I believe it was appropriately released as Old Fitz as the Old Fitz brand was sold to Heaven Hill when the Stitzel Weller distillery was closed in 1992. Old Fitz was the flagship SW brand.
Wife and I went to the distillery this morning around 9am. Waiting in line for 30 minutes, out with 2 bottles in 1 hour total.
I really love your reviews and overall style. Appreciate you bringing this to the masses
Most of the 13s will not be drunk sadly.
Was lucky enough to snag one and mine is already open!
Sad but true
Ty for talking about secondary. Nothing wrong with paying what you need to get what you want.
Excellent review 🥃
at the Heaven Hill unlocked they noted this one was distilled at the old Bernheim distillery in 1999 back when heaven hill acquired them
Would definitely love to give this bottle but no way I’m paying secondary.
Not gonna outright pay secondary but debating swapping my ‘22 Handy and an OWA NCF store pick for one of these. I love dusty profiles
I would probably do that to be honest
I would too. Currently see one at 900 and waiting it out.
Camped out for the VVS today. Well worth it. Great story on this bottle.
So I just picked up my first Michters 10 year bourbon this past weekend. It's the 2020 release. I had to trade for it. I traded 2 blantons 1 eagle rare and 50 bucks. Anyone know if the M10 from 2020 stacks up? I am sure it is still a very good bourbon and I got the bottles at MSRP so I didn't pay too much over MSRP
Yeah almost the cost of CGF yeahhhh nobody’s gonna convince me they’re on the same level
Old Fitz may be a great pour, but its a way over priced and rare to get.. so.. it is out of the reach of most people.. and not many want to pay 900$ is worth it. Unless your a bottle collector.. I would rather not.. lol.
Where do you find this online?
So you want Heaven Hill to do a Parker’s Heritage bottle called the 25th anniversary of them acquiring Old Fitzgerald? 🤣
Obviously if they released this whiskey under a dif label it wouldn’t have a reference to Old Fitz
@@DrumsAndDrams Heaven Hill has 1 wheated bottle in bond product, it would make no sense to take those bottle in bond wheated barrels and make them anything other than Old Fitz (especially because they were barreled the year they bought the Bernheim Distillery.
@@dylanschneider4469 my point was that it didn’t need to be BIB. Leave it barrel proof and put it in the HC. It’s also just an idea, lol.
My son slept on line for me and got me one ($100 line sitting fee 😂)
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
Nope!
Over hyped and OVER PRICED 🫣🤔 Like my grandfather used to say: The difference between a $10 cigar and a $2 cigar is $8 😉
