As a product shooter who still uses a CCD medium format back, I would buy a couple of sets of these.... However, about that price tag. I am better off buying a few more AD1200s and keeping bills paid! haha
I am with you. I would buy another ad1200 pro if i were to need the 2400 watts. I do like that the 2400 has a faster recycle speed. But that is a lot of money. I do a lot of school, sports action shots for senior pictures and the ad1200 is doing just fine with my ad600’s
I bought the Elinchrom ELC 500/500 so I can freeze Motion. Have you tested these ? Thought about getting the 1000 PRO HD but Adorama said to get these ELC 500 Can you show the difference in blur of a AD200’AD400 AD600 so I can see what’s acceptable to buy.
Nice glad to see Godox keep on innovating into the big leagues. I'll keep using my Broncolor Grafits unbtil they die, which there are no signs of this until now after 20 years.
Oh jesus there's a reason the unit Joule exists. Literally watts x seconds. Hearing watt seconds over and over is really frustrating for scientists/engineers haha
Profoto Pro-11 vs Godox P2400 would be a fun one. The Pro-11 has TTL/HSS but there is so much more to this. I also believe the Pro-11 does full dual 2400 output but might be wrong... BTW . What's the snap hook you have on the AD1200?
Probably so he can hang it from a stand easier. One thing to consider too is whether Godox will service these packs... it's only got a 2 year warranty. Profoto stops servicing their packs after a while too, which is kind of a bummer. For example, the 8a's are still great packs but they won't service them now anymore.
The red hook is just a carabiner because the 1200 is often used in our studio on a kupo boom arm. So with the carabiner we can attach it to one end as the counterweight to balance with the head + a large modifier on the other end. You can use the strap on the case for this too however then when you need to change the battery and lift the 1200 Pro out of it's case, the rig loses it's counterweight. By having it on the carabiner we can swap the battery without bringing down the perfectly balanced boom arm + modifier.
You can connect a 2400P head to an AD1200 pack, but it will still be limited to 1200w/s when the 1200 pack is at full power. Not sure what you mean by zoom feature with battery.
Great video as usual. I tried getting more info from Adorama on this, Flashpoint info, and a related matter but all their phones are going to some generic voice mail. Don't know if they are having some widespread problem???
First :'D Glad to see a review on the AD2400 - way to professional for me, but I agree in any points given. One heck of a flash device for pro (studio) work!
Haha it’s funny you mentioned that, by the time I worked in the field, the photography industry had already largely moved on from Speedotron. While I’ve seen some heads and heard of the brand, I never looked into their offerings. Until yesterday, when I was wondering how my 4800w/s Frankenstein setup ranked vs the most powerful flashes of the fast. That’s when I found the Speedotron X-treme quad head and wowza, 9600w/s (at a 1/1200 flash duration on top of that is insane). And then I was shocked even more to find out it could be had for under a grand used. I’m hoping to find one locally to try it out!
What I'm most curious about is the recycling time in color stable mode. Did you get that number at full power to compare against the default speed mode?
Could you please share how well you feel the EcoFlow 2 does with this? I'm looking for something really powerful like this that I can use on location, so the battery is really important to me
I wouldn’t call it a slug, as 2s for 1200 w/s at $1500 is very impressive vs offerings from other brands. But like I said in my initial video on it, had they just made a H1200 that sourced 2 600 Pros as power sources, there could have been a 1200w/s X-series option with a .9s recycle rate at full power. Those 2x adapter systems are a chore to setup but ultimately it would have been superior performance.
@@robhallphoto I contemplated the 2400 before I saw the price. I would get one if I needed the most frames at highest quality. As of Now I just lower the f stop or raise the iso if I need to do an action shot at high frame rates. Yes. It wouldn’t matter when you are using transmitter. It will if you want to attach the 360ii on your Nikon to shoot on camera since the flash protocols on thr 360ii are for canon
Yup, as long as your transmitter matches the camera brand, anything off camera will convert ttl signals. If it doesn’t work, just have to update your 360ii firmware.
Like a 1983 Speedotron pack, except with zoom and compatibility with a complete system of smaller strobes and speedlights. I look forward to seeing a shoot with a 2400 and a TT350 :-) The legacy 433-MHz radio is a nice touch - less likely to conflict with other radios (for example, in a building with multiple studios).

Tell the manufacturers and I'll happily get on board.
Great Review I will choose this over profoto Pro 11 $$$$$
I like that zoom effect. Nice way to get around Profoto's patent. Is that thing even still valid?
But the price is way above me.
It would be interesting to see the power measurement with the H2400P on the AD1200Pro. I presume it will work an that pack?

I think it\'s a good match with the BYD electric car😄

@@mr.kentam oh, yes the zoom will still function, that's a mechanical feature so nothing about the 1200 pack limits that.
It seemed like such a good idea to leave cinematography and move towards photography...
No high speed sync is disappointing. The AD1200 is more useful, flexible.

I'd like to see it compared to a Broncolor unit.
At what power level can it do 20fps and 30fps?

We'll probably see Godox replace Speedotron completely once a 9600 Ws head is released.
