I've gotten quite a few comments regarding the money thing for the Tem Shop, mentioning the Dog Residue instead and even saying it's better. I'm more than aware of that method! However, the method in this video is way, WAY faster. Dog Residue items are 1G and max out at only 4G after bargaining -- Cloudy Glasses are 50G and max out at 65G after bargaining. Each trip nets you over 500G. It's not even remotely close in terms of efficiency, I'm just saving you all an hour of your life!
When I was farming gold for Temmie Armour, I just bought the expensive Temmie Flakes and sold them back to Temmie, which gave me 1 extra gold for each Temmie Flake sold. It took a while, would not reccomend.
shayy if you werent aware (you were just its a dumb thing to test) last dreams from the asriel fight sell for 250g and heart locket and real knife also sell for as much as it. i found this out when trying to get temmie armor with no deaths at the end of the game lol.

6:40 Theory time! The bandage lets you flee easily is because the monsters are like "oh they're hurt and trying to run away... Ill let then run" I think its like that

Here's one for Deltarune that I found on UA-cam recently: Holding the A key while in Kris' ACT menu or a party member's MAGIC menu in Chapter 2 will show what S-Action/R-Action/N-Action can be taken against each enemy. Really not too useful because a majority of them are just called "Standard" but it does exist for some reason. Possibly a leftover debug command? Not too sure how common this knowledge is, but it sure is nearly useless trivia.
8:33 This is probably a reference to that one door in EarthBound that you have to stand still in front of for 3 minutes in order to open it. Makes sense, since (as everyone knows) Undertale was inspired by EarthBound.
Personally, I thought of Sans. His eye turns cyan, like the flag of patience in the ball game in Snowdin, and he's incredibly lazy. Your probably right about the EarthBound thing tho. Just thought I'd share. 😁
There's over a thousands comments here, so in the low chance you see this, I wanted to share a discovery I made 7 years ago which I've never saw anyone else mention before. You can, in fact, write 'z' or 'x' during Mettaton EX's fight in the PC version of Undertale. The secret lies in the Caps Lock key. Pressing the Caps Lock key will input the last key press on the keyboard, so if you input z, followed by Caps Lock, you input z. This means that special keywords such as "foxy" and "sexy" are possible.
I feel like if Undertale wasn't popular the whole world would be looking very different. like, Undertale was a humongous part of gaming and fandom history A 'canon event', if you will
its truly fascinating how a game made mostly by a guy in his 20s in 2015 who just used to make mods for earthbound, can have secrets alot of people still dont know in 2024... 9 YEARS LATER...
here's an idea: Did you know that different names give you different flavour texts upon entering? [Give Examples]. Well you probably knew that, but did you know that you can make yourself have no name? If you make your name a single character, and then press the x / shift key (to delete a character from your name) on the same frame you press the done button, your name is nothing and you've clicked done at the same time. This usually can't be done, but Toby Fox found out about this, and the game says "You must choose a name.". edit: might be too simple but whatever i guess. it's an idea. also did you know that the dog searcher thing in the papyrus date (at the top right) can be a diamond instead of a square? you actually got this in your 1.02+ AME WR. (it's a glitch)
Fun Fact: The Slow Soul might take inspiration from the Touhou series, where holding the shift key would slow your player character down to be able to dodge more precise bullet patterns. In the Switch Version of Undertale, you can clip in between Lesser Dog and the table he's sitting at in a very precise spot. This might work in other versions, but I do not know.
2:20 for those wondering: this did in fact work on the switch version at launch when holding down all the directional buttons on a joycon but this has since been patched out
i have a secret you havent covered: if you look in the files of the game you can find a set of sprites for a character named "frisk" whoever they might be. If you boot up the game and start a save, you actually will spawn in as the character

6:14 For anyone curious why slot 1 is slot 0 in the code, it's because computers count 0, 1, 2, etc. This isnt undertale specific either, this is in almost if not all computer/operating systems
Well, although it is way more common to start array indexes at 0 in programming languages, some start it at 1. I much rather prefer 0 as I'm more used to it.
I once tried to play a no save file playthrough, but i lost it when I was at grillby’s. Basically, I went to go talk to the dog playing poker against himself, and accidentally walked through him or around the table somehow, causing me to be stuck behind the counter forever (Grillby doesn’t have a side talk sprite btw). I’ve never gone near that dog since in fear of that happening again. I did this on switch btw.
