was fully expecting you to get tagged by that scope lol
@@toddbunnett640 no sir haven't had that happen since I was a kid on a remington 740 30-06
I have one in 280 remington. It has checkered stock and forearm. It was made in 1958. I have also got many deer with it. Have a great evening!
@@TheFlyingfarmer28170 that's very neat I've never seen one in a 280 rem.
@@hahn-arms8006 I think the 740 was the first rifle the 280 was chambered in.
Mine is in .244 Remington (6mm)
@@BuddBaker thats different
@@hahn-arms8006 It was overshadowed by the .243 Winchester. There was also some beef about the twist rate of the barrels in the early 740's that didn't stabilize some bullet weights. Remington changed the twist rate but too little too late.
I removed the front sight and installed tech sights aperature sights
How do you go about cleaning the barrel?
@@gela0701 with a cleaning rod, a bore brush, and a patch. I can do a video if youd like
Hey what kind of groups can you get with that 740 ? Does 150g or 180g seem better ?
@@toddr5732 I get around a inch to inch and a half at 100 yards. I shoot 180gr and 220gr out of it. When we drive deer
@@toddr5732 I don't use it that much anymore. My son uses it due to the stock being shortened
This was a great video 🤘🏽
Well done Hahn. Not easy to do and hard to explain how to. I have a Zastava M70 the same but was called the Mark X for Inter-arms. Great rifle. Cheers from Australia.
How is your walnut stock holding up with your guide gun? It’s definitely gorgeous!
Its holding up very well. Obviously has a few scratches but no chips in the wood. As you would expect from a hunting rifle that is dragged thru brush across fence and laid against trees. It is holding up well. Very happy i got the stock
Nice!! May I ask, if there is chips or micro gashes on my laminate stock what is a good way to fill it in? Is there some kind of compound that you may know of that helps?
@@johnappleseed9290 no not really if its a big chunk and you still have the peace you can glue it but, its a rifle and if used it will get dinged up. There is no buffing it out if thats what you are asking
hahahah? "I shoot them in the head or neck....243 doesn't kill them"...Dude a .243 has killed countless deer, elk, and moose. You hit the in the head or neck and they die just as fast as with any other caliber. Change bullets..."too fast"? wtf
Where did you find that clip???
Ebay about 10-15 years ago
You can still buy them off ebay. 10 rnd 30-06 magazine
I used the 10 rnd for when we drive deer. No longer hunt with this rifle as I out grew it. I now hunt with a Ruger 30-06 guide rifle
Damn son well that fox never felt a damn thing but goodnight. Seriously man love that rifle!! It’s a TANK! That barrel is like a cannon
I just bought one yesterday it cost me $365+tax@ my local gun store
They are good rifles
I had an early Marlin, single shot, bolt action .22 rifle growing up, I sold when I went into the Navy. Two days after I got out of the Navy (Dec 1972) I went to the local pawn shop, looking for the Marlin, and found instead the Winchester 67a. I purchased it for $19.00 used, but immaculate shape. I have used it since, hunting rabbits, squirrels, even dove ... impressed with the accuracy and range of that 27" barrel, with iron sights, and it will go to my son, and likely to one of my great grandsons.
They are definitely good rifles I own 4 of them now.
Can this gun kill human if hit ispn the skull?
I mean I've never seen a round hit someone in the skull no matter the caliber from a center fire cartridge not be deadly. Way to make this an interesting conversation.
This round is a 223 short more or less
Brother thank you for this, great breakdown. That retaining pin for the firing pin was no joke - what a cunt lol
I own one but it is in a 30-06 with a Nikon scope and I am thinking about putting a vortex scope on it but haven't made up my mind yet. I am also looking at a nightforce scope. I love the Browning though.
Thank you I needed this
The little bitty card saves money that they can use to fight for us.
I have now had a failer in the handle while butchering hogs. Handle is seperating from the tang is has a RMA and will be sent back to benchmade for repair
I have one exactly like yours. I love it. You have a great rifle. Enjoy it. Its a clasic ❤
Just purchased this gun and some people suggested a preclean and lube b4 I use the AR. Your video is great. Thank you so much
What's been your long term experience with the wedge?
Junk do not buy. I took them out after a few months. Caused issues with lockup, and never did figure out how but feed issues
@@hahn-arms8006 appreciate the fast response, thanks man
You are very welcome I try my best to help and answer questions you guys ask. Thank you
Just bought one nice gun
Not bad rifles foe the price at all
4 round I have 06 extly like it
That you elmer?
Only if you'll be the fud ?
How much sir
You can't afford it 🤣
It was replaced with a new one
@@hahn-arms8006 I like that, my question is how much your 22 ripple each
When I bought mine I think it was around $300.00
Trigger Group Removal… not disassembly…
Nice daycare cough I got a late model 63 878 love em!
Good video! And thanks for the magazine fix.
It ain't a nail in the stock , it's the trigger pin .
It’s not made in England. It’s actually made and assembled in three different countries assembled in steps. Stocks and blueing done in America after Being imported through Virginia. They have a lot of problems with safety issues. I’m fixing one now for my brother. It fires with any slight touch to the safety. They can be made to be very accurate rifles. They are very nicely blued with nice looking stocks. Real steel trigger guards. Steel trigger and steel iron sights. A gun like that would cost around $1300.00 if built Today. My brothers rifle isn’t even broke in yet. Never even had glass optics on it yet.
