I have watched several other videos on this amp, and this video is light-years ahead of those videos. Great descriptions, demos, and graphics. I was shocked at the great sounds it offers in Class A mode. If anyone wants to call you a chicken, I would like to remind them that you jumped on stage at a G3 show with a slide. That could have gone wrong quickly, but you pulled it off. Great job!!
I dunno Doug…I think I prefer the Mark VII and the JP2C to the IIC+. HOWEVER, the IIC+ has this “sound in the room” feel especially when I’m doing Metallica stuff. The weird thing about it is that the VII sounds so much more open and aggressive whereas the IIC+ has this attacky saturation that accentuates palm mutes with this gnarly crunch.
Hey Charles! So funny you mention the whole sound in the room thing - such an integral part of the amp experience - right?!? There is almost undoubtedly a which amp is best for you and why video coming per the 'trinity'. In any case, thanks for watching and taking the time to jump into the convo - appreciated:)
@@DougDopplerMusic Dude...we live in a time where a guitarist can get a Reissue IIC+ that is faithful to the Original, a IIC+ with TWO EQ Faders (and SHRED!), and the MOTHERSHIP of Mark Amps in Mark VII. What a time to be alive!
Hey Nicholas, to paraphrase what I believe our mutual sentiment is for this amp, how in the world did they make this amp 40 YEARS ago and that the reissue is THIS awesome. While my love affair with the JP~2C is still very much ongoing, there's a new lady in the house and she's HOT!!! Cheers my friend:)
On paper the JP2C should be more versatile, but even with how many features as the JP2C has, the extra Pull features honestly makes the IIC+ a more versatile (and better sounding) head IMO.
Awesome video, Doug! I love how you showed the versatility of the IIC+. All your tones are really great.
Thanks and MUCH appreciated:)
This is what Mesa should have done! Great video, it shows how much you know about mesa

Chris, my dear, ever-faithful friend! Your kind words are ALWAYS appreciated;) And YES, the Class A tones are NUTS!!!
Great tones Doug! I got mine and man, wow it's a great sounding amp!
Great video on this amp, thank you!
Mesa/Gibson owe you big for basically doing what they catastrophically failed
Yes!!!!!
THANKS!!!
Nice!!!!!!
Nicely done, my friend! Thank you for taking the time to share those tones that inspire you!!!
Very nice, thanks for your efforts on this video.
You single-handedly saved this disaster of a product launch. Get video! Straight to point with actual usable sounds. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Compare it to the OG HRG
Is it sacrilegious to say it puts the JP2C to shame? 😂