I’m blown away by the fact that people didn’t know about the leaf puzzle because I was apparently so bad that I got the floor to not break on my first playthrough
Code in videos games is either some of the most elegantly, expertly written code you have ever seen, or is a complete spaghetti code mess. No in between. Undertale is the latter.
there's another "in case the player's having a really bad day" trigger in the ruins - if you screw up the perspective puzzle enough, dialogue will appear in the room telling you that the switch you need is behind a pillar
I hope Toby makes an update so that the glitches aren’t fixed but instead adds secret events and dialogue like how doing them enables a Hard Mode like Spamton Neo or sans making fun of you for the Sea Tea Glitch Same with the Punch Card Glitch like how Fan-Games like Deltatraveler and TS!Underswap hide secrets that can only be accessed by using the Punch Card Glitch And also teaches the player about slowing down, perhaps from a Canine Dog 9:27 *FRISK DANCE*
Seeing the Undertale community still active and constantly finding new things is one of the most wonderful feelings in life. Almost if... It filled us with determination.
4:22 as far as i know, the grind times are supposed to be incredible painfully long, as the game trying to stop you. This ending is meant to be hard and tedious to get, and make you feel bat about everything. I'm guessing the high step count is meant to be there, to add to the unpleasentness
Nah, the same numbers are present in all routes, anything exclusive to the Geno route actually makes it faster than normal (namely in core), so. I think the intent may have been to move around and get encounters in all the rooms (which is the interpretation Deltarune and Undertale Yellow go with) but most people just grind in one spot which does artificially greatly extend the length in a way that's not clear to the player. It's basically my only criticism of the game but it's pretty easily avoidable.
The press X to slow down mechanics is from Touhou made by ZUN, the game Toby really like when he is 11. Heck, if Toby didn't touch Touhou at all that day, the Undertale dodge bullet system will don't even exist, as well as a great chunk of Undertale OST, the whole game systems and music will become Earthbound like.
5:16 fun fact (that I think that works) for neutrals the death counter applies to you also killing monsters so I did an aborted genocide route at papyrus doing over 25 kills and when I got to Temmie, the armor was 750 without any deaths on my end
Having watched a ton of secret videos and icebergs etc its so rare I find anything I dont already know but your last video was amazing and actually told me something new so really excited for this one Shayy ❤
I actually knew about running on the castle screen in Waterfall, thanks to the amusement I got from flopping against the upper walls of any room I was walking through. I was actually a little disappointed that Toby Fox fixed that for Deltarune. Wait, you've NEVER seen anybody talking about the leaf room puzzle? I thought that was well-known by now!
I actually want to further elaborate on the out of bounds area for leaf puzzle room: Once you appear offscreen when going right, you can hold the right arrow key and up arrow key to continue going in that direction, because after approximately 5 minutes of holding the right and up arrow (both at the same time), the screen will shift upwards slightly, indicating that you are now past the hitbox barrier. When the screen shifts upwards after doing so, you can hold left to backtrack back, so around another 5 minutes later, your character will appear back on-screen, and you can explore. P.S. Some areas of that particular room when out of bounds, some areas like the bottom right of the screen, it crashes the game oddly enough.
