Jiu-Jitsu Techniques | Submissions from BAD Positions

- Here are a few unique opportunities that arise occasionally, which actually make submissions available from inferior positions. It is obviously better to gain the superior position, control and take the submission safely from there...however, sometimes the element of surprise from a bottom submission can take someone off guard.

These are some good tips since I often find myself in bad positions.
we all do ;)
Yeah felt that one buddy
As a smaller guy, I needed this!! Thanks!
Absolutely. It’s a big help for size differences.
best jiu jitsu channel on youtube
Man, I really appreciate that! 🙏
@@KnightJiuJitsu agree. your stuff is the best.
Agreed
I would 100% agree on that
I was literally amazed watching this video. You should write a book man your jiu jitsu is gold.
Wow! That’s a great compliment. Thank you.
Excellent scientific approach.
That inverted triangle was one of the first submissions I landed, crucifix and everything! Love using the crucifix because it can set up triangles, armlocks, chokes or it can just be a diversion maneuver. After all, no one likes having only one arm to attack. I hope I can remember some of these moves next time I'm in side control. Awesome video!
Most underrated channel for BJJ
How could I have missed this video? Thank you Sir I been watching your vids from New Zealand, now I'm in South America and I still believe you are ONE of the best instructors out there and I've seen many! Thank you and keep up the great work you do!
Almost makes it seam like there is no bad position once you know how to get around them! Nice channel you have there, just discovered it and subscribed good work bro!
I love that inverted triangle. Thank you for the details. Those are what I was missing to pull it consistently. I’m a smaller guy and this thing has been my savior in the gi. What I’ll often turn it into is a Peruvian necktie to omoplata, straight armlock, or a gi-assisted go-go plata. OSS!
I love it too. I got several of these details from Braulio Estima and from Caio Terra. They changed everything about that technique for me.
Knight Sensei, You are freaking awesome and a great teacher. You have clean demonstrations and clear explanations all the time.
Superb Sir Knight!
Every one of your videos is immediately usable. The techniques really work! Thank you so much
You should have more views, but then again, I'm glad you're not popularized as much so the cronies don't hear word about how to do good jiu jitsu :P you're probably my favorite bjj youtuber
Thank you so much for that!
Oh my goodness, that scarf hold reversal was just nasty
Nasty and great! It’s saved me a lot.
You make the best technique videos out of anyone I watch brother, i cannot thank you enough. You help me lots at the blue belt level. Oss👊
Thank you so much! I’m glad to hear I can help.
That ude-garami using the legs is awesome.
I agree. I love that technique.
The most beatifull and efficient simple explained techniques I ever seen, Great Maestro!!!! Oss!!! Greetings from Barcelona.
Gracias! Thank you so much and big shoutout to Barcelona!!!
This is awesome stuff. I'll need to watch this video about 10 more times
Your new fan from Taiwan, bro!
Great clips to show practical ways fighting back against bad pos.
That is awesome! Thanks and big shout out to Taiwan! 🇹🇼
First time I see this stuff. And it is also free. Really thanks. Not sure I will remember it but I will try something instead if my standard escape next time I am in bottom side control...
Awesome! Thanks for watching and let me know how it goes!
Love the focus on psychology feeding technique... reminds me of musashi’s go rin no sho...
Thank you for the reference!
Triangle choke from bottom side control! ......... outstanding!
Those are some super slick techniques my friend I'll watch this about 20 more times lol.
Just came across your channel this morning. On my way to open mat so I will try a few of these. Thanks.
Those were some amazing tips Coach Knight
Even closed space defensive move can be effective nicely done bro
Love these concepts. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent as always, also good to see an older training partner, I'm in my 50's still hit the gym three times a week. Keep up the good work always look forward to your videos.
Absolutely. Todd is a beast. I hope to be as tough as he is at his age (54).
Your style and techniques 👌, have helped my game a lot appreciate it.
Very glad to hear it!

Me too. These are some of the most fun to flex some creativity on.
Awesome demonstration boss

Just amazing, amazing aaaand... amazing! can't wait to try it and surprise my colleagues at tatami. This techniques are my favorites because they are ment to be done without kimono. Thanks míster. Best regards
Thank you. I really appreciate that!

Knight Jiu-Jitsu hey Eli I was finally able to come up with a good question so I was thinking about this transitions form side mount or whatever it's called I don't like people right there I've actually got sensitive ribs would you have an answer to that
Do you mean escapes from bottom side Control? If so I have a video on that. 👍
Man great video and content as always!!!
Thank you!
Nice work, i swear you could be from my school. Very similar stuff. Nice.

