The only thing you got wrong was the air intake. It's not the side cover that looks like an intake, that's a fake intake. It's still above the radiator, it's visible at mark 5:20
Ah, you're right. Now I want to pull it off and expose it.
@@BrandonBicasso great videos, keep em coming.
You have very good narration skills Brandon, and I can see why Indian invites you to test rides their bikes. You have now become one of my favorite influencers to watch on UA-cam.
I appreciate that! Always working on improving each time I get a chance to do these.
dude outstanding details on the bikes and greet explanations! that white 101 is wooooooo weeeeeee thanks for spending my money 😂
Chiming in. When I started watching UA-cam, Brandon was the 1st, yes, the very 1st motorcycle content creator that I got hooked on watching. Nice to see your progression over the years man. This is your calling…for sure. Keep up the great work.
I was just at the showroom by me 2 days ago, and they had the red 101 and white metallic 101.... both were beautiful... I'll be spending my money soon enough as well, haha!@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA
Good video. The 40,000 mile valve maintenance interval amazes me. Back in the day you'd need a rebuild around 40,000.
Engineering and testing has come a long way.
As someone who also does his own maintenance, thank you for encouraging me to upgrade to 2025. This generation might be my forever bike.
That's awesome. It's a great platform and got me to Indian. A lot more will be pleased.
Indian ties these things together well
Indian did a great job on the Scout. I'm an HD guy (who also likes Indian), and I would buy the new Scout over the new Nightster. And probably over the the Sportster S too. I'm partial to HD on the bigger bikes, but Indian is winning the midsize segment in my opinion.
i rode the 101 yesterday in chattanooga, and holy shit. its so much better than the current scout lineup. theyve really made the right move with the new scouts!
How tall are you?
@@speaktruth247 I'm 5'9". My 6'1" buddy also rode it and loved it! He's considering dropping his 21 scout for it.
@Slayer_syndicate that's good to hear, because I'm also 6'1 and was wondering about comfort.
@@speaktruth247 he's a newer rider, but he said he thinks he could add floorboards and be good. It honestly had me feeling a little stretched out but it was mean and I think I'd ride it anyways. Plus they've got different size risers now for the handlebars to help.
I rode with a few 6'+ folks and they also mentioned how riding the Sport/101 was tolerable. Floorboards and 10" risers made the difference. Lot of combinations to make it more comfortable. 6" risers is my sweet spot.
I think they should have used the scout classic fenders for the super scout. Would give better protection in rain for touring
That or turn the scout classic into a Super. Just bolt the windshield and bags on. Same subframe.
I think they did it for price because the bobbers cost less so they give it the bob and that buys budget because their accessories arent cheap. I dont like the bobbed fender I like the classic fender too. I like caste wheels
On the brakes, they're technically from FTR/Sport Chief (which are also sort of from Challenger). Yeah, Brembo.
Brandon, you've always done good Indian Motorcycle videos. I've been waiting on Indian to upgrade the scout. I am very thankful to you for your informative videos on the upgraded Scouts.
Sure thing, Frank! So much more to cover haha.
great job i think you covered everything I wanted to know
Just ordered the 101 in white. Real excited to get it in. supposed to be shipped by the end of the month! Thanks for the videos. helped me decide which I wanted.
Awesome, glad you got value from it. 🤙🏾
I'm hoping I'll be getting the 101 as my forever bike once I get back into riding. Fixed everything I wanted with that edition.
Well done. Very informative and great use of the camera to show everything you're explaining.
Love those Indian motorcycles❣️
They’re just keep getting better and better👍
Thanks.
Thank!!
That info would cut through a hundred road tests.
Great video.
Check out the main video I did for everything. 🤘🏾Glad you got value from it. ua-cam.com/video/_NYQn2NqRZQ/v-deo.htmlsi=qq07INmVuDCgzh04
Why is no one talking about the largness look of the bike. It's more bulbous and less slim and clean looking. Why the hell did they change the way the tank looked?? This isn't a chief, its a bobber. Don't give us a chief tank and rear fender. WHY?