I have my Dad's...about 1938 just refinished it...looks great and shoots great...have it fitted with a red dot scope really nice...think his dad bought it at a Western Auto paid about 20.00 or less brand new...
Where to where are you measuring to come up with a 29 inch barrel?
Crown on the muzzle to inside of the chamber. Must of us use a rod with a closed bolt to do so. Mine is only one of afew ive seen with this barrel
@@hahn-arms8006 I have owned interarms mark X rifles and looked at many, many other mark X's, I think they are very nice rifles, but I have never seen one with a 29 inch barrel, have not even seen in specifications where it was an option. You either have a very, very rare rifle, or else your rifle has been rebarreled at some point. Looking at your rifke in the video, it doesn't look like it has a 29 inch barrel, a barrel that long is usually pretty obvious.
Excellent, thanks.
Interested to know how you mounted scope. I have one of these my father left me when he passed. Im giving to my son for christmas this year. Love to put scope on it but looks like it will need to be drilled and tapped to accomplish that.
They have a rimfire style scope rail made to the top of the receiver. (2 grooves) down the side. I'd be happy to do a video on it if you would like
@@hahn-arms8006 I saw the groves. took to local gun store for scope ring suggestions and they said it wouldnt work. Maybe I need to try another gun shop.
The S90V steel stays sharp for a while. But when it DOES come time to sharpen it. It's kind of a bitch to sharpen.
I have sharpened it twice now with no issues. I'm sure it depends on what you use
@hahn-arms8006 man I tried I few things. Full on stone with multiple grits and oil. To one of them fancy rollers. And at the end of the day the thing that worked the best was a $12 Husky brand sharpening tool I got at home depot 🤡
223
243
Subtract first 2 number bt 100 it will give u year
Do you use it for gutting the deer or just skinning them? Have your thoughts changed on it. I’m thinking of getting one for my boy. Thanks.
I use it for the whole process skinning to gutting to butchering. I haven't had any issues out of it.
Great video. What brand of Magazine are you using and has it been reliable? I'm assuming this is the same magazine used by the Woodsmaster 742 and that's what I'm looking for a magazine for.
Yes same magazine as the 742 was used. Mine is a Remington 10 round mag. They make them aftermarket now like $25 each on ebay
@@hahn-arms8006 Thanks, do the aftermarket ones lock in well? I only ask because I've heard that some of the aftermarket ones out there rock back and forth causing some miss-feeds.
I have 1 that is a aftermarket and it feeds and locks up tight I've had no issues with it that I can remember. I still own this rifle and always will but no longer hunt with it due to it now being to short for me. My son will get it one day.
@@hahn-arms8006 Thank you so much for your replies. I bought the Woodsmaster 742 for my dad a few years ago and he loves it. He had been talking about buying a few extra mags for it but the price for the originals, as I'm sure you know is quite high so I looked into some of the aftermarket 10 round mags off of ebay which are made in America but I heard from my dad that after market mags tend to jam. I was thinking about getting him a couple for Christmas but wanted to hear from someone who has used them first. Your replies have been very helpful. P.S. Even if the ones I've been considering have the issue I saw a video showing a simple permanent fix that would take less than 5 minutes to do, so I went ahead and ordered a couple for him. Thanks again, Eric
Those arent nail holes they are pins to hold the trigger assembly in place. I still have mine my father gave it to me when I was 6, still shoots great
Finally a review from an actual hunter and not just the knife brand new on a bench lol. Thanks man. Fantastic video
Everything I have I use. And I try to keep all reviews up front and honest. Thank you
Any other knife you'd like to see send it to me I'll try it. It is now butchering season
Just curious - why flashlight and scope combo?
It also has offset open sights. This rifle was used to hunt coyotes for a while. Which only half explains the light. Before I had my (house rifle) this MPR was also used in the case of home defense. The light works well with both the open sights and the scope. So why not. Great question
Great advice about the action. I have the Mark X 30 06 hair trigger w/ mannlicher stock but can't find any information
The Second Amendment foundation is pretty good too. It’s only $150 to become a life member with them too
can you link the video of this at the range TIA awesome video,
They done fossilized your bolt carrier 😢 This great man literally over here dying from cough disease but he shows us de wey 😊👏
🤣🤣😆😆 what now. This was before the Macaroni . And remember clean new firearms don't trust the manufacturer
@@hahn-arms8006yeah I just cleaned my mpr 18” before 1st range trip. it shot all ammo I fed it flawlessly im upset however, that it has almost 0 recoil 😅 Im used to handguns hurting my wrists
@@malinkifox2011 what kinda handguns are you shooting that hurt I only own 2 that hurt to shoot
@@hahn-arms8006 well Walther PPKs straight up tears my skin up after 70+ rounds at the range, the bevaertail edges are sharp enough where after some clips it will start to give a blister and break skin lol. then 150 rounds of Glock 23 or my PX4 Storm .40 also give wrist a good hurting, and I always maintain proper grip of course
I have my grandfathers..my grandma always had it behind her bedroom door for" protection "
Good of a gun as any for inside the house. That's very cool. They are great guns. I have 3 of them now mine which is a 67, my sons which is a 67A and my 67A target which is pretty rare. They came with a bull barrel
