After rereading my comment I think I need to clarify, I am not actually a modern day “hacker”. My 72 year old vocabulary should probably have used “LumaHobbiest”. I’ll try and be more careful in the future.😃
Thank you! I hope you get more use from my channel in the future. I’ll be working on some more lumafusion content in the future when the new update drops!
Great video, but one critique. You give the broad instruction well, but then you’ll say things like “then use x blend mode and position it correctly” (just paraphrasing) then you do a bunch of steps after. For the beginner, those steps might not be known. You could at least verbalize what you’re doing so the beginner could follow along. Also, maybe explain *why* we’re using a certain blend mode. Like why does the darken blend mode work for the brush transition? I’d love to know. Thanks man! Subbed and exploring your others.
@@ChrisWilmshurst I just committed to two videos a week, I drive a 18-wheeler by day and want to take my new shop as a off grid work shop. Possibly full time gig!
Thanks for the suggestion Garry, unfortunately I won't ever include any templates or transitions as I'm here to help teach people techniques and skills, not do the work for them :)
Nice video! No waffling and pre amble just a good honest tutorial. My only one small bit o feed back the clicks for the sub were a bit "harsh" but that's probably just my personal taste. It's given me an idea to do a brush green screen transition :D
haha thanks! I'll tune them down, I threw them in there as an after thought! That's definitely a good way to do it. You can also use them for brush on titles.

hi thanks for your tutorials they are really good.. can you do a tutorial on superhero like the flash running or taking off like superman because i can do this effects on kinemaster app but i like to do them with lumafusion if you can make it thanks
Some very interesting tips, thanks, though some other ones like the transition, some of us understood, nothing...we are not all advanced users like you my friend. We need step by step guidance. Thank you anyway
It’s not possible currently in LumaFusion I’m afraid! Or at least the way you’d traditionally do it in a program like after effects. I’ll make a note and see if I can figure out a way...

Cool, I love your videos! But I was wondering, what if I wanted another footage to be seen under the brush stroke effect? Like when the first footage is being wiped out, instead of black color, you could have another video...🤔
Hey Chris, Love the video! We've just finished producing our Lumafusion keyboard covers with the Lumafusion team! Would you like us to post you one over?
Great video :) #1 speed ramps. This is absolute rubbish workflow wise and absolutely something they need to look into. A proper editor will have a way to speed ramp.

You could try using a Green brush and use the key function? and layer it over the top of the footage you want to reveal.

Wizardry. How helpful is the Apple Pencil when using luma fusion
I find it quick to use and lets me have precise edits; but you could get the same effect using a mouse or trackpad I’d say
