+Legend Mathai it's a little practice amp with 3 inch speakers the bass is ok but who cares. it's not an amp you would record with. It's just for practice
I like how they took the modeling route but didn't sacrifice tonal quality for quantity of modes/effects like Roland, Peavey, Fender, etc.. This kicks the ass of anything else in the ballpark.
Bought one today for a practice/grab and go amp for when my 60 watt tube combo is just too much. I was skeptical but have to admit it's pretty damn good for a small, portable solid state amp. Well worth the price.
For anyone that owns a Line6 Spider, or is thinking about choosing between Line6 and Blackstar (budget/practice amps), everything everyone says is true, spiders are shite compared to these little amps, the tone comparison is actually fucking ridiculous, its miles better in every way, if you own a spider get rid of it and buy this its only £100. FYI I play metal.
so in love with amp...i got some great Red Hot Chili Peppers tones out of it...and the chorus effect on this amp is to DIE for lol the distortion tones are pretty good...but i never go past super crunch 😂😂😂 all in all this amp is BRILLIANT...hands down the best amp for under $150
I played a tube version of Blackstar's amps. The ISF control is impressive. With the tube amp, I got a great bottom end tone. I play with a powerful bottom end sound. My quest and question is if the distortions are actually metal? Not another muddy or almost great sounding amp. With solid state, I yet have not tried a stereo sounding solid state. Perhaps it might hit my tone goal. \m/
Paul, I always love listening to you. You remind me of Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future film (that's a compliment) when he blew everyone away with his guitar solo. You even kind of look like him. I wish I know what your patches are that you used for this amp ESPECIALLY AROUND 4:01 and at 4:44. They sound great! Of course, part of it is the pro playing the guitar too.
This is a damn fine product!! I have a Boss Katana 50 amplifier and I'm very satisfied, but this amplifier works like a magnet on my interrest organ!!! Next amplifier has to be a Blackstar!!! Man those mysterious black boxes drive my curiosity wild as hell!!!!!!
Thanks for the awesome to the point good playing nice demonstration just pick this thing up and I really like it I have tinnitus and you can get such a good sound at a quiet level that it's really awesome the 3-in speakers don't leave much in the way of buzzing it's just the quality of the sound is so good you can tweak it to so many different sounds thanks Black Star and thanks Guy for the video
When you say the amp is stereo, I assume you mean it is mono, but has two speakers, since the output from the guitar is mono? I currently have a Line 6 Spider IV 15 as a practice amp, and even with a good guitar the sound it puts out is dull and muddy. Are those amps well known for being a bit rubbish?
ColtraneTaylor A practice amp is generally a cheap amp made to give you a sound that doesn’t completely suck. Mostly just used to “practice.” But most of the time, the amp doesn’t sound as good mic’d up as it would in a room.
@@CoffeeHead047 its been 2 years now since i own this amp and now i can say *this amp work no good with other external processors*. However the amps own effects are awesome!!

If anyone wants to hear how fucking great this amp sounds when you're recording directly in to a computer, go into my channel and watch my last two covers :)
How about that 3" inch speakers it is enough for playing in biger living room?, or I should buy 20W 5 inch ? and gain is enogh for hi-gain metal playing? please tell me someone thx, I want amp for practice and sometimes drunked playing on party
Why does everyone who reviews this amp mic it up? I'm not a musician, so I'm not trying to be smart. I'm serious. I don't know, but I kinda want to hear it from its own speakers. I have been trying to decide what amp to buy for a giveaway for my channel. So I hope to hear from you. Thanks in advance.
Its more about the clarity of the overall sound along, with the projection and volume at which you're recording at depending on your method (direct plug in or miced up). I've played this amp next to my other black star studio tube amp and its a very noticeable difference in clarity and crispness. So at a more professional level this practice amp may not hold up, that being said for practuce, demos and beginners its an awesome little amp. Also important to note that pedals get muddled a little on this small amp.
Man they had nothing like this when i was a kid, damn im jealous of all the toys kids today have got. We had those crappy Holmes amps, and were just thrilled it had o.d
I received this amp a month ago. I have a small hum not volume sensitive as soon as I plug a jack in, even without anything at the other end. I cannot find if my amp is faulty or if this is normal... Can someone help?
Laurent Davenne Could be a earth issue on you plug or the pots on your guitar has not been isolated, but then again it could be amp, troubleshoot as much as you can or take it back to the store to test it with your gear and their's.
It's odd, I've watched a lot of the electric guitar amp videos... And It always seems like a Marshall amp sounds the best at any size... I like the way my Marshall sounds the best from any other amps I've played....
You want to use a quality guitar to demo ANY amp because a shit guitar could make an amp with potential, sound like shit. but i get what you're getting at. He could have used a more budget level guitar, Fender Modern Players are GREAT for that
It's a good sounding amp but I cannot remove the noise gate on od1 and od2 channels which is crazy. If you remove the pc connection it came back. The sound goes off without fading!
You should actually check out their software, it's buggy as all hell. Yes, they offer it but between the firmware bricking amps and the non-useable download button through Blackstar Insider, they need to clean up the mess instead of just offering half cooked software. The amp on it's own is definitely worth the money but the extras? Not a good selling point if it doesn't actually work.
i picked up this amp last week and i love it. its a great little practice amp.

Barry Perry On the pc ?
setting of the amp he uses
Barry Perry He showed it 30 seconds into the video. Also below the video you have his video on his settings.
yes at 50 seconds he went through the setting but when he was playing the guitar from a 1,30 i think he didn't show what setting he used
fuck about with your own settings
Can you get a good country twang sound from this amp
Nice amp for clean sound and humbucker ultra distortion. Nice effects, and all. Gets saturated if you pass half the volume. Not good for strat sound.
+Juan Pablo Vivanco Actually i play with a Strat and ounds awesome
I just played it earlier with a Strat on the super crunch setting and it was very nice sounding.
It sounds good with the strat he is playing.
Robert O'Canas I would hope so considering that looks like the Jake E. Lee signature model.
is there a button on it for changing channels like clean to overdrive?

The distortion is a tad to "grainy" for me. Cool concept though but I'm not sure I can get on board with 3 inch speakers however, I could be wrong.
Some of the best bass cabs use 10 5inch speakers. Speaker technology has come a long way
