LB Nutt good question, the CineCollection M2 is very specific to the Mavic 2 pro. The pack that is suitable for you’re cross camera use is the CineVision pack. Let me know if you get them and would love to see what films you create
Is there any comparison to understand how it would have done without lut videos. I have an iphone 13 and i dont have an option as lut. But i am wondering how good results i can make with this.
This was extremely helpful! To someone who’s not exactly a beginner but still trying to learn more about color grading and that area of filmmaking, I especially like the Gaussian blur trick since I use my iPhone to film, and iPhones are notorious for their sharp image, which doesn’t look very film-y. Thanks a lot for your help!
On the mountain peak in the clouds: when I’ve had a shift like that I’ve successfully used lumafusion’s key frames to make gradual changes to the exposure and other settings. That way the change is even more subtle without splitting the clip.
Thank you! That was fantastic. As a sound engineer who has only recently started venturing into video and is using Lumafusion, I found this to be both informative and inspiring.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback Greg. Glad this is helping you create wonderful films. Please do showcase your videos using these methods. It will be great to see 😎👍
It’s a top end tip for sure. Takes that sharp feel and softens it to look like film typically would. Do show what you have come up with when using these tips
Thank you very, very much for this tutorial. It's concise, to the point, and extremely helpful. I'm pretty new to drone videography and have recently started to upload to stock sites. Because of this video, I know how to properly color grade, adjust levels, and denoise using nothing other than LumaFusion--and the sales are slowly but surely starting to come in. That transition tip has been particularly helpful in shots with tricky sun angles. Really, I can't thank you enough.
Glad you love it. Had to figure out a way to soften and give that subtle filmic look. Now you can also do this in other editing programs. Will love to see you using this technique in your videos. Have you tried it yet?
good thinking! i actually like that it softens the footage a bit plus adds a little denoising effect on the clips. i haven't tried it yet but for sure gonna try that soon. i'm a lumafusion editor as well. most of my videos in my channel are now made from it. 😊
ProCinematicFX The part where you graded the scene with challenging exposure (the mountain / clouds scene). ّI liked your approach of splitting, grading each part and the way you have done the transition “seamlessly”. Also the blurring effect to simulate NR of the scene is superb.
Glad it helps a lot and yes it’s all about thinking out the box with limited functionality. On a desktop editor one has much more options to work with but LumaFusion is amazing for an iOS editing app :)
Superb tutorial! Your tip on de-noising is brilliant. Could I send you a short clip to get your thought on the level of noise reduction? If so, how do I send it to you?
Hey Ben, thanks for the great feedback. There is also the technique presented here with the exposure change issue which hasn’t been shown for LumaFusion before. Great thing is these methods can also be applied on desktop editors. Have you given them a try? (Will be interested to see your results)
Truly appreciate your comment and love how you explained your thoughts while watching. It’s actually quite humorous and pleased you got some value from this video. Yes the results are quite a lot better once processed and hope you can apply these techniques for your footage :)

Thanks for this video. Very useful! I started using LumaFusion 2 years ago. With features like LUTs support and the recent addition of Blend modes, I haven’t looked back at my NLE.
ProCinematicFX I’m quite proficient with LumaFusion so I know the process you showed. I enjoyed the flow of your presentation and the clarity with which you explained each step. Yes, get one. They are amazing fun to have. Maybe start off with the Mavic mini if you are limited with budget but if you can, then the Mavic 2 pro is the one of choice 😎👍
mikeyyy0 the Mavic Air 2 just gotta released. You might be interested in that. Its the best middle ground drone on the market for price/performance value...
Great video love the tips I got, haven't seen anything else like this. Those small details like adding the frame on top of a frame are the types of hacks I love. I do something similar by doubling my main soundtrack and then panning each to the left or right and it gives a bit of a fuller sound when needed.
