I like how this guy keeps talking about the complexities of people trying to cross the border. What he keeps leaving out is the fact that they are trying to cross the border "illegally."

I think he's a bit of a jerk. I dont agree with Razor wire being used, BUT i get it. Im hoping that Texas being so excessive with everything will finally push Washington to do something about about the border issue that we've had for a long time. I understand some people are just looking for a new life, and safety but there is a right and wrong way to do it. There is a reason why so many states promised to send some of their own state guard there. I'm a proud Tennessean, so glad to see so many volunteer, our Governor promised 100 and we had over 400 volunteer to go.

I'm not too upset about the border issue. What I am upset about is the fact that 3 years ago during an eviction moratorium (COVID), I got COVID and had to take time off from work, ending up laid off. I feel two months behind on rent and even though there was a moratorium on eviction, I was evicted shortly after. I was told the city ran out of funds to help me pay rent or seek alternative housing. The city, who at this time had MILLIONS in state and government funding, refused to help me. Now all of the sudden they have money for illegal immigrants. I am a veteran. I am not saying that matters more than anyone else, but the fact that I put my life on the line for many years thinking my government and state would have my back when I ended my service. In the years since, I have realized my sacrifice was for nothing. I don't care if they help migrants. I DO care when they refuse to help those born here and gave everything. They keep saying they don't have the funding to help VETERANS, yet BILLIONS are spent on foreign aid, MILLIONS on ILLEGAL immigrants. I am tired of the lies. They DO in fact have the funding. They just choose to fund what they think will make headlines. If you want to LEGALLY enter the US, good. Do it ILLEGALLY, you are taking money away from those already suffering on the streets, and I think you should be banned for life from this country.

I have so much compassion for people who are trying to escape a dangerous country and find a better life for them and their family. There is a legal process to entering the United States legally but unfortunately it is a crime to cross the border illegally. Just like if you go in the store and steal some food and say the reason why you stole it is because you were hungry it's not going to void the crime and when a crime is committed law enforcement gets involved.
Their putting OUR COUNTRY IN DANGER , BRING THEIR DRUGS, DISEASES,ECT. KILLING OUR LOVED ONES.

Agree with your empathy here. It is the same in Europe, as you know. The southern hemisphere is overunning the northern for mutliple reasons, economic and otherwise. No, it isn't the fault of americans that she and 2 children died. It is a well--known risk for these people. Mexico, alas, does not want them either, and it isn't "safe" in Mexico for them either. Just do it LEGALLY. We need to have a better system for processing, border patrol, and limits on the amount of people. Otherwise it will just continue to grow out of control.

I live in Texas and also lived in Arizona for almost 20 years. This is an untenable situation. None of us are against immigration when done legally! Our country cannot take care of our own right now. We welcome new arrivals but we cannot care for the entire world!
Then support the bipartisan legislation that had already passed the Senate to empower the Executive to do more. Vote down the Republicans blocking it purely for political gains. I was born and raised in and currently live in Arizona.
