    Sometimes you have to get out and do some bank fishing for bass, and there's no one I'd rather take than this little dude! I love getting back to my roots and expanding my horizons to different types of fishing...hopefully you guys can get out and try this at your local lakes. Remember, TAKE A KID FISHING. It may change their lives, but at the very least, you will create memories that neither of you will ever forget.

    My wifes account was signed in for the comment below. Been watching you for while trying to improve my bass game. Thought this bluegill vid would be fun to try this morning at a local spot ive nailed some 3-5lb bass. First try and ended up nailing a 7lb catfish instead but had other bites so definitley fun and got snagged alot less since the bait gets itself out of the rocks. Cant wait to see more vids!

    In my head I don’t understand how Max and say Lojos son aren’t constantly out bass fishing and seemingly don’t know how to use a baitcaster... is max using a spin caster lol , Ben come on brother go teach that boy your ways.

    Milliken, I know you've been doing this for years but down here we have a 9,10,12 and a 14 on the wall from live bluegills. Instead of setting as soon as the bobber goes under, wait and let the fish run for 30 yards then set.

    You should hook the clip on the top of the bobber too, not just the bottom like you were. Push down the little red top to expose just the hook at the top. Do both hooks and you won't lose a single bobber. But awesome video- love seeing the joy in your sons eye while fishing too!

    Guys, here is a top secret that I don't make any videos about because people know which pressured ponds I fish but the way I fish them makes it 10 times easier. Do you live by a pond where you can see the bass all the time but they just will not hit your lures? What you need to do is tie on a dropshot, and catch some baitfish out of that pond that they eat. Then, rig the bait on the dropshot on the hook by going in the mouth and through the roof of the mouth, then simply fish. The bait will tell you when a predator is around because you will feel him trying to get away. then you will feel the bass swimming away. then set the hook haha it's the best way I've found to fish pressured ponds, it works best if you can fish off of a bridge or gazebo and watch. It's really money

    • @haydenbrown6490
      @haydenbrown6490 7 років тому +2

      Team Wagy thank I will try that because the pond I go to isn't pressured but you can see them eating bluegill

      I know what you mean, the bait will let you know if hes about to get chomped. Ive had some crazy topwater blow ups where my bluegill or shiner will go straight to surface, do a little splash then BAM topwater explosion. Or like you said they will suddenly get super active underneath then shortly after your line will start running. Ive recently gotten hooked on live bait fishing because of the action ive had. Im 33 and fished artificial since i was 12 or so up until about a month ago. Only time i fish artificial now is when im throwing casts between catching fish on live bait 😂

    You kept losing your bobbers because you only hooked the line onto one catch, unless there's some method to your madness of only hooking your line to one catch instead of both. In which case, I'd like to hear about it (well maybe... you did keep losing them ;)!

    Fished blue gill perch with bobber for years. Had a lot of luck but stumbled on a better way to fish the perch. Take the perch dorsal fin up stick him in the head to kill. Now hook him like a minnow through the back no bobber no weight. Cast in areas you might throw a worm around edges and drop offs. Be sure to push release button if you set your rod down. If you don't get a bite after a few minutes cast and reel on top of water to atrack attention and stop and let him slowly sink. I have caught several big bass doing this a lot more successful than cork. Mostly I fish farm ponds. Good fishing everyone!!!!!!!

    i’ve never thought about using live bluegills for bait, but after seeing this... i’m definitely gonna give it a try this spring/summer. I really only fish ponds, and the ponds I fish are so overrun with bluegill it’s starting to stunt their growth and shit. the owner won’t let you keep any, so I might as well use em as bait.

    I use 4 inch gills but, I hook mine just under the skin in the neck, my lake doesn't have many bass in your size range (small) has a bunch of finicky large bass in the range of 3 to 7 1/2 pound beasts. Tried hooking them in the tail, had more stolen gills than caught largies so that's why I hook them the way I do. I lost a lot of floats when I only "single" attached them, maybe it is because I use 20 lb. Spider Stealth braid. I fish in heavy weed pockets and the braid cuts weeds like a lawnmower instead of piling on the fish. Now I hook my line on both ends of my 2" float, no more lost floats.