Fun fact 11: in torn Apron room (Napstablook friend request room) if you go to the far right corner you can actually see some random ass man just standing there… Menacingly
I mean, even though I am still shocked about there being a third way to reach Mettaton EX, it's surprising that I know about like 95% of this game's little details or secrets. Exploring each new chapter of Deltarune reminds me of all that time I spend learning about Undertale
I have some fun facts you may not know. Flowey has very strange handwriting. Alphys turned Mettaton's SOUL up-side down. Papyrus spells Hapstablook's name wrong. Chara's first dialogue was probably released May 26, 2013. Alphys's rectangular glasses were inspired by John Egbert. Flowey is a good actor, and probably quite good at self-deception; possibly having or not having a SOUL doesn't actually change him much. On the surface, one of Toriel's house's doorknobs is backward. Alphys's cameras see the menu. Several lines were left out due to coding errors. Suzy is not the yellow kid. The bandage item is a band-aid type bandage, while Chara's corpse was probably wrapped in gauze bandages. (Kris also wears a gauze bandage.) The chain smoker in the Snowdin Library smokes cigars, not cigarettes. The human takes a particular interest in the Delta Rune in Gerson's shop. In Undertale's Demo, you can rotate the title. When Burgerpants smokes, the letter on his hat switches from M for Mettaton to W (for Wumbo?). Snowdin's mouse is the only mouse who gives up. The period at the end of the Burnt Pan's description wraps out of the textbox . If you kill all dogs except Greater Dog, Greater Dog is lonely. If you kill all dogs except Doggo, he doesn't know they're dead. Getting struck by Vulkin's lightning attack temporarily increases your SPEED. The unused track "Star" was supposed to play when Madjick's orbs become hearts, but it was removed due to errors. Tsunderplane is probably a ghost. You can get Muffet to spare you by buying about 9000G of Spider Donuts and Spider Cider in the Ruins. (Not just in Hotland.) Napstablook has arms. In Hotland, Sans claims to not judge. The Judgement Hall's checkerboard floor pattern has one mistake. Chara is probably meant to look like a corpse, a few hours or days after their funeral; this explains their lighter skin, the red marks on their face, their brown "eyes" which are sometimes circular or large and releasing liquid, their smile, their jaw unhinging for the jumpscare, and their appearance of laughter during the jumpscare. Undertale's files reference 10 savefiles; 0 is Chara's, 1-6 are almost surely the other fallen humans', 8 is Flowey's, 9 is the final fallen human's, and 7 is probably Lemon Bread's. Please respond.
It’s really funny to realize that soul slow movement is a feature few people know about due to never being explained by the game, when I know in my experience I found it during the tutorial by complete accident while trying out the game on PS5. Nice thing about having less buttons to play with lol. I thought it must’ve been a new addition or something like that
7:05 there is small issue that you have to not equip specific armor never before the battle starts because game checks if you have worn any other armor than bandage and gives around 50 points or don't give them at all for that armor piece (i forgor if it actually gives you points)
Always really love watching obscure fact videos where i actually DO get to learn a new thing or two! Really enjoying the new video styles you've been trying recently and would definitely love a part 3 👀
Fun fact when you buy alot of cloudy glasses you can store them in the box because there is another box at tem village you can also use ur phone in Pacifist and neutral after going into the lab
A cool fact is supposedly the reason Undertale's file system is so strange is because each file correlates with a separate entity capable of using saving and loading in the games lore, being of each of the 7 souls as well as your save and flowey's.
11:05 is actually an example of recommended game design. If your player is struggling with a puzzle and hints are not cutting it then you should solve it for them to ensure they can continue to have fun
I literally only didn't know 4 of these (6 if I were to count both out-of-bound glitches at grillby's bar and the puzzle sequence)... Thanks Shayy for making me feel like a total know-it-all
kinda sad that the sans fight glitch and "the best mettaton quote" weren't discovered earlier or im pretty sure toby would have added easter eggs for them like he did for spam-shooting in spamton neo fight
Also about the Mettaton Ex fight!! Idk if this is common knowledge, but if you use the stick, Mettaton catches it with his mouth and winks, and it gives you 7000 rating points. If you use it again though and any time after that, it only gives you 1 point because the audience just sees it as you playing fetch with him Which honestly, I love that apparently One person watching the fight consistently loves watching Mettaton play fetch lmao I always imagine the audience getting annoyed while there's just one guy sitting at home who goes CRAZY cheering and clapping every time you throw the stick lol
the cloudy glasses and torn notebook are actually very useful for the sans boss fight, too! if you use them, you won't get an i-frame boost, but you will somehow take less damage from karma! if you're struggling with genocide, i recommend using the cloudy glasses and torn notebook, they really helped me out with my undertale Nintendo switch playthroughs, especially since i can't really do many of the glitches used to make the sans fight easier.
Since I and my friend have a head-canon that Gaster and REDACTED are getting drunk at grillby's and making bets who will drive more people insane , Grillby's having such a broken hit-boxes makes perfect sense to me
Honestly, there are so many details in this game that it's honestly sad that a majority of the fandom just boils down the themes and characters into something extremely basic. (Example: The fact that there are leaves place in the pits in the ruins and flowers placed in the dump is because two of the souls likely fell to their deaths in those areas.)