🙏🙏🙏
Amazing. Just amazing tutorial. Premium quality tutorial but I don't wanna give you any idea since I'm too poor to afford them atm.
Super interesting video. Thanks!!!
БРАВО !!! Впечатляющие переходы на Американу из разных позиций !
NIce vídeo. For the americana from bottom with your leg, a little adjustment is: just hook his forearm with your feet and turn your hip to the outside then you finish him. Best regards.
I think he (like I) prefer shooting subs from positions of dominance so we can grind out another opening if something else appears
Thank you, great lesson!
Thanks!
Perfect, like use to be. Tks for sharing knowledge.
My pleasure. Thank you!
Wow! Love em!
Thanks 🙏
Side control where they put the hand on the other side blew my mind. I usually push the armpit and either take the back or butterfly, but Damn. I like that one alot more.
Glad you liked it!
Solid jiu jiu!!
great vid sir💯
Thank you!
nice! as a lighter guy i get stuck bottom side a lot. been working that inverted triangle for a few months but now i have some more ammo
It’s great when combined with these other things. I got several of these details from Braulio Estima
Wow! Very cool 😎
Great 👍🏼 moves!!
Excellent video!! What do u think about the puppet master technique Eli, the last sequence where u hook the arm with ur foot was very similar, I've been experimenting with it recently thanks for the extra ammo.
I love it and it has a lot of entries and versatile uses. Chino has a great video on it as well as Dave Camarillo demonstrating it on my friend Roy Marsh’s channel.
Great video, would be awesome to train at this place
Thank you!
omg... i don't know which one to pick or which one I like the most... decisions decisions... my brain just overloaded... looks like i am picking ALL OF THEM!!!
That’s what I would suggest!
this vidro is very helpful especially fir whit belt, dometime you need catch philosophy submission from any position
Love it bro
This video gave me a chance to do more on the mats in positions I normally put myself in. Got any tips for a aggressive opponent who is stronger and is always catching you in a standing guillotine and then pulling guard and just sinking it in.
I don’t mean to be too abstract, but posture is the answer. It’s why wrestlers are so hard to catch in guillotines (good wrestlers). Getting your hips under your shoulders when necessary is very important.
Damn that dude have some very slick jiu jitsu techniques.🤔👍
Thank you! I appreciate that.
Awesome! I'm a lighter (130 lbs) beginner (7 months) always end up on bottom. I've been working on escapes and guard control, but being tossed around I like getting submissions from bad positions because I'm always in them.
I do try to practice escapes and better top control and sweeps, but when rolling with higher belts who weigh 50 lbs more than you, it's tough as a beginner. I like the idea of being very tricky.
It helps to be tricky sometimes for sure!
Voce é o cara !!! Brazil !!! Show
Obrigado!
Leão Dourado Belo Horizonte Brasil!!! Oss
The first time i give my comment in BJJ channel... I am about start to love BJJ... Hopefully someday the BJJ blackbelt will open Dojo in my city

Thank you I was having trouble because my opponent will get me in side control and don't no what to do thanks to this video now I do
Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
Yeah! Great channel! Thx for help! I have white belt and I fight only in bad position ;)
Thank you. I hope this helps
Boa mestre um dos melhores... Oss
Please make a video on how to counter street fight moves such as jabs, hooks, crosses and kicks using jiu jutsu. Thanks!
And possibly a little knife defense at that. Gotta be prepared. What I love about jiu jutsu was that after I mastered some moves, I was able to defend myself from bigger guys in class who like to disturb and annoy very small guys like me especially with pushes. I always hold back though. Dont want to hurt anyone.
That sounds good. I actually have a couple videos addressing these in separate places on my channel but I need to make a new one.
Ossssss great vid 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
As we say in Brazil... "tirou leite da pedra". Oss
I have been in those positions rolling, and i just try to survive. Now i have some options for submisions. That training partner and Harry Morgan (James Remar) from Dexter Morgan serie look as same.
Le hice la segunda técnica a un cinta morado y al final cuando le tenía cerrado el triángulo me puso la rodilla en el estómago y fui yo quien tapout.
I did the second technique to the purple ribbon and at the end when we had the triangle closed, I put my knee in my stomach and I was the one who tapout.
You are champion
Espetacular !!! Oss !!!
AWESOME
I've tried the Americana from bottom a few times, never got a sub from it but they did freak out a bit and gave me room to escape
These Jedi moves will make me move up in rank ( asap ) but dont tell nobady what im doing...
Awesome
This is perfect for me, I always end up on bottom but I am super flexible, I can easily snake my legs around people.
Awsum
I need to know how to get out of a seated on knees position where attacker is putting full body weight(usually sitting on) your back forcing your neck to tuck to your chest and cutting off air.
Top demais show valeu!oss
Thank you! 🙏
Knight Jiu-Jitsu!👊🙏
🖒👍👌super
Show! Thank's
❤
What if he sits on yor face and defends from ther? 🤔 What will you look to do to escape or even better lock him
this all looked so easy until I tried to bait people with these in class. There's a reason he capitalized 'BAD' in bad positions
Try to find a good partner that wants to work on the side on this bottom game & choose a few of the subs isolate them by having them resist enough to develop with a measured resistance, only not so much they shut you down.
As you improve, gradually up the resistance. You'll develop timing that way with less stress then build in more stress as your timing improves.
Example say there's 4 of these techniques. Isolte 2 in 2 separate drills with that concept, then at some stage insole any of all 4 based on the ques he gives deliberatly as your coach on top.
Then do light to medium rolls with the idea of any time that position shows up allow your partner to work for one & pull one out. Then Go back into flowing.
Then go harder sometimes put yourself there in hard rolls to see if you've improved your timing or at least set ups.
Aliveness drill concept.
Great partners used to be hard to find. Now a days it seems people really are more open minded on the sharing & helping eachother grow. Take advantage of that.
Hope this makes sense. Have a good day.
Muito bom...
Obrigado!
What if u are in the street fight?
