I can't wait to watch this video, and i will say, welcome back! I can't thank you enough for cementing blue jays as my favorite bird, and as such for a long time in the future.
@@LesleytheBirdNerd This year, I have only heard one a single time; maybe it's just a weird start to the year in Wisconsin, and they'll come back some time. I'd love to see one again, or maybe even get a photo of one. The day that I got into birdwatching was an interesting one, I had awoken to the sound of a blue jay and decided that I would try and get out of bed and pull out my camera to try and get a photo of it. I wasn't able to locate it, unfortunately, but on the way of trying to find it I had found a robin that I eventually decided to follow with my camera to see where it would go. I kept looking at the various birds I saw, learning which bird was what through google searches of its description, and even learning calls with some app that would say which birds' calls it heard, all the way until some sandhill cranes came, which stayed around until it got too dark to see anything much. That day, I had spent the entire day birdwatching, getting to see the sun rise, and set, all in one sitting, and learning quite a lot about birds. It was like something had flipped in my brain; going from someone with not much of an interest at all in birds, someone who had called a robin a cardinal, and couldn't name anything about them anyways, to someone who could recognize most of the birds I see, and even name a few facts about them. From there, too, I have developed quite an interest in learning more about birds, and a part of this jump into a new hobby was actually sparked by some of your videos, which worked in harmony with my obsession for the blue jay species.
I don't think so. This is the longer video she's been working on. I don't think there are any more planned, but I hope there will be more in the future.

Oh Leslie so glad to see a video again! And just in time! My favorite bird, the Chickadee, is busily building a nest in their box at this moment, here in Michigan. I have been hoping they would, and have been putting out fur from my (indoor) cat Lucy. Now their nest, ironically, is lined with her fur. I saw them sparring with a house wren yesterday after the wren entered the nest box. They really went after her and won the bird fight. Hopefully the wren won't get too aggressive. Also have six newly hatched Bluebird babies in my other box. Spring is here! Thanks Leslie ❤
Awww how wonderful. too bad about the fighting between them and the wren though, Hopefully that doesn't happen again. Too good about the Bluebirds having hatched. They are such sweet birds. Have a great time!
@@LesleytheBirdNerd Thanks! Hopefully the wren learned it's lesson. I also have a bully Robin that dive bombs the Bluebirds, but they are tough cookies. You have taught me a lot and your videos are so calming and expertly done. My Dad is 95 and just loves your videos. He is the one that found your videos and then showed them to me. You are making a wonderful impact in this harsh world.
Oh my gosh, love that your 95 year old father enjoys my videos. Too awesome :D Tell him I said hello and thanks for showing you my videos :)
@@LesleytheBirdNerd I will! He will be thrilled that I know the Bird Nerd! He just went into assisted living and is doing well. I bought him one of your bird T-shirts. 🐦
Nice to see you back Lesley! Thank you for the video!

What a day! After 4 years of stocking 3 feeders month after month only today did we see our first red headed wood pecker, one of our favorite wish list birds! Then - Leslie’s back?! With chics, our favorite tiny birds at our invulnerable “squirrel buster” peanut feeder. What a special day! Thanks Leslie, thanks!