@@DavidSartor0 One of the items for one of the deceased humans is in one of those pits and the only tree is right in front of Toriel's home. A human likely died there and Toriel swept the leaves into the pit to make sure it didn't happen again.
@@michaelcarlton1484 The 'don't step on the leaves' puzzle also has leaves. I think those were put there to catch people falling from the path above. There are monsters in the pits, that could have killed someone. Wasn't it a ribbon? A ribbon probably gets moved around a lot. It makes sense it would eventually settle at the bottom of a pit.
Funny thing about the leaves, I actually discovered that years back because I had played UT so much I was just dicking around in every room to see if there was anything i had missed lol. If you leave the room and come back it resets !
me being in the fandom for years, knowing everything, played and watched a LOT of the playthroughs, and I still go AWOOGA when youtube recommends me new undertale content
woah i remember following your speedruns back when i was learning how to run this game!! glad to see you still in the scene & putting out good content!! keep it up (:
0:46 just wanted to point out that the game does mention this feature when talking to a froggit in the ruins in the room after napstablook's room. It said that if you ever wanted to go slow just press x but i didn't realise what it meant by it until now. Cool vid

there's another "in case the player's having a really bad day" trigger in the ruins - if you screw up the perspective puzzle enough, dialogue will appear in the room telling you that the switch you need is behind a pillar
5:39 solve the piano puzzle. Get dog residue. Use dog residue. Sell all dog residue except 1 to temmie.
Infinite money
sure, but it takes a lot of time
bro i ran out of residue and ended up using the temmie flakes, luckily i sucked so bad i only needed 750g
@@TheSoulCalledZuzia yeah I guess it does
lmaoo i actually did that to get tem colleg and it took forever and then she revealed the armour and i murdered her
That's what I did
She sometimes get really excited about the "dog residues"
0:24 thats the largest sub/viewer ratio ive ever seen
Means hes a good yt
8:42 "and they said being lazy wouldn't get me anywhere." the song 'sans.' then plays in the background.
i don't know why but the idea of speedrunning mettaton's fight by changing your fit over and over is the funniest thing to me
Shay you are my favorite UA-camr ever. Thank you for making these fun and entertaining videos!

SHAYY HAS SUCCUMBED TO THE FANON
I hope Toby makes an update so that the glitches aren’t fixed but instead adds secret events and dialogue like how doing them enables a Hard Mode like Spamton Neo or sans making fun of you for the Sea Tea Glitch
Same with the Punch Card Glitch like how Fan-Games like Deltatraveler and TS!Underswap hide secrets that can only be accessed by using the Punch Card Glitch
And also teaches the player about slowing down, perhaps from a Canine Dog

Seeing the Undertale community still active and constantly finding new things is one of the most wonderful feelings in life. Almost if... It filled us with determination.
HELL YEAH!!!!!!!
Also you're thinning out the population and they might start to try to avoid you as they realise what you're doing.
9:36 I discovered this one by myself! ❤
5:56 - THOSE DAMNED IF/ELSE STATEMENTS AAAAAAAAAGH
AHHHHHH! BOOLEAN! 😰
Love when Shayy comes out of their cave to drop a new video, and then proceed to never be seen again!
I wonder if a part 3 is possible though...
Never been more proud of myself for actually knowing a few of these.
8:32 I found this out by doing exactly what the sign said.
And they said being lazy wouldn't get me anywhere
10:30 You have no idea how stupid I feel after struggling with this singular puzzle in SOOOO many runs
GUYS WE KNOW HOW GASTER ACTUALLY GOT LOST IN THE VOID! He just tried to do a funny out of bounds glitch 😔
3:52 I knew this, that’s why I’m confused when I see other UA-camrs not leave and come back.
Fun fact 11: in torn Apron room (Napstablook friend request room) if you go to the far right corner you can actually see some random ass man just standing there…
Menacingly
(Kris also wears a gauze bandage.)
The chain smoker in the Snowdin Library smokes cigars, not cigarettes.
The period at the end of the Burnt Pan's description wraps out of the textbox
.
(Not just in Hotland.)
Napstablook has arms.
