It is a beautiful gun I have the two tone black and ss ... I thought as well that you couldn’t shoot full power loads but the guy at the local gun shop informed me other wise and showed me where it was beefed up where it was prone to “crack” the frame on older models just what I’ve been told and showed 🤷🏻♂️Idk
Good video why has it got arched main spring housing they are usually series 70 Colt pistols the new Delta Elite in the Colt catalogue has straight main spring housing
Those are very nice 1911's but the only thing I do not like about the Colt is you are not to use full power 10mm load in them because they have unsupported chambers. I have the S&W 1006 with a 24 lb spring and a Glock 20 with a 24 lb spring with Storm Lake barrel with fully supported chamber. I shoot Underwood ammo full power stuff but Underwood ammo makes 10mm ammo for the Colt Delta Elite 10mm.
Actually I’ve shot nothing but Underwood, Buffalo Bore, and Double Tap. Never had any signs of over pressure unlike my Glock 20, which bulges cases with the same ammo. Had to switch my Glock to a KKM barrel. Allot of people don’t know that you should replace the recoil spring in a Delta Elite every 1000rds. A weak recoil spring will cause the pistol to go out of battery before the pressure drops in the chamber.