I think no one was concerned except you bro
nah man i feel you. i like the old look of the scout bobber way more.
Indiana makes a chief bobber
So I saw a video showing that you can use a hole saw and cut a hole into the baffle to get a really good rumble. Go in thru the hole at the end of the exhaust. Use a retracting magnet to grab and pull the cut out piece from inside the muffler and you have an awesome exhaust without switching or needing a bunch of specialized equipment
Yeah, a good amount of work. Still looks meh but at least there's an option.
@@BrandonBicasso it works for me. I’m weird I like OEM parts on my stuff usually so it works. Now I just need the bike lol
Oh that’s perfect then. I was totally fine with the exhaust note tbh. I would’ve been fine riding it as is too. 😅
@@BrandonBicasso I wouldn’t have minded if I hadn’t owned a Harley first. Now tho I feel like I need that 😅
EXCELLENT.
10+/10
PERFECT.
WELL done sir, WELL done.
Greetings from 'OZ'. (Australia)
I like how your time wrenching AND riding has helped your reviews mature. And having attended a few releases now has helped you not be so starstruck. There's a lot of good experienced point of view here, which very much ups the quality. You pretty much covered all the stuff we grizzled riders wish would be covered.
When I get to these releases, I'm all work soon as I get there. I could've done a better job so I've learned from some mistakes on this one as well.
I dig the white background on black text speedometer
Great review and showing all the features. I’m really confused now as I nearly got sold on a Scout Bobber 1133 last month, then saw the newer 1250 coming out but the Limited + Tech plus the add ons I want now make the Chief Bobber in the same price range. Decisions, decisions, I’m one day HD, then Triumph, then Indian and now back to Indian…… look forward to the event at my local dealer test riding a few next month. 👍🍻
Definitely glad they kept the analog versions with the addition of the fuel gauge. That was really all I thought the old scout needed. Happy to not be forced into the techy models with the even bigger price increase.
Yep, it's all an option.
I could consider selling my Octane and getting a 101 but, that Octane is a very sweet looking bike!
Brandon on it! As usual. Still gonna get that Challenger tho! 😆🤘
Different type of ride but a good choice.
Well I’d say it’s a perfectly average sized oil plug. Gets the job done just fine….some might even say it’s the biggest they’ve seen.
I struggled unreasonably to rethread that thing.
@@BrandonBicassois the headlight lense made of plastic
As someone who just bought a 2017 scout like a month ago. I'm going to go ride a 101 and it might be what i end up getting (depending on insurance )
Get that wallet warmed up.
Really good video of the 101, I’m actually considering buying one myself. I was looking at this in white or a Harley Davidson breakout.
Glad you got value from it. Of course, test ride both if you can!
Thanks for this series on the new Scout. Can't wait to get a close look when they land in England.
Definitely get a good look when you can!
Im due to get first one in UK, june/july :)
@@alanhay-i5d ooo that’s gonna be exciting.
Very informative, best on YT for Indian.
Appreciate that.
Well done Brandon
Tis a sweet machine.
Great! - Thanks for the video!
Part of me wants to trade in my classic scout... the other part of me realizes that I have proper cruise control installed on it via aftermarket, and I REALLY don't want to swap all that out again.
Well the new ones come with it from the factory in 2 out of the 3 trims on all models so, you shouldn't need to.
Am buying the 101 next year
Very informative thank for posting, when do you get to review them on the road?
Already have. Can't release road stuff until the 17th.
How's the clutch pull feeling? It has a slipper clutch now I believe I read. So I wondered how that affected the pull.
Very light pull. Almost too light tbh. Aimed at beginners tho.
@@BrandonBicasso Oh wow ok. I recently rode a 24' and thought the clutch felt pretty good. The difference will be interesting to see.
You are starting to look at bikes through a mechanics eyes
I have so many questions haha. Cool that the engineers were open to talk about a lot of it.
