't allow the magpies, but I can't move those pigeons for the life of me. It is so fun to share this great experience with others who appreciate this delicate and very amazing world.
Thank you, Lesley, for sharing something positive and precious to see instead of all the negative and depressing news all around us! 💙🐦🐦🪽
You are welcome, watching birds is a good escape. Take care
Thank you, Leslie. Happy Mothers Day! ❤🎉😊
Yay Leslie ❤❤❤ thank you for all that you do when it comes to birds n teaching us about them

Thank you very much! :)
Wow, that was amazing! I'm in awe of how quickly they grow. They are so adorable too, loved seeing the parents fight off the intruders. ❤
It really is amazing. Thank you for watching!
This just shows just how FAST they grow!!! That’s insane how much growing they do every single day.
Your videos are the reason I started feeding birds in my backyard. I even have been able to feed them by hand now. Thanks so much🙌🏾
Awesome! It's such a wonderful experience, you will probably be able to give them names soon :)
This just made my heart happy today! Thank you💖
Wonderful! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Bumble bee was helping! 🥹
So glad you're back! Watching this wonderful bird mom and dad raise their little ones-what a happy and joyful start to Mother's Day weekend! A very thoughtful and appropo choice of a post! Happy Mother's Day to you, Lesley, (if you're a mom?) and all the moms out there-feathered or not! 🪶🥰
when I moved to California from Seattle I left behind these amazing little birds. thank you for bringing me a piece of my childhood
take a long drive and see the mountain chickadees :)
You are very welcome! :)
So precious, i have had a mallard nest in my backyard returning for 5 years in a row, one year she did 2 batches.😊
I'm so glad to see you're back. I had just discovered your channel, really enjoyed it, and then heard you apparently retired from making videos.
I'm really glad that's not the case!
This was soul healing. Thank you ❤
Thank you, Lesley!
You're welcome, and thank you, too :)
So glad you're back and in such fabulously delightful timelapse of our Chickadee friends. Really appreciate the setup and editing work. Fascinating and precious!
Now I know what kind of birdhouse to get for the Chickadees!
Thank you Lesley! Really nice illustration of why we all must plant native host plants - the babies eat the caterpillars that are eating the leaves of host plants. National Wildlife Federation plant finder can help.
Absolutely!
Feebee❤chickadeedeedee 🎉
Great video!
To be honest, the fact that YOU CREATED IT brings me the most joy!
Wishing you the same joy your work brings to my life ! ❤️ 😊
Aww thanks so much :) Same to you
So Lesley, our chickadees had a brood the exact day I left my last blacked capped comment!! OMG a yard full of blackcaps - so adorbs - BUT so far two decided to stake residency in the bottle brush trees in the backyard (with the feeders) now that they know how to get seeds out of them and how to eat them. They are really cute!!!
Fascinating video. Thanks so much for sharing this
It's pretty neat seeing them grow up like that! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)
clearly the bee was the decorator and came to check and give tips 😌
Miraculous and beautiful.
I remember watching one of your earlier videos where you said that a chickadee says, "Cheeseburger." I thought, man, Lesley is high; they are clearly saying "He who..."--two syllables, not three! But then I started listening, and sure enough, they often are dividing the second tone into two distinct notes!
Of course, they have mastered a variety of calls. My young friend Reuben claims they are saying their name in one of them: "Chicka chicka DEE DEE DEE DEE."
Awww...for one brief moment I thought the third egg would rally. But two out of three is a win, imo.
Thank you for this glimpse into the wild. 😊
This is awesome 🤩
Thank you :)
Great to see you back, thanks God…!!!
Thank you very kindly :)
I didn't think I could possibly love that beautiful bird anymore than I already do...but you've gone and made me love them even more. Thank you for sharing...God bless...
You are so welcome!
Is anyone else surprised by the corner egg actually hatching
Great video by the way
Thank you for the excellent video.
It’s sad that the 3rd hatchling didn’t make it.
Always enjoy your videos.
You're very welcome and thank you too. I was so sad that the little one didn't make it, very heartbreaking.
Did they take him out?
@@martinagracheva Yes, the mother did
All men should be like birds take care of thier family. Ok I know not all birds are comparable but these black caps are a fine example.
Talkative little fellows!
Those two were so chatty, it was adorable
First!!! ❤ Lesley 🥰🥰
Oh, Leslie. Thank you so much!
You're very welcome, thank you too :)
Beautiful video. These are hard working parents!
So true, they are amazing. Thanks for the kind comment.
So glad youre back Leslie. Thanks for the video 💕
Thank you very much :)
My, my, did Mama really go bonkers on that Wasp!! 🦟😵💫
The bumblebee was the landlord making sure the house was in living conditions
What was just truly authentic was what looked like a bumblebee stopping in and even added fluff in the nest before it left.
it’s a terrific amount of precision work and effort to deliver those two chicks, to gather food and protect them.and then it starts again. just a bird?
As in all of life, timing can be tricky. Still, to bring two fledglings up is no small accomplishment. That was a big meal; the youngster was determined to get it down!
The bee was the hidden surprise. :)
Tye way she fluffed her down feathers on day 18 & 19, anticipating their birth! 🥰
Thank you Leslie!!! I absolutely love this video. That are such hard workers ❤❤❤❤.
I'm so happy you enjoyed this video. I agree, very hard workers indeed :)
The forest is a Nation State
Where i can relate
The skittering of critters
Is a change of pace
Its a sacred place
Full of sacred grace
Pleasantries of plenty trees
Plenty seeds to grow
A change of fate
Foggy mist in the morning
Spruce trees in a drawing
I exist without falling
Yawning need coffee in the morning
The red sky warning
Birds of the same feather
Sometimes fall in love
In the midst of rainy weather
Mating for life
Love changing the grains of their eyes
New fledglings,the best things
Stay nesting,resting
Til they are brought food
Bugs and grubs ingesting
To learn the ways of the world
The ways of the birds
Ceremonial songs are sung, spoke and heard
I give tufts of dog fur to help make nests
Everyday with the birds
My heart feels blessed
Sadness disappears from my chest
Replaced by a smile feels best
Songbirds chirp the chorus
Zipping through the corridors
Of the paths in the forest
Endless wilderness
I cant wait to explore it🌲
They are so very very cute! Can't get enough of them. And those fluttering wings in fast motion was just so adorable. Thanks, Lesley!
Those two were the cutest baby chickadees I ever watched before. Really enjoyed them :) Thanks for watching. Have a great weekend.

I thought they were forgetting about the first egg. So glad they got it in the nest
Was it the one that died because he hatched later?
Yes, that is the one. It was sad.
