What is the brand or part number for the external fuel filter with very good filtration from my rusty fuel tank?

You should drop your tank and clean it. Stock fuel filter is fine to use, I got mine on RockAuto.

@MazdaMitch I had a mechanic fix the fuel gauge, he dropped the fuel tank out and fixed the fuel sending unit. I ended up replacing the fuel pump, and rubber fuel hose, the little nikki carb or intake manifold is leaking according to my spray testing around the carburetor. glass cover near the carb floats is showing quite a bit of rust dust at the bottom of the carb, for the 40 miles I've driven it in the last year. (1984 b2000) Thinking about replacing Nikki with a Weber. Parts are getting expensive and somewhat hard to find now. In it for over $1K in parts over the last year. I have a 1979 Courier as well, better shape than any I see on the highway nowadays. @@MazdaMitch