Glass lense headlight bro my 2008 kawasaki had it
I was just thinking if the covers can now come off easily how long til custom head covers are available. Could you imagine some glass head covers with black lights inside or some custom metal or even carbon fiber. The coolant hoses definitely need to be swapped for a custom set glass tube's would be sick.
That would be SUPER SICK. I’ve wanted carbon fiber covers for my ThunderStroke. Oil temps should be fine for the resin used to hold it all together. Glass radiator tubes would be awesome too.
Damn good review! Answering the questions we really want to know. That bike looks amazing. Indian going to have a hit on their hands with this.
How is the heat on the right thigh? That’s the one thing on the Scout that I really didn’t like.
Everything but the exhaust is beautiful. I can deal with that any day. Awsome bike.
Dang sexy bike. Great video (as usual) 👍
Great video, Brandon. I wanna see the Fuel economy changes for myself. If it is getting 60mpg or better, that is huge.
I had some 50-60mpg moments while cruising for sure. I think the range will surprise some people. Will need more time with it to see for myself.
@@BrandonBicasso with gas prices being as bad as they are, this would be a great thing. Especially running high octane
They look good. Owner 2023 HD Nightster special. Semper Fidelis
I'm impressed with the new 101
I wish there's a way that we can put the ride command on a 2023 scout model but they don't want to tell so you can buy a new bike for that specific stuff 😢
If I don't get the Buell, 101 will be my next bike!
I probably won't get a chance to touch a Super Cruiser in this detail but if I do, it will get the same treatment as Scout.
What does the 101 stand for Brandon? I like the clutch cable adjustment locale. Thank you
I have a Harley Davidson, Lowrider, ST and love it. But man this is a nice bike.
That’s awesome. I had a LowRider S as well. Great platform.
Should have went with octane wheel specs, way better tire options available. Also the ride modes, cruise control, tcs and fuel gauge should have been on the 18+ models or at least 20+ models. My 20 Triumph had all that w/ dual brembos.
Good ole business games.
Very good and informative video. We need more videos like this. I heard that Indian added an assist and slipper clucth. Is trhis true?
Yep, there's a slipper there.
Do the side bags come off quickly? Please let me know
Yes. Quick release. Same as windshield.
Lots of custom stuff can be done on that bike for sure.
Enjoyed the Scout series.
Now let’s get these subscriber numbers up.

Great video.
Do you know does new Scout 101 have cornering ABS?
It does not. Standard ABS across the range. Only traction control on Limited and Limited+Tech trim.
@@BrandonBicasso Thanks for the answer, and strange that they skipped on this, but event without cornering ABS it still looks attractive.
U were one of those kids that used to take your watches apart, weren't you? I know I was.. 😊
@@happyness5293 I took so many things apart that never got put back together. 🌚🤙🏾
Do you think that I am going to cook on this when it hits 100F in Arizona? I do ok on my BMW 1200GS, I am looking to add a second bike to ride. I am looking at the new BMW R12 cruiser in comparison to this...
You'll cook on most tbh. I was fine on this, personally. Heat was an afterthought compared to previous gen Scout.
Does the new engine retain the dual sump plugs? Is it possible to "easily" check the coolant level? Still using the 15w 60 oil grade? Blah blah..
Woah duel sump plugs? At least take me out for dinner first you filthy animal
I have an inkling feeling when I downsize from my HD bagger that this might be on the short list to test ride/bring home. Harley could never fit this many top tier components on at this price.
I definitely say give it a go. Even if not for you, ride it just cause.
Brandon how did you like riding to Santa Cuz ? I saw 👀 you guys ride by. 🤘⚡️🤘✨✨
Lot of fun. Beautiful area.
@@BrandonBicasso good riding out here. 🤘⚡️🤘✨✨
Salute Bradda
Are the batteries still the same or did they go with something better?
With the new electronics added, battery is bigger. I don't recall how much bigger tho. AGM and not lithium also.
