I agree these are great comfortable ear plugs, I’ve been using them for a few years. The mini grip tends to tear off eventually. That might be the time to throw them away , however the fitting tool also works as an extraction tool, just refit and twist out. On the earlier versions there were no mini grips and that’s how Alpine recommended removal, so it works for sure.😊
I've been using these for more than 10 years since I discovered them. Not the black tipped Tour ones but the Red tipped Race ones. If you don't have a touring bike with a huge windscreen and ride over 100 km/h : Alpine MotoSafe *Race* Ear Plugs are strongly recommended 👍
Thanks for the review and tip on earplug orientation. Used your link to order the "pro" set that comes with both the tour and race plugs. Using the race for solo rides and tour for riding when using the bike to bike communicators.
Thanks for sharing this review. I always enjoy and your videos👍 I have the touring version of these plugs. My bike is a R1250GS with a GSA ( Givi ) windscreen. I am ( short ) 178 cm. When wearing my Shoei Gt Air 2 the plugs are "ok". Music in the Sena is loud and clear and wind noise is not too bad, but noticeable. When wearing my ( favorite lid ) Nexx X.wed2, they are pretty much useless. It´s almost like wearing no plugs at all. I also have a pair of molded earplugs ( from AudiaNova ). These block out everything BUT wind noise, they are very hard/uncomfortable on long rides. So - for me - nothing beats the cheap £0,05 foam rubber plugs that i throw away after every ride🙂
Who likes to listen to music on the highway through his headset will be thrilled, also the music playback is much better due to the reduction of wind noise
I was lucky. This was the first set of earplugs I bought after getting my license back in 2022. Been useing them since. Got to keep them clean and that’s all

Had a couple of pairs. Used foamys and cheap plugs. Those where ok but i think these alpine ones are by far the best. You can walk around with them in offvthe bike abd you forget you've got them in. They somehow take all that top end out of the wind noise. Honestly can't recommend them enough. If i loose one i order a new pair immediately
You're right. I have the race version earplugs but it's still not enough. Waiting for my custom fit plugs now. They even have removable filters so I got 23 and 24db.
20 DB is next to nothing, bringing the noise on an average bike down to 85 DB. It makes it safe up to around 3 hours at best before damage sets in. The good foam ones are 33 DB for comparison. You need at least 26DB reduction.
Excellent review! I have tried eargasm, earpeace and fitlife. And The toughest part is getting them properly inserted. These seem like they would be easier to insert properly ,using the tool. But the tabs on these are much longer and I wonder if the will drag on my fullface helmet and get pushed out of pace when putting helmet on? I looked at reviews and everyone seems to agree there is no issue with that at all. I may give these a try. Thank You

That’s the stupidest shit I’ve ever seen. We need tweezers to pull ear plugs out now. That’s a horrible idea. Alpine needs to rethink that design big time.
@@gsd32i : it’s not your ears, it’s that design. An applicator for ear plugs is really dumb. Say you loose that tiny plastic piece. You can’t inset them into your ears ? Makes zero sense.
The partyplugs are not good enough for a motorcycle. Motorcycle plugs filter specific frequencies that harm your hearing and let ambient noise through. The party plugs have linear dampening which means that all frequencies get muted equally.
After too many to count. These are the best by far! Thank you so much for bringing these to my attention, Best!

Yep completely agree - most comfortable ear plugs I’ve used - also work well when camping to aid a goods night sleep 👍

Very informative, straight and simple. Thanks for sharing. Cant wait for mine.
They work really well . Able to listen to my music etc at 70mph no problem . Very comfy👍

Great video! Thank you so much!
I have been considering buying some of these. I have used foam plugs for years but I want to try something better.

Which noise reduction rating would you recommend for listening to music while riding?
I use Motosafe Tour
Get race one. I just got the tour one and I still get tons of wind noise. The exhaust noise is definitely better though.
@@grandprixjamescan you still listen to music and hear it properly?

Pop into the garage, check the head size on the left hand cam tensioner bolt on your GS (sitting on bike) & report back if would be so kind 👍
That my friend is double Dutch to me 😀

Hi, just wondering can I use this earplug with the helmet headphone? Are you still able to hear the nevigation or music. Thank you very much!
Yes you can , even better, which surprised me .
@@gsd32i wow, that is amazing. Thank you for your reply
What if you lose the insertion tool ? Are they still usable or is,it time for a new pair ?
Tweezers will be needed 😂 happened to me , they are really good earplugs.
I have the Race versions and I can't seem to get them deep enough. Really hurts once I put my helmet on
20db SNR sound to low to me on my naked Ducati streetfighter, with no wind protection. How about that

No problem as long as you take the insertion tool off the earplug before you put your helmet on.
They let too much sound through. I got the race version, but I'm waiting for my custom fit earplugs as we speak.
Nice to see you do something productive besides screwing your bike up :) But fiddlers must fiddle.

I find them really comfy but just got to make sure the bit to pull them out is at the top ! Otherwise it’s a panic 😱 job !
I have tried them all. The best - as in most attenuation and most comfort are simple foamies. Forget these - and similar - just marketing BS
