Best Way To Record Videos From Cell Phone (Landscape VS Portrait)

- When it comes to creating content, many of us shoot our videos from our phones right? Well when we do that, should we be doing that in Portrait mode or Landscape mode? Guess what, you get to decide.
In this video I show you why shooting your UA-cam videos is better in landscape mode compared to portrait mode and what platforms works great for still shooting in portrait mode. Rather it's Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or any other platform they all have a place.
This is great for someone who is new to creating content for UA-cam or just creating content in general. Rather you are new or not, we can all use some helpful tips on how to improve on UA-cam.

I think just a standard camera on your phone works great as long as it's landscape you get full view

Hi C, just a thought. Unless you're shooting a portrait in portrait mode or a very tall building you are wasting 2/3 of your screen's area. Your two exceptions are right on time.
The Grand Canyon in portrait mode, probably, not good.

Yup, it makes all the difference, unless you want to make a UA-cam Shorts video but that's a whole different style of video

Hey Britney! Yes, just turn your phone sideways. Keep it that way while recording and you are good to go. if your phone doesn't retotate when you turn it sideways then make sure you have "auto rotate screen" turned on in your phone settings. I only ever use android

I don't own a smartphone (shock, shock). Even more shocking, I don't use Instagram or TikTok.
What has prompted me to respond is possibly due to my ignorance. But, do Instagram and TikTok REQUIRE 9:16 aspect ratio (portrait mode)?
I've thought that landscape mode was universally friendly on any device or platform because when you're on your phone, and run across a video recorded in landscape mode, you could simply turn your phone 90º and auto-rotate to fill the screen.
And, if some platforms in fact require 9:16, I would never consider using them.
They don't require that. I have used both Instagram and TikTok before and the good thing is by turning my phone I have the dimensions for the videos.
I really hate IG Reels and TikTok ... so I avoid portrait unless I know I’m doing a UA-cam short. And since I have a love-hate relationship with UA-cam shorts, I almost never do portrait 😉

@@ConsistentAsh some of my shorts got hella views. But they didn’t drive sub growth or $$ so why do them? They work for some channels... but certainly not all!

Definitely the best way to go to record videos from your phone
And now to confuse things just a bit more we have #shorts. 😃 It’s difficult to learn much from them but they sure are popular. Tragedy, pranks, shocking things, cleavage and butts rule that media.