Thanks bro, always enjoy your videos.
Where i live them motorcyvle batteries shit the bed about every 2 years even if i always park in tbe garage because its so damn cold at night and hot in the day
What's the mpg for the new scout
Eh.. at least 40. I had some moments of getting 50-60 while cruising in 6th gear. I think 140 is a good range to shoot for. I didn’t get a chance to test that extra 20ish mile range. I’m sure 180 miles is possible IF you ride the speed limit and in rain mode to empty. But riding sport mode with a fist full.. maybe 20mpg. That doesn’t include weight and hill terrain which eats mileage.
Stage 3, 240 back end 180 front end true spoke full custom Ohlins suspension Tank Machine upgrades to name a few…
I really like the jump post...all bikes should have that. But I dislike the key-fob concept on all bikes. That's just a needless idea.
Are the seats more comfortable than they are in the old scouts ?
Yes
The 101 looks like fun.
They all are tbh. 101 just a weebit more.
I just ordered the 101 lol.
What brand is the suspension system for the 101? Nice video 👍
No idea. It was asked, but Indian doesn't release that info anymore.
Gonna have to find out if the fuel pump and gauge is interchangeable with the old scout and octane to see if we can finally get a fuel gauge
Could work. Barrier is the CAN BUS and whether the previous Gen Scout's ECM will accept that data. Previous Scout has a pin on the speedo for the fuel light, but Chief reads it through CAN so I assume the new Scouts will too. Someone should try it tho!
@@BrandonBicasso I believe the scout and octane gauge already have a spot on the cluster for the readout as well, just like on the new scout analog gauge. Will be looking into this soon
I'm confused!
If the mileage is 42 mpg, how is the range on a 3.4 gallon tank only 87 miles?
Wouldn't that be 142.8 miles?
Or did you misunderestimate?
It was estimating based on the throttle input at the time. Similar to a current fuel mpg estimation on a car. Meaning, it was ridden aggressively so mpg will be lower.
Can the heat shields off so you can wrap them?
Likely, yes. Indian hasn’t released a bike that doesn’t allow that
when comparing the new 1250 scout vs 1133 scout - do you think the new one is better suited for taller riders (6.1 and 200 pounds), the 1133 made it feel somehow strange.
Yes, other 6’+ riders I rode with were comfortable on the bike. They enjoyed the 10” riser set up most.
How long is it from your finger tip to your elbow brother i wonder how much of a role that plays 😂 what if you got short arms bit this oddly long torso
I don’t like the color red but that little bit of red on that white with the black was sexy
I like the classic limited with tech trim where its red with chrome. I want to look like i came out of peak 1960s like i just got elected president and im on my way in an open top chromed out automobile about to get my brains blown out by some disgruntled communists mobsters and potentially others if that suits your fancy. You know real iconic looking, you say damn it looks like the economy is booming from a post ww2 peace era or something.
Quick question, so you can put 240 but no accessories even though max would be 180 to use accessories.
Essentially. The 240 can't work with the subframe or the fender. It's too wide. Same as previous gen Scout. You want the accessories on the rear, can't go bigger than 180.
Brandon, would you know if the new mid controls are farther back than the current Scout?
I’m not sure. Did not have any mid controls available to try. Missed opportunity.
Went away from cast aluminum frame did they?
Sure did.
Getting a classic, like it much more. Not a fan of bobbed/cut fenders. Love thd classic look and having 101 tune on it. No need to spend 3500€ more for me. Id get a chief for peanuts more
What about the stator plug leak?
I’d like to think that’s been solved since it’s a new engine 😂
Review of a nara bronze metallic smoke in a sport scout please 🤝🤝🤝
Didn’t have access to one.
Great video one question how is the clutch pull on the 101? Is it about the same as a Harley clutch pull on my Harley at the end of the day my hands hurting from pulling the clutch in
Lighter than most clutches. Has clutch assist with a slipper.
