Oh, amen to that ! I worked at USC Med Center for 35 yrs in patient info., and we also had a major burn center w/ very dedicated staff. Anecdotally....2 days ago I was quite sick w/ undiagnosed pnemonia, and the Nurse Practitioner at Carbon Health in Pasadena was just so great and efficient and caring and thorough....so easy to communicate with. Health care folks are everyday heros for sure.

I was a patient at the Grossman Burn Center in 1991. I was 9 years old and I 3rd degree burned my left hand with fireworks on the 4th of July. I also spent 8 days in the hospital. Dr. Grossman Sr. Was my dr. He was the sweetest man and everyone who worked there were great as well. I had to stay by myself at night and the nurses would let me walk up and down the hallways and one nurse even made me special chocolate and peanut butter shakes. I was actually on a show called The Home Show the following year to spread firework safety. Watching Jay Leno talk about his experience there brought back a lot of memories.

This guy is so genuine ❤. What a huge heart. I have fond memories of him watching the Jay Leno show. I and my three boys were fortunate to meet him on the 405 freeway one morning. It was a early Sunday morning and we were heading back toward’s San Francisco. There was hardly anyone on the freeway and I saw the coolest emerald green old fashioned vintage coupe convertible. There was this handsome white hair man driving it. At first I thought was this George Clooney but when we got next to him it recognized it was Jay Leno and yes he was also very handsome and had the prettiest blue eyes. Luckily I had my Nikon camera in the car and I told my oldest to take a picture and I remember Jay had a flip phone and he was pretending to take pictures of my boys also . My twins in the back seat were having fun watching and after he signaled he had to get off the freeway we waved goodbye. My boys asked who was that man and I said if you can stay up tonight I will show you later. Now my boys are in their twenties and maybe someday we’ll see him perform his comedy shows. So happy to see he made it through his accident’s. God bless him and his medical staff! ❤❤❤

I love how Jay honours those that deserve a good holiday , because they need it , nurses are a special breed of people , when I burnt my face , I was shortly out of the army and still battle hardened , I dived straight into the pool and nursed myself with icepacks for a few days , on about day 5 , I looked in the mirror for the first time as the swelling had gone down and the pain had left , my face was pretty much a blackened itchy mess , so , as a good soldier , I decided to shave and tidy myself up to go and see a doctor , well as I shaved , most of the black came off and the rest came off with a face cloth , I think those nurses would have been horrified but in the end I looked a few years younger ! I dont advise people to get burned , but if you do , rather have a pretty nurse care for you than nurse yourself !

I was 2 years old when I tipped a saucer of percolator coffee that was sitting on the edge of our kitchen table. It gave me 3rd degree burns on my left bicep, I was wearing a nylon sweater at the time which melted into my arm. My dad was in the USAF stationed at Luke AFB, AZ at the time, so my hospital stay was on base. I really don't remember anything from the accident, but from stories mom tells me, I was hospitalized for 6 weeks, and was well cared for by the Dr's and nurses.
Thanks to all of those who have chosen a career where you are not always given the recognition you so rightly deserve!
    Thank you!! 🏥👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Wow, I’ve always loved & admired Jay. A unique individual. I am a nurse and worked in Critical Care with infants, children and adults. I too have worked in the Burn unit and loved every bit of time. Unfortunately in my early 20’s sustained 2nd * burns to my face however. fortunately I healed with out problems. These people are wonderful to carry out the work they do. Thank you all, and Jay Leno for such compassion.

I am glad Jay is doing so well, and it is wonderful of him to give these nurses this trip. I wish they didn't keep saying that they had to do their best because Jay is a celebrity. Everyone deserves the best care, not just the rich and famous. Mentioning the Lady of Angels school fire, it was the most horrendous thing. There were zero fire protections in place, in a school made of varnished wood. No fire extinguishers, no alarms, no fire escapes, no connections to fire departments. The smaller kids couldn't reach the windows to try to jump. 99 children died, and so many more badly burned.

Our Lady of the Angels fire was here in Chicago on North Ave, there are many images that can be found showing the horror of that day, it changed fire codes forever after so many lives were lost... I was recently reading an article about that fire just a few weeks ago... it is so difficult to celebrate something that is born from tragedy, but its good to such an excellent burn center evolved from the tragedy, we all owe gratitude to both Dr. Grossman and his dad...

I worked for company similar to one that manufactures those hyperbaric chambers used to help Leno heal his burns. These chambers are awesome in helping patients in their care. Damaged areas (burns) are treated with pressurized O2 environment. O2 helps to speed the healing process. This company and one that I work for has chambers at their customers' locations all over the world.

I spilled an entire pot of boiling soup on my right foot. Hospital visit, 2nd - 3rd degree burns. 6 weeks with my foot raised above my heart, so that sensitive skin would heal so can continue to get my foot into tight ski boot. 6 weeks in bed while healthy is a real stretch. Healed and can get into ski boots, it remains somewhat sensitive but no problem. I can’t believe he healed in a few weeks.

Glad to see Jay doing so well!! Happy to see him back. There was a time when I didn't appreciate Jay as much. I am a huge Conan O'Brien fan and took sides. But then Jay did his Garage show and I loved it. Perfect new gig. I hope he'll be more careful though. PPE and safe practices around cars. Wrenching on cars has some risk as you are working near engines and moving parts with your hands, but it's a whole culture. Car expert Wayne Carini found the ultimate barn find treasure of all time. A super rare car in a barn in all original condition that shouldn't exist. A surreal pinch me moment for sure, right? He takes it to the big famous antique auto show and gets a special prize for his once in a lifetime find. But what makes his whole trip? Leno is there and loves the car. Wayne is beaming. Car guy seal of approval on his epic find.