Hi Nik, no denoising was done. All right out of camera. Best way to minimize noise is to film at the lowest iso possible while still maintaining good balanced exposure. It’s ok to go up in iso a little bit as this can sometimes actually reduce noise if the image is underexposed
Do you use paperlike screen protector? If so, does the paperlike annoy your editing workflow? Especially when sliding or trimming the timeline with Apple pencil😀
Actually the screen protector works really well and honestly doesn’t affect the workflow at all. I would highly recommend getting one. It’s certainly worth it when constantly using the pencil and making micro scratches on the screen
Hy, just one question plz..how do you make this tutor video?? Can we make this kind of tutor video on ipad by using lumafusion or we need any other app else?? Thank you
Hi. Thanks for the video. I am about to purchase an Ipad after watching your video. Apple pencil is a must but how abut the keyboard. You used it to zoom in and out with KB. Can I just do without the KB or am I gonna miss anything also is there anyway to match all the color grading of every clip instead of doing them one by one. Thanks
Yes there is a copy and paste effects you can apply on each clip. Works very well and don’t need to repeat grades. You may need to fine tune each shot though. As for the keyboard, it’s not essential and neither is the pencil. It does help to have it though :)
Ted Kunchok this I cant say for sure as I haven’t tested it. It should do but I’m guessing you may have to set your playback settings to a low resolution for playback purposes. Will be interesting to know how your tests turn out. Please keep me posted :)
Much appreciated video professional and informative. Hope to se more Lumafusion content from you in the future. Also! Amazing looking drone shots.I myself find it difficult to color my Mavic 2 Pro shots in LM. If you are you using Mavic 2 Pro. Are you using d-log m and how do you fix the barrel distortion? Thanks
These are great questions. Yes, the shots are in D-Log and you he easiest way to deal with grading the format is to use the SpectrumGrades LUTs. Basically almost plug and play with some basic tweaks as seen in this video. LumaFusion doesn’t have the full capability to grade as deeply as the LUTs. If you don’t have luts, then you can get by with contrast and saturation increases. This will give you a standard look which is still good. As for barrel distortion, that’s a good question and will look into it as to how it can be corrected in LumaFusion 👌😎
My question is can I apply the same settings to all my clips? I have a ton of different clips and I want them to have the same feel in grading and tonality. And each time I have to grade it constantly..
You can copy and paste your grades to each clip. It’s hard to explain here but it’s in the effects page of a clip you have graded. Will be easy to find. Let me know if that works
Hi friend. Why when I use cross dissolve in between two shots, it shows so blurry to transform? But I saw you did it in the video (the mountain part), it seemed so clear.
GiffWings G thank you very much and pleased you love it. Are you referring to the luts? If so then it depends on what you film on. Let me know so you get the right pack for you
As long as you have LumaFusion installed then yes absolutely you can use the LUTs with your iPhone SE. the LUTs will work with any apple device with LumaFusion installed. Let us know how it goes with them 😎
Could you recommend what LUTs you have that would work well with the iPhone 12 Pro max. I'm picking one up in a fortnight. I'll be filming mainly in the UK/Northern and South of Ireland so you get an idea of normal climate conditions, not sunny Spain for example. I will be shooting in Log and also have Filmic Pro, V Log. Cheers in advance. Oh' I just got a Mavic Mini so I'll prob need those grades, I See you have them ✔
That’s a good question, yes you can cross purpose the SpectrumGrades CineVision luts which have excellent looks for the environments you’re filming. Also works great with both your iPhone with filmic pro (both standard & Log). Just keep in mind the log in filmic pro isn’t a wide dynamic range and is more similar to standard colour. Both color profiles have been tested with the pack and works very well with the rec709 luts in the pack. Also it will be suitable for your mini. This will be an excellent solution for your setup.... spectrumgrades.com/products/cinevision
@@shawn3d Apparently the on board raw ( more of a computational raw ) is better, way better than what you can achieve with moment and Filmic pro on the iPhone 12 Pro max. I've found some good examples in low light especially. Thank you for the info...My wife was asking what I wanted for Christmas so your suggestions will be on her lap later ✔
Hi Guerino, you can do the exact same process with the SpectrumGrades CineVision LUTs for your osmo. Here is the link... spectrumgrades.com/products/cinevision Let me know how it works out for you
@@shawn3d Filing in 4K 23.98 on the EOS M50 and iPhone 11 Pro Max in 4K 23.98 and editing in LumaFusion (the full one). The one that I ended up on was CineVision Universal LUTs
@@officialdanielsheppard if I were you, I would stick with the CineVision for your setup. The Gamma is great but the CineVision has both log and standard color options. In my opinion it’s the best one and you chose correctly
@@shawn3d much appreciated! I’ve been seriously lacking color grading and your channel has been great. Others have left me more stressed. Appreciate the content and the replies back bud.
Yes they are perfect for it. There are log luts in the set that work incredibly well. The sample images on the site are actually GH5 v-log samples without any adjustments added. So you can see they are 👌😎
That will be great if they do imminent it. What you can do in the meantime is visually judge when you don’t see anymore detail. It works pretty well this way and can trust your eyes in this to a good degree
Hiii thanks for sharing! I have the first generation mavic pro but my dlog footage is grainy. My iso is 100, 60 shutterspeed. I think i dont have the right custom picture style settings. Can you please share yours? Thanks!