Here goes Brandon impatiently waiting for one of these to hit the copart auction lot 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Somebody gone cook a corner too hot and low side one or wheelie it into a tree. 😂
@@BrandonBicasso as long as the rider is ok. Bikes are rebuild able with enough 💰
always!
Curious if we would be able to integrate the ride command and cruise control on to the older model scouts.
Not without significant work. An engineer said with some wiring work, the screen can be added. Cruise control is a tough one. ECM doesn’t know what cruise control is so would require some work there. Also, you’d have to mess with the hand control wiring to get the left side working. Otherwise, you’d have a touch screen only which is probably fine for most.
Would that include fuel gauge??
@@yumib7962 negative. Different fuel float tech on the pump.
@@BrandonBicasso I saw Hemisphere performance made an aftermarket fuel gauge.
Do you know anything about if it would be worth it?
For now Iv been doing trip meters logs but I ran out of fuel once bc my light came on and then 5 miles later I ran out so that light basically is unreliable to me.
I wonder if the new FTR’s will get a bump to 1250?
That I don’t know but good question.
The ftrs are crazy
non-locking saddle bags are a big deal breaker...
Dudes, that engine is good-looking!!
I think so too. So many powder coating ideas 😂
The last one looked really good too I wish they sold that thing in a crate.
Good Job
So I don't know if I'm nitpicking but the welds on the frame near the air intake are hideous
That’s a first.
@@BrandonBicasso I saw a Sport Scout in person for the first time today and the welds jumped out at me for some reason. I'm not a welder. Now I can't unsee them
Hey, fair assessment. I didn’t pay much attention to them. I’m used to Harbor Freight welds so everything looks better. 😂
Very interesting 😀
I wanna know how hard be to bolt long fender on scout 101. That’s only thing I’m not likening on 101
From a ‘25 classic? Probably only a few minutes. They all use the same sub frame. May even be able to make a pre ‘25 work.
@@BrandonBicasso yeah I like the brakes and suspension on 101 but I want that on classic scout. And the extra hp. You could do it as it seems. Just ends up costing way more. So putting fender on 101 may be much more cost effective. But I’ll have to sit on both and see.
Yeah, that makes sense. The front fender would be the challenge. Mounts differently on the forks.
Has anybody mentioned pv3 tune ability yet?
I haven't kept up with it or know if the ECMS have been unlocked either. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
Does it have twin throttle bodies?
Single like previous Scout and the rest of the Indian lineup
I've heard maybe 63mm
It such a beautiful and cool bike, such a shame its 17k plus .
Who can afford this bike for what its actually built for?
Def not for me. 🥴
Hate the fenders. Love the bike.
Fair! Swap em out for the classic. Do have to paint tho..
Coolies.
Call it dumb, but Im keeping my 23 Scout Rogue and putting a 101 right next to it. 😂
You’re talking to a dude that bought the same bike 4 times in a year 😂🤟🏾! Do it!
Yo I’m in the same exact boat as you 23 rogue will be crazy modded though!!
Must be a 23 rogue thing lol. I ordered a 101 and keeping the rogue as well.
Did it yesterday lol. Traded the bar & shield for a 101 and parked it right next to the 23 scout rogue 🎉. Love the vids Brandon
♠️INDIAN fighting Harley by focusing on a more reliable, serviceable bike, that’s also water cooled and looks fresh! Now all they need is VICTORY custom styled bikes!
Or just Indian. Unless it's a separate and independent company I don't care to see another brand.
I like to see chopper weight tire indian chief
I like my 2019 bobber more than the new ones
is this also TPMS capable
Yes, option is in RideCommand. No TPMS sensors on the wheels from factory.
Good content but holy shit what is that high pitched noise?! I can’t finish watching the vid
I'm not sure what you mean? Was it the outside a/c noise?
@@BrandonBicasso sounds like it could be, just one of those sounds that once I hear it I can’t not hear it.
edit: it’s the ac for sure. Like I said good stuff, keep it coming
