I think this is my favorite video of yours so far..I love how you just let us see and feel the vibe witout commentary..I Love San Jose del Cabo, it is looking so pretty this Christmas
This was great, thank you. My husband and I just got back from San Jose and was delighted to have met you on the street, just close to Baja Brewing. You were on your way to go boating. This was a great review for us to watch. Now we want to visit La Paz. We also like your interviews, keep up the good work. Thanks again from Tacoma Washington.
That was awesome! However I prefer your interviews as we're in the early stages of moving down there from Salem Oregon (so many questions for you). Do a walking tour of LA Paz.
Yeah - lots of gringos in San Jose - dressed fancy and drinking a lot (compared to Cabo San Lucus where they are just drinking a lot.) La Paz is more our speed.
I have a question for you Brighten; We are soon driving up to Portland to get our residency done. If we have enogh investments to do permanent residency should we? We will want to bring my diesel Touareg with us when we move and cannot with permanent right?@@AlmostRetiredinMexico
@@PatrickMcGarrah-gd2bq If you'll be living in the baja peninsula, you should be able to drive a foreign plated car even if you're a permanent resident. But on the mainland, you won't be able to do that - so you'll need to import your car which is very expensive.
Thanks! It has been years since I visited the area so good to see it again. Looks much more modern and developed than I remember it. Re your channel, I enjoy walking tours but always prefer a bit of narrative to go with it. Doesn't have to be too polished, just a bit of description.
That was a really nice walk and much less noise than I expected. It was like we were walking with you, I hope you do others like this. You were recognized, you're a celebrity! Merry Christmas to you both and Happy New Year! 🥂🍾
My very first trip to Mexico was San Jose del Cabo waaaay back in the 80's. I was hooked as soon as I looked out the plane window. San Jose sure didn't look like this!
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico You have no idea! And Cabo San Lucas was just a former shadow of itself back then. Even Sammy Hagar hadn't discovered it yet LOL!
We liked it but agree maybe a little commentary could make it better. Even if you added it later. I'm not there so we'd like to know a little about the place. PS great tour and pace I didn't break a sweat. P n D
Glad you didn't break a sweat. Maybe I need to do a Pickleball video. I've seen videos like this where they put the description of what you're seeing in the closed captions. Maybe I'll try that. But I gotta admit, this was a really easy video to produce ;-)
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico I was just thinking overdub the commentary later in the editing stage. You likely wouldn't like recording the sound while pickleballing the grunts and swearing would be distracting.
Hey Brighton, what day of the week was this walk? Didn't look too busy, wondering if that's a weekend or weekday evening. Thanks for the videos, they're great.
Yes nice, I been there but I like Guadalajara more. It's more Mexican and regurlar people on the street meaning that you see poor and homeless people and that is more real for me being in Mexico.
San Jose del Cabo is definitely a tourist town - with lots of foreign tourists. I'll be sure to cover places like La Paz which has tourists - but they are Mexican tourists. And I'll show the grit too. Thanks for your comment
Sorry for the brevity. I’ve seen many walk abouts with no commentary and they provide little context. I spent a week in San Jose in February and I loved it. Your video did refresh the scene vividly.
Interviewing self-indulgent gringos limits your potential . At least with this style , you can show more about local people. The store owners are much more interesting than the gringo customers they have . You travel around at times, and those vids are the best. Who cares about USA expats comparing notes , or Canadians explaining that they are not gringos ?
The walk was awesome! Do more of these. Thank you. Love your channel.
Thanks for the feedback Andy!

I'm glad you like this style. I'll be sure to do more. I like how the sound turned out on this video - very immersive.
I love walking videos, yours was no exception. More, please.

Thanks - I remember meeting you guys on the street! I hope Tacoma isn't too cold for you after spending time in the Baja!
@AlmostRetiredinMexico I have not warmed up yet. I think I need to move to Baja! 😎
I enjoy the walking tour, they give a good idea of what the area life is like.
Thanks!

I'll definitely do a tour of La Paz! And lots more interviews are coming!
San Jose and La Paz. Our favorites!
I agree!
Lovely walk thru the town. More please
Thanks for the feedback!
Hola, thanks we enjoyed it . Thanks. 😊😊

This was fun, almost like being there. Very enjoyable walk through.
Thanks!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 happy news 🎉year love the street food looks yummy ❤love the art and the night market vibe.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too! Thanks for the feedback!
Cute town, but missing the La Paz malecón. I was there in March of 2022 for the Art Walk, so many gringos I thought I was back in LA. 😂

Feliz Ano Nuevo Brighton & Kat :). I loved this video!!! Like being there yourself. Blessings to you all in 2025 and beyond.

It's definitely changed over the years. I'll work on adding some narration in future videos - maybe just captions on screen.

Thanks Cindy! I love when people recognize me and say hi. Usually I have a conversation, but I didn't want to pause the video taping ;-)
A beautiful place for Christmas. I was there for Art Walk Thursday as well.
I've never been here for Art Walk Thursday - I wanna go!

very nice
Awesome !
I liked this video, maybe some light narration on locations and what’s going on, good job!

I enjoyed it. I think it's a nice fill occasionally.
It doesn't compare to your more informative videos.
Thanks - I'll mix these in intermittently!
Any kind of similar vibe on the La Paz Malecon? I would watch that too.
I'll definitley do a video like this on the La Paz Malecón at night and maybe during the day too.

It looks a little slow like the US and Canadian economy right now?
It felts slower on this Saturday night compared to the Friday night before (when I filmed and I didn't like how it looked...)
Meh
