The best thing about the Crystal Light is that it is only 5 calories per flight!
😄👌
You can always get a counterweight that goes on the back of the head strap. I got one for my Reverb G2 and a comfort head strap and it went from being mildly uncomfortable to wear to nearly unnoticeable.
Sold my G2 a while ago and kept the counterweight, not sure if it will fit the Crystal Light, but it was a gamechanger indeed.
Great review! And fantastic meeting you at the Expo :-)
You as well!!!
Nice review. Expecting mine later this month.
Thanks for the review! 😁
That's so cool! Thank you for the review
I’ve got the Pimax Crystal for just about a year now. It is rather heavy, especially if you’re older and have some neck issues. However, I do like some of the features that the light does not offer. But if I was purchasing it today, I would probably go for the light.
Great first impressions buddy. Best wishes.
You seem a really good guy, and i appreciate your review, but I will say, from one mans perspective:
1. 4 mins in, and you've told us nothing we didn't already know.
2. What about smoothness? Stutters?
3. What about the hz modes? 60,72,90,120?
4. OpenXR settings?
5. Colours?
6. FPS in regards to your card and cpu?
7. MSFS settings?
All the above is essential information for anyone across the board, taking into consideration the vast PC specs.
Just an opinion. Thanks.
Ok i been subbed to you for a while now but it time to leave.. u admit your a pimax fanboy and thats fine... however its very apparent you cant put your bias aside and give and objective review. Its to much now.. you listed 0 negatives of this headset. No chromatic abberation. No distortion. No quality issues. Cheep feeling in fact. The fact that it absolutely unnecessarily massive. You even recommended the standalone crystal for standing vr titles... no mention of the meta quest 3 as a suitable alternative.. couldnt even bring yourself to mention them...
This is very clearly an advert for pimax that your presenting
Look forward to using my psvr2 later this year when the connection kit is released for pc
Dude, you can keep the nice talking and successfully landing at the same time, you're pretty impressive lol!😄
Thank you so much with this excellent vidéo 👍🏻
Quick Quick the test with Crystal Light and the CLS-60/ Flitsim 😍😍👍🏻👍🏻

great video, thanks for the review.
How is the edge-to-edge clarity?
I have the Crystal Light as well but not OpenVR Tool kit in use. Much more smother without the OpenVR. My specs RTX4090 and AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
I really love it. A bit tweaking it goes like crazy cool. 60FPS super clear over New York.
So my question is, how is the FPS? I am still trying to figure out VR and it is my belief that the higher the resolution of the headset the more it impacts the performance of games like MSFS. I am not sure what you are seeing in the headset but in the video the FPS looks very suspect.
considering I still have the oculus rift.. I think when I upgrade it is gonna be a huge change :)
3900xt? wow, I went from a 5900x to a 7800X3D and what a difference with a 4090, a CPU upgrade will really help your VR experience, if you want to go on the cheap, 5800X3D should work on your current motherboard with bios update. If you want to go balls to the wall, 7800X3D, Aorus X670 Elite AX motherboard (less expensive but a great board), and 32 or 64 gigs of DDR5 - 6000 at cl-30. Try and stay with 6000 with AM5, some boards may not like higher rated ram and can cause stability issues until you turn it down to 6000 or thereabout. I get really good frame rates in MSFS using OpenXR with my G2v2 (resolution of 3160 x 3092). Crystal light on order, expecting it mid to late August, the wait is killing me! LOL
i returned my crystal because off the geometry warping at the left and right sight,it too me out off immersion.I heard this pimax light version has it too?
Since laying out my cockpit peripherals to work easily with mixed reality on my Q3, I cannot go back to normal VR. The visuals of the Pimax light sound great, but now only interested in a future upgrading to a better mixed reality headset.
What resolution are you running and how many frames do you get?
I do not use Steam VR. I found it less stable that using on my OpenXR.
Try MSFS with AutoFPS ☺️
Crystal Light is a fantastic experience. The best I had in VR.
Hey man saw you at the fsexpo 2024
Great times at the Expo! :-)
Are you using Microsoft store version of the sim or steam version. Also was steam vr running ?
Do you have head tracking problem? Mine has it. Any solutions? Please advice.
This new Crystal Light, is basically the Crystal minus stuff.
I mean, displays and lenses are the same. What we really want to see, is a review of the NEW Crystal, with new displays, aka, no dimming zones. please.
Where is your dof h3 😢? Ur not using it anymore?
9:30 I'm guessing the $4000 headset you can't think of at the moment is the Varjo?
From what I read, the QA is lacking and it's a lottery if you get a 100% working headset.
Hold up.. you believe eye tracking may be possible to add later on.?? Can you elaborate?
That got my attention. I didn’t believe this was the case
It’s not an option, at least not from Pimax.
Hold up..hold up.. you say it doesnt come with an audio source... doesnt it come with piped audio fron the strap.. the dmas speakers sold seperately on light and normal crystal. Or are you reffering to an audio jack that you can connect other headphones to??
I soooo hope that the main thread will be a little less of an issue with Msfs2024 - but I am skeptical....
Nice Video as ever.. I have the Pimax sinc one year. The visual is great but the comfort not!! It is too heavy. Thelight version ?? only 250 g lighter.. therefore i use my Pico 4 more often..😅
Worth every penny the only thing I did not like about my Crystal Light is the face foam is like a sweat sponge and there's a lot of side to side movement also I didn't think the controllers track very good for shooting games
Please please stop the boring and lengthy sales pitch
You know you have an option here? You’re allowed to not watch it, to just click and go somewhere else, if you don’t like!😂
Wilco!! Bye
Überflüssig 😂
Comfort is great??? I DO NOT BELEAVE. The light version weights nearly 1 kilogram.. not much better than my crystal.. the visual is and greater FOV is fantastisch and better as my Pico 4..
And Do not forget.. you need a 2500 € Rig to run it smoothly.. but that is a must have for every flightsimner 😂😂😂😂
Looks like a stutter fest
Yeh the video is not smooth at all.. I wonder how it feels in the headset?