The Mavic pro first feb and second gen have a lot of noise. You need to denoise your footage in edit. There some noise profiles here but keep in mind you will also need neat video. Let me know how it goes… ua-cam.com/video/ASzOzrB-a9E/v-deo.html
You could however it will be difficult to get a good and accurate output. This may depend on your skill level with grading. In saying this, LumaFusion native color adjustments are very limited. I would suggest using SpectrumGrades LOG LUTs applied to the footage and then do your manual adjustments tweaks to fine tune to a look you like
I have a big question i bought a Samsung portable SSD T5 for my Blackmagic 6K I reformatted it on my pocket 6K... When I plug it into my iPad pro to see my videos I only get document files not video... Need help?
Yes, absolutely they can import these LUTs into pretty much most editing programs on mac and pc. Let me know if you get them working and how you enjoy them
wow, this is amazing! I multi-cam record long interviews onto Atomos recorder using ProRes; this by-passes the 30min record time and gives me ONE file from each camera. I don't want to deal with many smaller files. Could I transition to editing on a iPad rather than iMac?
This is a very interesting question and potentially can be done. As you know prores is very data intensive, so it’s about managing drive space in your device. Also maybe what can be done which might be too much of a hassle is using proxy files in LumaFusion and export the xml to render out in your editor for final output at prores again. Either way you can do full edits in LumaFusion but have to check how it handles large prores files which I haven’t actually tested at this point

As long as you have LumaFusion installed then yes absolutely you can use the LUTs with your iPhone SE. the LUTs will work with any apple device with LumaFusion installed. Let us know how it goes with them 😎
@@shawn3d cool thank you
Could you recommend what LUTs you have that would work well with the iPhone 12 Pro max.

@@shawn3d Apparently the on board raw ( more of a computational raw ) is better, way better than what you can achieve with moment and Filmic pro on the iPhone 12 Pro max. I've found some good examples in low light especially. Thank you for the info...My wife was asking what I wanted for Christmas so your suggestions will be on her lap later ✔
what music is playing in the background?
Hi, i have found a Mavic mini lut but I shoot my video with my osmo pocket too. Do you have also a solution for that one?
Hi Guerino, you can do the exact same process with the SpectrumGrades CineVision LUTs for your osmo. Here is the link...

Let me know how it works out for you
Cool! 😍🔥 just made a travel vlog video (in Chiang Mai) which was edited on my iPad and shoot with my iPhone 🙏
is luma touch be used on ipad mini 2??
I think I downloaded the wrong one - do you have a direct link for the gamma LUTS you were using?
Hey Mancake, it depends on what camera you are using. Which pack did you get and what are you filming on?
@@officialdanielsheppard thank you too. Thats such a nice feedback from you. Much appreciated :)
If I shoot with a GH5 in V-Log, the universal luts are good for that ?! Thanks!
Yes they are perfect for it. There are log luts in the set that work incredibly well. The sample images on the site are actually GH5 v-log samples without any adjustments added. So you can see they are 👌😎
Great content thanks :)
You’re so very welcome and thank you for your wonderful comment. Much appreciated :)
Scopes; waveforms for proper exposure coming soon?
Thank you soooo much i love this vdo
Great, subbed 👍
Excellent. Great you can join and welcome. Have a legendary day 👌😎
@@shawn3d Thanks 👍👍👍
can I manually transform log to Rec.709 with this app?
You could however it will be difficult to get a good and accurate output. This may depend on your skill level with grading. In saying this, LumaFusion native color adjustments are very limited. I would suggest using SpectrumGrades LOG LUTs applied to the footage and then do your manual adjustments tweaks to fine tune to a look you like
@@shawn3d thank you so much for responding :)
I have a big question i bought a Samsung portable SSD T5 for my Blackmagic 6K I reformatted it on my pocket 6K... When I plug it into my iPad pro to see my videos I only get document files not video... Need help?
Can You import luts that You have, like from Color vision or Tropic colour?
Yes, absolutely they can import these LUTs into pretty much most editing programs on mac and pc. Let me know if you get them working and how you enjoy them
Wow very useful dude I am being using LumaFusion for 1 n half years n now I have found my mistake ....:(
This is very interesting. What mistake was it that you were doing?
Can I use with lumafusion & LUT app and is the software easy to create if you don’t have color grading experience
Yes absolutely. It’s designed to be user friendly and easy to use. Just follow this tutorial and you will be all good
@@shawn3d thank you
wow, this is amazing!
I just got my iPad Pro ang looking around what I can use This video convinced me to purchased one . But I have questions i have VLLO app that I purchased do u think I can just used that or do u still recommend this? And does all the video I imported in this app is it still gonna be there inside the app even I erased it on my iPad memory..thanks