8:05
Wait I thought you had to do *both* puzzles, I’ve done so for several playthroughs. I didn’t know you only had to do one! :o
Fun fact when you buy alot of cloudy glasses you can store them in the box because there is another box at tem village you can also use ur phone in Pacifist and neutral after going into the lab
5:08 I bought this armor for the original price... (It took me about 1 hour to get the money) :P
A cool fact is supposedly the reason Undertale's file system is so strange is because each file correlates with a separate entity capable of using saving and loading in the games lore, being of each of the 7 souls as well as your save and flowey's.
HOW WAS HIS NAME GASTER? 3:00 (normally it would reset the game upon naming the human Gaster)
Probably changed it so they typed something else but it ended up as Gaster
You can change it through the files.
File editing.
I figured out the faster encounters one myself when experimenting on genocide. Same with temmie armor.
2:37 No one gonna mention them being named gaster
Editing Save File
For what it's worth, slow soul mode is Focus mode, since it's a standard mechanic in Danmaku games, but most especially Touhou
I honestly know about Slow-Soul because of Undertale Yellow.
i thought it was undertale yellow only
Undertale what
@@almsiviiundertale yellow. basically you play as the soul justice
I figured that second to last one about a year ago and I felt so proud of myself
Thanks Shayy for making me feel like a total know-it-all
4:45 I didin't know she was Female
The grillby's oversights are honestly crazy lol
5:29 you can get dog salad and make infinite dog residue! And sell it to tem
First time I've seen someone mention the double speed glitch in the disney room.
11:34 LUMI OUTCORE?!?!?!!?!?!?!
i've been actively looking for secrets in this game because it's so cool and i still didn't know majority of these, it's actually crazy
8:47 I love the username and the (mis) pronunciation. I think it's Yam Alpaca. (Yamal, hehe). Where do people come up with these names?
kinda sad that the sans fight glitch and "the best mettaton quote" weren't discovered earlier or im pretty sure toby would have added easter eggs for them like he did for spam-shooting in spamton neo fight
3:30 that name is smth off about HOW IS IT GASTER
Also about the Mettaton Ex fight!! Idk if this is common knowledge, but if you use the stick, Mettaton catches it with his mouth and winks, and it gives you 7000 rating points. If you use it again though and any time after that, it only gives you 1 point because the audience just sees it as you playing fetch with him
Which honestly, I love that apparently One person watching the fight consistently loves watching Mettaton play fetch lmao I always imagine the audience getting annoyed while there's just one guy sitting at home who goes CRAZY cheering and clapping every time you throw the stick lol
Makes me wonder who the fetch-enjoyer is…
10:55 oh yeah that i tried in deltatraveler
the cloudy glasses and torn notebook are actually very useful for the sans boss fight, too! if you use them, you won't get an i-frame boost, but you will somehow take less damage from karma! if you're struggling with genocide, i recommend using the cloudy glasses and torn notebook, they really helped me out with my undertale Nintendo switch playthroughs, especially since i can't really do many of the glitches used to make the sans fight easier.
3:20 sans literally says he is nothing lol
I'm amazed that after nearly a decade I'm still finding out new things about this game, I'd love to see a part 3!
6:20 I wonder if this armor would work on the genocide route bosses
You can't get it, i tried it.
I think the leaves in the ruins were put there by the people making the pits. At least, probably a monster fell down there before a human.
6:35 I knew this, you talk about it a lot.
me being in the fandom for years, knowing everything, played and watched a LOT of the playthroughs, and I still go AWOOGA when youtube recommends me new undertale content
2:12 why is no one talking about the name being GASTER 😭
You can just Edit your Save File
And Change your Name to Gaster
I like to imagine Toby added the patience path in the Core just so he had an excuse to take a piss break when testing that part.
YOOOO SHAYY UPLOAD
woah i remember following your speedruns back when i was learning how to run this game!! glad to see you still in the scene & putting out good content!! keep it up (:
0:46 just wanted to point out that the game does mention this feature when talking to a froggit in the ruins in the room after napstablook's room. It said that if you ever wanted to go slow just press x but i didn't realise what it meant by it until now. Cool vid
No, that's not what they said. They're referring to skipping dialogue with X.
@@ShayyTV huh i thought they were saying that if life is going fast press x and take it slow or smth
@@pratibhaverma8290Nope, that dialogue is actually from an NPC is Undertale Yellow!
@@Russetfur1128 oo thanks, I knew I saw that dialogue somewhere
