    The only time I ever came close to buying a new bike was in 93' and the year long wait killed that urge.
    With the number of low mileage 20 -30 year old bikes out there for less than $6k, I can't see any reason to buy new.

      That's a valid point! With so many well-maintained older bikes available at a great price, it’s hard to justify buying new. Plus, there’s something special about a classic ride. Thank you for commenting! MB

    We'll all be riding hemp fiber skate boards in the end. Glad I rode bikes in the good times. Open roads, gasoline powered big twins, 4 bangers, and triples. Loud and fun. Never looking over my shoulder for the esg gestapo.

    Esg doesn't matter any more they going to go under if they keep making over priced junk. 30k for a bike then spend thousands more because the seat sucks the suspension sucks the engine runs to hot. You should have to spend another dime if ya already spent 30k on the bike already just to make it ride and run right

      You make it sound like everything about the bike brand is junk but it’s not. Harley’s are like Chevy’s, Ford’s or Chrysler brands people like changing things on these products for comfort or performance?

      I get what you saying. That’s what the CVO bikes are for. But then your bike is no different than anyone else’s. That’s what Harley offers. A bike you can build out yourself and is different than everyone else’s. That’s always been the motto. You don’t like that buy another brand. But Harley is far from a junk bike.

    • @DKCustomProducts
      @DKCustomProducts  3 дні тому +1

      You're right, the base bike should be better for the price. But honestly, no matter what people get, they always plan to make upgrades to get it just how they want it. You can see a video on this subject at this link - ua-cam.com/video/wV-2HBtg85Y/v-deo.html

      @DKCustomProducts exactly personalization is different making it your own is one thing. But having to replace stuff just to get it to run and ride and not break shouldn't need to be done on a new bike. And especially if that new bike is already costing 30k

      Guess you haven’t ridden the new ones lately. Heritage means nothing if the current product isn’t up to what others are producing. Harley is overpriced for what you get. Indian,Honda,bmw all offer way more for your dollar. Only thing Harley really has is dealers (which are decreasing each yr) the “lifestyle” and clothes. Other than that not really much else other than this did up the price by $1750 for the ‘25 models.

    I think there is a difference between ESG and DEI. Harley was going the woke route but backed off and supposedly are done with the woke crap. I think this is what many were concerned with. Both my bikes were made before Harley became woke so I didn’t do anything, it’s kinda like an old saying I used to hear “cut your nose off to spite your face “ I’m keeping my Harley’s.

      DEI is a component of ESG, it is part of the "S" for Social, and DEI is a critical factor in the Social grading in the ESG score.

    I understand supporting Harley Davidson and I also understand switching to another brand for better quality and price. Real change involving a particular company or government always begins with being respectful to others while requiring respect in return. Companies will follow where you put your dollar and government will follow where you place your vote.

    not sure what is wrong with companies that make changes that will have less impact on the environment, or social concerns. Society has been evolving since it began. things that impact the environment or social wellness have also been evolving. that is why we don't insulate with asbestos and have seatbelts. now as far as the score goes, if you don't monitor or track it, how do you know how you are doing? more importantly, how do you tell people that want to invest in you how you are doing? i don't invest in companies that employ child labour or have bad environmental records. that is why i wouldn't buy their products, not because they have a score

But mine is a Harley. I always wanted one...then I bought another. I really wish I was not worried about the thing grenading or worse, the kid that throws parts at it under my extended warranty. Why? Why MUST a company have a good ESG score? Why not just make a good product at a reasonable price? Just hire the best people you can regardless of what their attribute is that contributes to representation of categories that mean nothing. Why should anyone care what's showing on or in a person if the knowledge and skills they have make a better product? This is insanity. If I need surgery I don't care if the best surgeon I can hire is a green turtleman from Mongolia who thinks cats are sentient. Nor do I care if it's a Nordic Buddhist Chad with an ego to match Oprah. I want the best I can get. I'm blessed to have 3 Harleys in my garage so well built, I fully expect to pass them on to my heirs in the same perfect working condition. It's about the bike, not the color or creed of the engineer who designs it! Harley needs someone who can fix the rotting fork problem, not a blue haired Coptic socialist barber who can't understand what metal polish is for just to fill a DEI check box.
