Yes I played both Hockey and Football and absolutely this training is great for both. Not just defensive players in football but ALL players, especially running backs this is great for.
Everyone stares at me while i train hockey specific but don’t worry about it because you have different goals than a bodybuilder or powerlifter so obviously you’ll train differently
I just started using your speed exercises video that you posted and I’m training for an hour a day. I already feel stronger after a couple workouts. Tryouts is this month and I’m coming in hot.
I’ve been watching NHL hockey since 1987. I must say that the era post lockout (2005) has seen a massive increase in overall athleticism around the league. Players are so much faster, stronger, and more athletic that the game has changed drastically. I don’t think you can compare players from the old era to the new.
Yep, I needed that 3 years earlier. I sprained my ankle too many times. Can’t play sports without ankle braces anymore. But hey, after a few hundreds of dollers I can have the full Steph Curry experience!!
You’re not low enough which isn’t allowing your leg to be fully extended and lock out to have a toe flick at the end of your stride, you’re not swinging your arms to full extension, plus your swinging your arms side to side, along with not bringing your feet back underneath the center of your body (rail road skater) then after your stride, you’re kicking your heals up when you bring your feet back together. you’re missing 66% of your speed with your current skating technique.
I never hop in the comments but this is very true. My hips declined rapidly and I actually ended up with a labral tear in my hip (cartilage where femur connects). I was playing 3-5 days a week but wasn’t continuous enough on PT-based strengthening (this video shows some). For the younger players out there establish this early on so you’re not as likely to end up like me or Patrick Kane; same injury. Labral tears require surgery and 6 month rehab often, so take at least 1-2 hours a week to avoid 6 months off ice!
Hey can you do a at home for hockey players I’m trying to get better but I don’t have that stuff and I’m a kid so still can’t do those but can u make a at home hockey routine?
Could you please tell me where I could purchase one of those grey wedge balance things that is in the opening shot of this video? Or let me know what they are called, so I could order one online. I really need to strengthen my ankles. I skate wierd and need help. Love your videos, Many thanks!❤Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦

Really easy to tell with gait and squat tests.

That's one of the worst skating strides I've seen bud...
And where do you play in NHL?
📠
Unless you strap on your skates and train in them with weights, you will never hit the proper muscles..
Ankle strength isn't important in skating. 🤣 What are you teaching people?
Ankle strength can make or break you, what are you on bro
Hey nathanryan2866 are you even in the NHL because if you were than you wouldn't have said that ankle strength isn't important because it is so shut the hell up

what kind of equipment do you need? I’m a football goalkeeper coming off of injury to my ankle so I could definitely use some targeted excercise
